Midway between Avenue Montaigne and Rue du Faubourg St-Honoré, a stone’s throw from the Champs-Elysées, La Réserve Paris – Hotel and Spa overlooks some of the city’s key sights: the Eiffel Tower, the Pantheon, the Grand Palais and the Concorde obelisk. Just in front, a majestic curtain of trees preserves the area’s intimacy, like an echo of the Elysée gardens close by.

The extremely intimate La Réserve Paris – Hotel and Spa is entirely in tune with the spirit of Michel Reybier establishments. A far cry from traditional 5-star palace hotels, La Réserve Paris – Hotel and Spa exudes the atmosphere of a private urban mansion, open to guests sharing a certain travel philosophy.

There is no classic reception area, with guests instead personally welcomed in the Louis XV Salon and then guided to their suite or room so as to feel immediately at ease, much like arriving at a friend’s home.

More suites than rooms, spacious areas in a revisited classical style, a range of amenities expressing a certain vision of savoir vivre: a library reserved for guests and their friends, a smoking lounge, a 16-meter indoor pool (an extremely unusual feature in Paris), wine cellars in the suites…

A world designed for epicureans, who appreciate ultra-personalized services, representing rare and all the more precious tokens of attention. The typical early 20th century Haussmann-style architecture proved the perfect setting for interior designer Jacques Garcia, chosen by Michel Reybier for his special affinities with that particular era.

All around are vast areas bathed in light, barely muted by the rich fabrics of the hangings. Scattered here and there are beautiful marble fireplaces, and everywhere the joy of vast indoor spaces, evoking an almost forgotten spirit of generosity.

The renovation work served to recover old ornamentation, woodwork, moldings and forgotten cornices. Other vestiges of the original building were unearthed, especially in the Louis XV Salon – a precious basis for recreating the atmospheres of the period.

Walls in all suites and rooms are adorned with a delicate set of highlighted moldings, dentil cornices and decorative carved friezes. Engraved Cordoba leather trims the lift doors and the contours of the bar, while embossed motifs enhance the corridors around the black and gold-lacquered doors.

THE QUINTESSENCE OF THE HAUSSMANN SPIRIT
The much sought-after district of the 8th arrondissement first earned its credentials in the early 19th century. Over the years, the emergence of the famous nearby ‘Golden Triangle’ has made this quadrangle even more valuable – to the point of it becoming the symbol of Parisian lifestyle.

The history of Avenue Gabriel perfectly embodies the quintessence of the Haussmann spirit. In 1818, Avenue de l’Elysée, which had existed since the creation of the Champs-Elysées in 1670, was extended beyond Avenue de Marigny, right up to Place de la Concorde.

It was then named Avenue Gabriel, in tribute to the architect Ange-Jacques Gabriel (1698-1782). In his role as First architect to the King, he created the Place Louis XV, which is today known as Place de la Concorde.

At the beginning of the 19th century, and then during the Second Empire, the Champs-Elysées district became the prime location for elegant Parisian life. Alongside the six houses bordering Avenue des Champs-Elysées in 1800, luxurious dwellings – Haussmann urban mansions, buildings or bourgeois homes – soon appeared.

All the gardens were assigned to the Paris Municipality that developed them, building pavements and then four fountains. In 1854, the construction of the building located on the angle of Avenue Gabriel and the Rue du Cirque became part of this dynamic.

It belonged to the family of the Duke of Morny, a powerful figure in the Second Empire. The illegitimate son of Hortense de Beauharnais and the half-brother of Napoleon III, the Duke of Morny had a number of illustrious ancestors, including his grandfather, Talleyrand.

This ambitious visionary swiftly understood the changing 19th century French society and the consequences of the industrial revolution. Following a glorious military career, he changed course, leveraging his business acumen and political talent.

Upon being elected as a member of parliament for Clermont-Ferrand in 1842, he invented lobbying on behalf of the sugar industry. This aristocrat, dandy, art collector, racehorse owner and developer of the Longchamp racecourse was the man who first launched Deauville as a fashionable resort.

Owned by the Duc of Morny’s family until 1888, the building was completely occupied by large apartments. Subsequently acquired by an insurance company, it became the property of Pierre Cardin’s Compagnie and subsequently of Michel Reybier and his family.

ROOMS & SUITES
The 25 suites and 15 rooms at La Réserve Paris – Hotel and Spa offer a refined reflection of the quintessence of 19th century Parisian chic. Silk hung walls, damascene brocade taffeta, velvet drapes, waffle weave fabrics, herringbone oak parquet, unique pieces of antique furniture.

Rooms are spacious and the atmosphere can be adapted at will thanks to an interactive tablet that controls the TV, the temperature and the lighting. The bathrooms in Carrara and Turquin blue marble are equally spacious and mostly bathed in natural light.

La Réserve Paris offers suite in a private home. It’s more than just a suite: an authentic Parisian apartment all to oneself. Interpreted in a palette of four gentle shades, all the suites at La Réserve Paris – Hotel and Spa are different.

They are unique, both on principle and for the sheer pleasure of discovering in each instance a distinctive place imbued with original charm. Spread out between the first and fifth floors, their generous floor plans range from 50 to over 200 sq.m., and some feature communicating doors.

Each room and each suite has its dedicated butler, a magician who handles every detail of daily life.

A virtuoso in the art of anticipating each guest’s desires, always close by and available at a touch of the special button on the in-suite iPad, he ensures perfect homelike comfort in a supremely discreet way: packing or repacking, running a bath or rustling up a meal as the fancy may take you, 24/7.

No strict room service menu here: just say the word and look forward to savoring the finest seasonal produce prepared by the chef of Le Gabriel. As Marie-France, the Golden Keys head concierge, aptly puts it: “This is a place not for sleeping, but for dreaming…” There is also full access to persons with reduced mobility.

GRAND PALAIS SUITE
Like the emblematic monument after which it is named, the Grand Palais suite embodies the art of living on a grand scale that is so very rare in Paris. As soon as guests cross the threshold, they immediately find themselves in an extremely beautiful Parisian apartment from the Belle Epoque: an age when there was no stinting on square meters nor on volumes, which are truly extraordinary here.

In 1900, the Grand Palais had been built to magnify “French art” at the World’s Fair. Today, this suite also pays tribute to a proud French heritage, with its authentic Napoleon III furniture, its antiques lovingly collected over the years, as well as its historical or contemporary works bridging the centuries.

Playing the role of guest star, the Eiffel Tower may be admired from the balcony, as can the majestic glass roof of the Grand Palais. As soon as night falls, the magnificently illuminated monument puts on a show of which one never tires.

This over 200 sq.m. suite is composed of two generous lounge areas, two private bars, a wine cellar offering Grand Cru vintages, two bedrooms, each with its own large dressing room, and a Carrara marble bathroom featuring a bathtub with a view over the Eiffel Tower or the Grand Palais, an Italian-style shower and twin vanity sinks.

ELYSEE SUITE
On the fifth and top floor, Paris becomes simply magical from the many windows and balconies of this exceptional suite, offering plunging views over the Nave of the Grand Palais, the gilded sculptures of the Alexandre III bridge and the soaring silhouette of the Eiffel Tower.

The huge lounges set the “tone” for this exceptional place. The herringbone-patterned wooden flooring echoes the ornate moldings on the ceiling, itself decked out in bespoke wallpapering in the grand tradition of the French decorative arts.

Each trinket, each antique, each piece of period furniture exalts this magnificent historical heritage. To enable guests to savor the French art of living as true aesthetes, the suite has two private bars stocked with exceptional vintages.

A unique experience that more than ever justifies the title of the famous song “Paris, c’est magnifique”. This 170 sq.m. suite is composed of a spacious lounge, two private bars, a wine cellar offering Grand Cru wines, two bedrooms each with its own dressing room and a Carrara marble bathroom fitted with a bathtub, an Italian-style shower and twin vanity sinks.

IMPERIAL SUITE
The splendid decor is pervaded with the spirit of the Emperor Napoleon, first and foremost thanks to the period furniture celebrating the Empire style in all its magnificence through pieces adorned with black lacquer, gold filigree work and precious inlays, along with damascene silk brocaded hangings graced with medallion motifs.

Above and beyond the style itself, hints of imperial Paris can also be glimpsed on the other side of the Seine, with the gold dome of the Invalides housing the tomb of Napoleon.

From the fifth floor, the delightful private balcony affords a chance to admire at leisure Eiffel Tower, the glass roof of the Grand Palais and the steeple of Notre-Dame, as the great Parisian classic landmarks steal the show from Napoleonic monuments…

Red shades, handpicked antiques, a private bar, a wine cellar stocked with Grand Cru wines, a herringbone-patterned wooden flooring, precious fabrics, a spacious dressing room.

The atmosphere of this 118 m2 suite is truly magical and can be adjusted as the fancy takes you by means of the interactive tablet. The Carrara marble bathroom has a bathtub, an Italian-style shower as well as twin vanity sinks. The Imperial Suite may be arranged to communicate with the Premier Junior Suite.

In a capital offering such a stimulating culinary environment as Paris, La Réserve rises to the challenge with two restaurants, overseen by Executive Chef Jérôme Banctel. At the heart of the 8th arrondissement, a few steps from the Champs-Elysées and the Place de la Concorde, Le Gabriel and La Pagode de Cos embody two interpretations of a single-minded vision of excellence.

Michelin two-starred le Gabriel offers an unforgettable gourmet experience, revisiting the great classics of french gastronomy. La Pagode de Cos, Jérôme Banctel’s second restaurant at la Réserve Paris, honors the wealth of the seasonal produce.

LE GABRIEL RESTAURANT
Awarded two Michelin stars after just one year in operation, Le Gabriel has made a majestic entrance onto the Parisian gastronomy scene and found its place at the peak of the capital’s demanding gourmet culture. Within the prestigious Napoleon III style interior design created by Jacques Garcia, Jérôme Banctel offers virtuoso interpretations of a magnificent culinary ‘score’.

In tribute to his native region, the coriander-flavored Brittany artichoke heart and the Vendée pigeon with cacao and crunchy buckwheat have already become signature dishes at Le Gabriel.

Grand classics of French cuisines are revisited with considerable talent, inspired by Jérôme Banctel’s many visits to Japan. Trained by the greatest names in the business, he is considered the spiritual son of Alain Senderens, under whom he worked at the famous Lucas-Carton restaurant.

The maestro taught him to adopt a rigorous approach to selecting produce, to respect authentic tastes, as well as the art of enhancing them by meticulously chosen wines.

The passionate and demanding Executive Chef of Le Gabriel pursues his quest for perfection with unwavering constancy, building on impeccable technique to exalt the intensity of each flavor. A bold, pure and incredibly appealing style

Buzzing with Parisian effervescence, ideal for a business meeting, a relaxed afterwork get-together, a cocktail with friends or a glass of champagne for two, Bar Le Gaspard is fast becoming a new favorite with locals.

With its double terrace directly accessible from Avenue Gabriel, its chic yet relaxed decor, Le Gaspard rocks to the rhythm of the capital, in a musical atmosphere put together by designer and producer Raphaël Hamburger. Bar Le Gaspard pays tribute to Louis-Gaspard d’Estournel, pioneer of the Route des Indes for the Bordeaux wine trade and nicknamed the Maharajah of Saint-Estèphe.

The founder of the Domaine de Cos d’Estournel, which today belongs to Michel Reybier, owner of La Réserve, was undoubtedly one of the most visionary entrepreneurs of his time. Alongside the timeless classics, the signature cocktail menu reflects this eclectic inspiration.

Head Barman and mixologist Tinihau Moilon, of Polynesian origin, combines spices and spirits from around the world, while giving pride of place to wines and champagnes from Michel Reybier’s vineyards, while double Michelin-starred Chef Jérôme Banctel creates refined tapas and bouchées imbued with subtly exotic influences.
