OWNER’S COTTAGE
Spectacularly situated on Lake Wakatipu, this exclusive villa offers magnificent views from every angle of the Remarkables, Cecil and Walter Peak mountain ranges. Just seven minutes from Queenstown, it provides an alpine lakeside retreat in one of the world’s most serenely beautiful landscapes.

The mountain panorama is an imposing backdrop for this intimate, personal hideaway, which boasts a spacious main lounge, study, kitchen and dining room. Offering accommodation for up to eight guests, each of the four generous bedrooms has its own private balcony with lake and mountain views.

An outdoor courtyard area with barbecue and kitchen with extensive cooking facilities ensure the villa is fully equipped for a chef if private in-house dining is preferred. Your private oasis is made complete with open fireplaces in lounge and dining, as well as a spectacularly located, infinity edge hot tub on main balcony.

Matakauri Lodge Head Chef Jonathan Rogers delivers an exquisite take on modern New Zealand cuisine.Sourcing the very best produce from local suppliers in the Central Otago Region, Rogers and Matakauri Lodge offers a unique dining experience in a luxurious setting.

As Rogers showcases local seasonal produce with clean, fresh flavours in an a la carte menu that changes daily, guests are left to appreciate the stunning mountain panorama and a truly world-class wine menu. Rogers says his cuisine is heavily influenced by the landscapes and environs of Central Otago.

“By changing the menus daily, it allows myself and the team the opportunity to utilize seasonal local produce of the highest quality, and to tailor the menus around each guests’ individual likes and needs. I work closely with a number of local purveyors and farmers to source the finest quality produce that showcases the very best of the region.”

Guests can choose from a variety of dining spaces, including the Library, Dining Room, Remarkables Patio, Courtyard and Lounge, with private dining arranged upon request.

The Gibbston Valley is one of the most spectacular wine regions you are likely to encounter. Vineyards are patchworked precariously between dramatic schist ranges and the steep Kawarau River gorge.

A relatively young wine growing region, the first vines were planted in the early 1980s by legendary local character Alan Brady. The land was rugged and uncompromising, home only to high country sheep farmers, and most thought he was crazy!

But the landscape reminded Brady of the Bourdeaux region in France and a romantic notion turned out to be a fabulous reality. Today, Central Otago is regarded as one of the top three wine regions in the world for Pinot Noir. The challenging high altitude conditions have led to consistently superb wines and many international awards.

More than 70% of the grapes grown here are pinot noir; the rest are other cold climate varietals including pinot gris, riesling, chardonnay and sauvignon blanc. Whether you are an aficionado or recently introduced to the world of wine, your tour of this spectacular region can be curated specifically to you.

MILDFORD ULTIMATE HELITOUR
Relaxed and unhurried, this remarkable tour takes off from Queenstown and flies over high-country peaks before venturing into the World Heritage listed Fiordland National Park, a wonderland filled with towering mountains, waterfalls and native rain forest.
