Scuba Diving in Koh Lanta
Koh Lanta is situated in the South Andaman Sea and offers some of the best Dive sites in Thailand that are suitable for both beginners and advanced divers. Lanta Diver at Pimalai will take you out diving for the day, and we will do our best to give you a great and memorable day!

Diving from Koh Lanta with Lanta Diver is possible all year around. Between the October 15th and the May 15th you can dive at Koh Haa, Hin Daeng / Hin Muang, Koh Rok, the Bida islands, Phi Phi islands, Kled Gaew wreck and Koh Maa shipwreck park.

Between the May 15th and the October 15th when the Koh Lanta Marine Park closes it is still possible to dive the Bida Islands, Phi Phi Islands, Hin Bida, Kled Gaew wreck and Koh Maa shipwreck park.

What is Lanta Diver at Pimalai offer
SCUBA diving trips from Koh Lanta, Thailand with Lanta Diver will give you one of the best diving experiences you´ll ever have! Lanta Diver is a family run 5 Star PADI Career Development Center (CDC) situated on the beautiful island Koh Lanta on the west coast of Thailand.

Lanta Diver has been operating since 1999 so we do have a lot of knowledge about diving around Koh Lanta. We run daily trips to the best dive sites around the archipelago of the Andaman Sea.

Lanta Diver only has experienced boat crew and diving staff to ensure you have a fantastic day out! Most of our staff come back to work with us year after year and that is something we are very happy and proud about. Our customers also keep coming back and that makes us even more happy!

Boat departure from Pimalai
For the High season we also plan to run dedicated speedboat trips for Pimalai customers that depart and return to Pimalai. The main site we offer will be Koh Ha but would also be looking at Koh Rok and Hin Daeng/Hin Muang.

The speedboat would depart from Pimalai at 9am and would be a 2 dive trip with a return time of between 1pm to 2 pm depending on the site. These trips will be dependent on customer numbers for a particular site on a certain date so trips will be confirmed closer to the time. Whatever boat you choose Lanta Diver´s staff will be there to take very good care of you!

Boat departure from Saladan
Lanta diver has two big boats and one speedboat. The big boat has plenty of space, a sundeck and seating in the shade. The trip will be a whole day experience and between dives you can relax, sunbathe and of course enjoy delicious Thai food!

During High season we schedule a big boat daily to either Koh Ha or the Bida islands and weekly trips to Hin Daeng/Hin Muang. The speedboat will take you out to the dive sites quicker which is suitable for those who have limited time.

We schedule the speedboat 2 to 3 times a week to Hin Daeng/ Hin Muang and weekly trips to Koh Rok. The speedboat also offers seating in the sun and the shade. Food and drinks are provided on all trips.

Private Charter
If you would want a diving day for only you, your family or friends all our diving boats are available for private Charter. If you would like to enquire, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you for your special trip.

Koh Lanta Dive sites
Lanta Diver is located on Koh Lanta which mean we are fortunate enough to have easy access to the premium diving and snorkeling sites of Thailand. The Dive sites are situated in the south of the Andaman sea and each has its own unique ecosystem with beautiful corals and varied marine life.

Koh Haa
Koh Haa is simply stunning in every way and by far our most popular diving and snorkeling site. It is famous for the “Cathedral” where divers can explore the mysterious two large caverns formed at one of the islands.

There are also stunning coral walls, a beautiful lagoon for nice easy diving, schooling fish, lots of macro and, if you look carefully, we often find some quite unusual aquatic life. The lagoon at Koh Ha also provides a nice, protected area for snorkeling and is suitable for all levels and ages. Koh Ha is one of our favorite Dive sites on Koh Lanta.

The Bida Islands
Koh Bida Nok/Nai and Hin Bida are in the Phi Phi National Marine Park which is easily accessible from Koh Lanta. The Bida islands offer an exciting diving experience with schools of pelagic fish surrounding the reefs, which are often seen hunting the smaller glassfish.

The dive site is also famous for spotting sharks so don’t be surprised if a Black Tip darts past you, or you stumble upon a sleeping Leopard Shark during your dive.

Hin Daeng / Hin Muang (Red rock/Purple rock)
Hin Daeng / Hin Muang is probably the most famous dive site in Thailand and the most spectacular sites accessible from Koh Lanta as a day trip.

These giant pinnacles located in the middle of the Andaman Sea, offer dramatic underwater scenery, with steep walls covered in soft red and purple corals, dropping right down to 60m. Hin Daeng / Hin Muang have it all and we can offer you the chance of a lifetime to experience these beautiful reefs together with schools of pelagic fish and unique macro.

Imagine all of this, and then a Giant Manta Ray or Whale Shark glides past! Given the topography of the site and the conditions we only recommend this site for Advanced divers that have dived recently.

Koh Rok islands
The Koh Rok islands are the paradise islands everyone is searching for – soft white sandy beaches and lush green trees combined with crystal clear waters. For many years Koh Rok has been a popular destination, now we offer you the opportunity to dive around the islands!

The Dive sites around Koh Rok is suitable for all levels of divers even thow the diving is quite easy. The Marine life is various with schools of Snapper, Moray eels, Powder blue surgeon fish, lots of clownfish (known as “Nemo”) and lots of Turtles!

Koh Maa shipwreck park
This shipwreck park is designed to promote conservation, environmental awareness and encourage existing ecosystems. Explore these mysterious vessels and observe how nature begins to engulf everything in its path.

See baby corals and schools of fish establish themselves where there once was nothing. Nearby there is an existing reef that in time will spawn and grow over these sunken treasures. Some nudibranchs have already found their new home here. Ideal for all level of divers and is also good for AOW Adventure dives.

Mangrove Tour
Tung Yee Peng Village is a small village on the East coast of Koh Lanta. At the edge of the water, a bridge welcomes you and on the other side, there is a path going through the mangroves. You can spend around 15 minutes exploring the mangrove on your own, then jump into a boat to go through small canals sneaking into the mangrove.

The continued existence of our mangrove swamps is crucial, they are absolutely unique: they not only filter and purify the water, they provide essential nutrients.

In addition, they provide breeding conditions for most species of tropical fish, absorb massive amounts of carbon, and pump oxygen into our skies. They even provide a natural barrier to the erosive powers of the ocean. While man continues to ignore the massive problem of wastewater, at least the mangroves are doing their considerable best to help.

THE HISTORY
Our Story – Nakamanda Resort & Spa first opened its doors to guests in 2004. A proud moment for the owner Mr Weera Purinrak who began the project three years previously with a vision to create a resort that guests could call home on the exotic shores of Krabi.

Mr Purinrak has always had a deep passion for the water, as a youth would take frequent excursions on the sea to tropical destinations such as Phi Phi Island before the tourist crowds arrived. ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN

Rayavadee is situated in the heart of Krabi’s beautiful Phranang Peninsula on the border of Krabi Marine National Park, an area renowned for its natural beauty and rich flora, fauna and marine life. When the resort was built more than two decades ago, it was with the idea of living in balance within this unique environment.

The accommodation was constructed to nestle in between the property’s many trees, none of which were cut during the process, in order to blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings.

SAI MONGKOL THAI CEREMONY

Sai Mongkol is the sacred string meant to bind two people for life. In this traditional Thai blessing, simple white cotton thread is looped in circles and placed on the heads of the bride and groom, to unite the couple’s souls.

This is then followed by a water blessing ritual where the wedding guests, beginning with the parents and the most respected elders of the wedding party, approach the kneeling bride and groom to pour scented water over their hands from a sacred conch shell as they offer their best wishes for a happy life together to the couple. This simple but elegant ceremony is steeped in Thai history and tradition.

BUDDHIST CEREMONY

ENLIVE FOUNDATION:

Rayavadee is also a founding member of the Enlive Foundation, which was started to address the issues threatening the well-being of the eco-system of the peninsula including wastewater management, rubbish disposal, noise pollution and reef degradation,

The organization brings together local businesses, community members and government figures to work towards finding solutions to these growing challenges.

In 2012, Enlive held its first annual Krabi EnLive Sea Kayak Thailand Championship with the cooperation of the Rowing and Canoeing Association of Thailand with rowers from around Southeast Asia joining the event.

Each year, there is also a sea turtle and marine life release event that accompanies the races to cultivate conservation awareness. In 2014, with the support of the Thai Navy, Enlive Foundation launched their ‘Underwater Learning Park’ project by sinking 4 decommissioned navy warships off the coast of Phranang Beach to encourage the return of healthy marine life and as a stand-in for the threatened natural reefs of the area.

WASTE WATER MANAGEMENT:
As the Phranang Peninsular is not linked to the provincial water supply and waste water treatment facilities, Rayavadee has to source for subterranean water while ensuring that the resort releases no water discharge into the ocean.

The outcome of the treatment system we developed to meet these needs is fresh water clean enough for our ponds and perfect for many kinds of fish to thrive in.

The systems also manage to return water supply into the earth as the resort uses the treated water to water the plants, thus giving the water back to the soil.

As part of our efforts towards sustainability, a composting site has also been built in which all our food waste from the kitchen and restaurants is composted together with garden waste. In addition, all of our garden waste is used for making microbial, environmentally-friendly fertilizers.

FLORA AND FAUNA
Rayavadee is spread over 26 acres of lush, tropical landscapes and surrounded by towering limestone, jungle-topped cliffs on the edge of Krabi Marine National Park.

For those who appreciate the beauty and diversity of nature, a stroll through the resort grounds is certainly a highlight of any visit with more than 120 types of plants and tropical trees and more than 250 types of ferns and herbal trees to discover.

Many of them such as the Tamarind, Gooseberry, Mango and Coconut, are edible and provide essential ingredients for a number of traditional Thai recipes.

We also have a variety of medicinal plants such as the Sea Lily, the White Bat Flower and the Spiral Flag, whose healing properties have been incorporated into Thai remedies for ailments ranging from toothache and sore throats to stomach disorders and coughs.

Others such as the Lotus flower have religious symbolism and are used in Buddhist offerings and ceremonies. One can learn many things about Thai culture by studying our gardens.

No visit to our resort would be complete without at least one sighting of the delightful Spectacled Langurs jumping through the branches of the trees overhead or of the families of Macaque monkeys that inhabit the nearby cliffs.

DESTINATION
Krabi lies along the coast of the Andaman Sea in Southern Thailand, 800 kilometers south of Bangkok. A growing destination, Krabi is the perfect choice for those looking for relaxation and soft adventure due to the area’s plentiful natural attractions which include white sand beaches, crystal clear water, extensive coral reefs, caves and waterfalls.

Krabi boasts over 130 islands, including Koh Lanta and Phi Phi Island, which offer varied options for snorkeling and diving enthusiasts. In addition to the islands, there are waterfalls, hot springs, a lively morning market in Krabi Town and the famous Buddihist pilgrimage site of Tiger Cave Temple.

WEATHER:

Krabi is blessed with a warm and pleasant climate, with the air and sea temperature usually hovering around a perfect 28 C year round.

From November through April, the weather is usually dry and cool while from May to October, you can expect more frequent rain showers that colour the jungle and surrounding mountains a lovely palette of green.

A NOTE ON OUR BEACHES:

The three beaches that border Rayavadee are part of krabi Marine National Park and regulations are strictly in place to upkeep the preservation of this unique ecological area.

As such, sun lounges are not permitted to be placed directly on the beach. For guests’ comfort and relaxation, Rayavadee provides these at The Umbrella Tree Court overlooking Phranang Beach as well as by the pool next to Railay Beach.

Please note that all beaches in Thailand are public and the area around the resort is visited by other boats and travelers throughout the year. During long weekends and festive periods such as Christmas/New Year and Chinese New Year, the beaches are busier than usual, particularly between the hours of 10am-4pm.
