Treasure is extremely proud to be a Sustainable Tourism Champion, working with the South Pacific Tourism Organisation on their pilot project to develop bench marking criteria for the region’s hospitality industry.

The Sustainability Monitoring Program aims to facilitate effective monitoring of the efforts being put in to support national, regional and global initiatives in marine and ocean conservation, reduction in energy and water consumption, waste management, community livelihoods and employment.

Through developing procedures and indicators to measure progress and facilitate proper documentation, efforts can then be quantified and communicated.

ROOMS & SUITES
Treasure Island Resort is the only Resort located on a 14.5 acre coral cay island in Fiji and We take pride in our accommodation options with 78 traditional Fijian styled Villas called Bures.

Our bures have just recently been renovated where we offer the Premium Beachfront Bure, the Premium Oceanview Bure & our Oceanview Bure. We also have interconnecting bures for each of the 3 types and this is perfect for families.

ELUVUKA RESTAURANT
The main dining restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. To start your day in style you can choose from continental breakfast with cereals; fresh fruit and crudités; yoghurt; home-baked bread, pastries and muffins; homemade muesli, chutneys, jams, syrups and purees; freshly squeezed juice and selections of cold meats and home smoked fish.

Or go for the full breakfast and indulge in freshly made to order eggs and omelettes, bacon, sausages, pancakes, waffles and much more! We recommend you book a table for dinner with our restaurant staff if you prefer to be seated somewhere in particular.

JETSKI SAFARI
The BEST way to get up close and personal with the picturesque Mamanuca Islands! Come and join us on our guided 2.5 hour Jet-ski Safari where you’ll not only pass by some of the most beautiful islands but get the chance to relax with the sand between your toes on a deserted sandbar.

Additionally you’ll get to experience our stunning underwater world, teaming with an amazing variety of colorful tropical fish, when we stop for a spot of swimming. So come on and spoil yourself – it’s one not to be missed!

SNORKELING
Plunge into the vivid turquoise waters surrounding Treasure Island on a guided snorkel safari. The ocean around our island is abundant with tropical reef fish and colourful hard and soft corals, truly a treat for the eyes!

Our knowledgeable guides lead tours from both the shore or boat depending on how far you’d like to go out/what you’d like to see! For those feeling a little more adventurous and with a sense of exploration we offer guided night snorkel tours too! FISHING
Want to catch your own dinner? We’ve got you covered! Come and join our experienced guides who have been fishing these waters for years. Treasure Island water-sports offers either a 2-hour Reef Trolling trip or a 4 hour Sports Fishing charter.

The waters around the Mamanuca Islands are famed for their abundance of fish with the likes of Spanish Mackerel, Giant Trevally, King Fish, Mahi-Mahi, Yellow Fin Tuna, Sail Fish & Marlin to name but a few. For those of you wanting to bring your catch back for dinner our Chef can cook and plate it for you (at an additional charge – please enquire at the restaurant).

SEMI-SUBMERSIBLE
Our specially designed underwater viewing vessel is a semi-submersible vessel that gives you a unique perspective of Fiji’s underwater world because you are looking side on at the coral reefs and fish life – unlike in a glass-bottom boat where you are looking down from above.

We explore the surrounding Marine Reserve and the outer edge of the reef where the fish are in abundance (especially when it’s feeding time!). Our crew provides a running commentary pointing out the marine life you’ll see and there are identification charts on board.

SCUBA DIVING IN FIJI 
Treasure Island’s PADI Dive & Water-sports Centre is surrounded by stunning turquoise water and tropical island scenery so let us take you to another world! The prime location right in the heart of the Mamanuca Islands allows easy access to a multitude of diverse dive sites catering to both beginner and experienced divers alike.

Our stunning underwater world is what Fiji’s diving is all about – teeming with marine life and boasting a plethora of colourful corals just waiting to be explored. Our beautiful island retreat offers a full service PADI Dive Centre with its own dedicated dive training pool making it the ideal choice for first time divers.

For the certified divers amongst you fun diving is what it’s all about! Scuba dive in our beautifully warm, clear water while having the opportunity to choose between 30 dive sites! From pinnacles, to plateaus, to wrecks and shark dives there’s something for everyone!

First time diving? Not a problem! Our highly experienced team of PADI Instructors are here to guide you comfortably and safely through our dive programmes. Minimum age to try diving is 8 years old so it’s a chance for the whole family to try diving together!

Take your scuba diving to the next level by improving your skills and building on your knowledge through continuing education. Our friendly staff can take you from the Advanced Open Water Diver Course all the way through to your first professional level of diving – Divemaster!

LAND BASED ACTIVITIES

SURFING IN FIJI 
Fiji is famous for its amazing waves and surfers from around the globe travel from near and far to stake their claim at arguably some of the South Pacific’s finest breaks. Chasing swells and livin’ the tropical lifestyle dream.

The Mamanuca Islands is by far the most consistent place to score it good in Fiji. Located approximately 45-minute boat ride (faster by helicopter) from mainland the Mamanuca group is quite literally a surfers’ paradise. Seasonally May to October is the ideal time of year for surf, however there are incoming swells year-round.

Well known surf spots such as Namotu Lefts, Restaurants, Wilkes Pass, Swimming Pools, Desperations and the infamous Cloudbreak are all within a close radius to each other. This makes picking your place to paddle out easy as different breaks work on different angle swells and winds. If one spot isn’t happening you’re likely to find another that is.

Many of the popular waves here in the Mamanucas are only suitable for advanced surfers, especially when it’s huge. However there’s plenty of opportunities for intermediate surfers to score the wave of their life if the tidal conditions are right.

Wilkes Pass is a decent intermediate break if it’s under 3ft – best to sit along the shoulder of the wave and watch the sets before taking the drop.

The International World Surfing League holds a championship event in Fiji annually. Professional surfers agree it to be one of the most popular places on tour, not just because of the epic reef breaks but also because they adore visiting Fiji and engaging with local culture.

A scenic boat ride takes you to the aforementioned surfing spots. The vibe out here is filled with a tangible sense of anticipation and excitement as surfers look forward to some of the best waves of their lives. Surfing here is also an exciting spectator sport.

Those who enjoy the tropical lifestyle will find themselves watching on in admiration. It’s not unusual for an impromptu cheer to erupt from the boats when a surfer exits from a deep South Pacific Ocean barrel. Smiles for miles!

By far the most well-known wave in the Fijian archipelago is Cloudbreak. Just off Tavarua Island the wave holds an almost mythical status to surfers and is frequently named as one of the top 5 waves in the world alongside Hawaii’s famed Pipeline and Tahiti’s notorious Teahupoo.

Cloudbreak can easily hold a 10 foot swell and is not for the faint hearted! It’s no place to hesitate. Once you’ve committed to the steep wave face you’ve no choice but to ride it since the shallow reef isn’t exactly forgiving.

And when a surfer is locked into the Cloudbreak barrel there’s not much margin for error. In saying that getting tubed out here, no matter the wave height, is an unforgettable experience. Often described as addictive and precisely why surfers worldwide continually return to Fiji to get their power surfing fix.

Pack a few boards, swell size can change rapidly in Fiji. You don’t want to be caught out with a board that’s too small nor too big. One of each should suffice. Sunscreen, zinc, hats. C’mon you’re in the tropics and sunburn ain’t fun.

There’s a few established learn to surf companies in Fiji that offer lessons for all ages. A quick web search will source the best. Wind surfing and Stand-Up Paddle Surfing are increasingly popular water sports in Fiji. As mentioned previously. The surf is usually better in the morning before the wind picks up.
