Gora Kadan is located on the grounds of Kan’in-no-miya Villa, the former summer villa of a member of the Imperial Family in the town of Gora in Hakone.
In this villa, which blends Japanese tradition along with modern design elements, we offer hot spring waters that flow freely from the source and an authentic kaiseki cuisine prepared with strictly selected seasonal ingredients. Enjoy seasonal kaiseki cuisine at a western villa of the Imperial Family The former Kan’in-no-miya Villa built in the early 1900s in the Showa period tells us a distinguished history of the Imperial Family to the modern days.
In this venerable villa, we hope you enjoy our kaiseki cuisine made with ingredients at the peak of their freshness and cherish the nature of Hakone to your heart’s content. Restaurant Kaiseki Kadan serves kaiseki cuisine to day visitors. Plans at Gora Kadan include dinner and breakfast, and guests do not need to make reservations for the restaurant.
Seasonal and colorful menus are from the blessings of nature Kaiseki has three basic principles: to use ingredients at the peak of their freshness, to cherish the true flavors of each ingredient, and to cook while being mindful toward those who eat them. We prepare seasonal menus that differ each month so that you can enjoy new flavors in different seasons every time you visit us.

Abundant and mildly alkaline hot spring water wells up from private sources on the premises and eases your everyday fatigue. The spa is separated for men and women, and we rotate the baths at night so that you can enjoy them both during your stay.
FAMILY SPA
You can reserve an open-air bath flowing directly from the source with a steam sauna attached for 40 minutes at no additional charge.
SWIMMING POOL
A warm-water swimming pool with an outdoor hot tub. The pool and hot tub are available for use from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for everyone, and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. for junior high school students and younger. The pool is open for guests at no charge. Swimsuits and bathrobes are also available for rent.
BEDROCK BATH
Natural rocks used in the bedrock bath emit far infrared rays, which are said to have a strong detox effect.
