We have 8 Luxury Collection Lake View Feature rooms which are the most luxurious hotel rooms in Ullswater and have been refurbished to the standard of a 5 star hotel in the Lake District. We offer travel cots and extra beds (for children) at a small extra cost.

In the 2 AA Rosette Lake View Restaurant at the Inn on the Lake you can enjoy Head Chef’s imaginative lunch and dinner menus with strong emphasis on local produce served with style in beautiful surroundings and enjoying stunning views of Lake Ullswater in the Lake District.
With menus changing seasonally and a wide choice of wines there is always plenty of variety for even the most discerning palate. Private dining for that special occasion is becoming increasingly popular, and our staff will be happy to assist with the planning.
Lake View Lounge
The Lake View Lounge Bar and terrace offers the perfect location to relax and enjoy morning coffee, lunches and afternoon tea whilst taking in the spectacular views of Ullswater and the surrounding mountains.
Open throughout the day to residents and non-residents. A wide range of speciality coffees, teas and herbal teas and a wide choice of alcoholic beverages including cocktails and real ales are available.
Orangery
The Orangery at the Inn on the Lake, Ullswater was created using a very sympathetic yet contemporary approach, using architectural design that evokes the tradition of an orangery whilst making the most of the super impressive panoramic views.
The hotel is situated on the shores of Lake Ullswater and is surrounded by stunning lake and fell views. The finished look is a modern space that evokes a sense of elegance and tranquillity, drawing in the outdoors with floor-to-ceiling windows.
The 360 degree view is breath taking, accentuated by simple, yet equally dramatic furnishings to complement. It’s up to date with a rustic twist, with a stunning centrepiece overhead in the form of a dazzling Italian Crystal globe.
The Orangery becomes even more enchanting in the evening, illuminated by a blazing fire and twinkling candles, perfect for a romantic evening with cocktails. It’s a truly unique place.
Ramblers Bar & Candleroom
Ramblers Bar is situated within the hotel’s grounds and has always quenched the thirst of walkers and holiday makers alike, so whether you’ve just been for a walk up Helvellyn or are simply passing through, this newly refurbished bar offers real ales and great food that can be enjoyed in comfort.
The Candleroom, opened in June 2016, is a lofty and bright oak beamed room is a stunning glass fronted extension to Ramblers Bar. Classically modern with aubergine, plum and pewter grey plush fabrics, comfy dining chairs. The beams are adorned with church candles hanging.
For evening celebrations the modern lights, which can change colour to match any colour scheme and an entertainment licence, make Ramblers Bar and the Candleroom the perfect venue for parties, wedding and celebrations – available for private hire.
Afternoon Tea
The relaxing atmosphere of the Inn on the Lake makes it the perfect place to enjoy afternoon tea. The cosy atmosphere of the lounges and orangery with their roaring fire offers a wonderful spot to indulge in a luxury afternoon tea during the winter months.
Or in the warmer months the large outside terrace and gardens are a bright alternative with beautiful surroundings and views to the Lake. From mid-November until early January we serve a festive afternoon tea.

What better way to spend Sunday than relaxing with a Sunday lunch in our Lake View Restaurant. Sit down with your tipple of choice and a plate brimming with a juicy, local roast, fluffy Yorkshire puddings, lashings of gravy and all the trimmings.
