Yes, it exists. The House, in the first district. In the first district. Right in the middle of downtown. Right in the heart of the City. Not a large laying battery – we leave that to our competitors.

But a smoothly charming house from the Gründerzeit (19th century), which comes with 26 rooms and suites. Where living spaces are indeed spaces for living, where individuality flourishes and the extraordinary becomes ordinary.

A modest yet wonderful retreat, worth discovering, like Vienna and life itself. Friendly faces without tourist demeanours and interesting people crossing your paths.

Places of Entertainment, designed and made for much more than just sleeping. Here you can experience the gentle craziness and attentiveness of Robert Hollmann, actor, chef and non-hotelier, who aims to awaken passions and fulfil desires.

SEPAREE SUITE
Relaxed getaways and sensual hours. Luxurious living and private receptions, all on a playing area of 95 m² with special highlights. If you want to reside like Mr Hollman himself, the former, repurposed apartment of our boss Robert is just the right place for you.

In addition to a contemporary interpreted recreation room (we affectionately call it the “Tröpferlbad” in Viennese) you can expect an open bathtub for your pleasure and sparkling moments in front of the fireplace. A carved canopy bed is a great place to snooze and to snuggle together.

RESIDENZ XL
Quite honestly, the guy who wrote this text did some research, before he wrote it and was accommodated in one of these rooms, pardon me, residences. All world-class, so he thought, until he wanted to brush his teeth.

He could not find the bathroom because it was hidden behind the supposed wardrobe facade. He called the reception and, got a charming introduction to the world of Hollmann. Doorknob found, toothbrush in hand, triumphant entry and a feeling of happiness quickly followed.

And otherwise? Bookable for up to four people, air-conditioning, fresh fruit, a sofa … whatever – please read on below. Thank you and have a lot of fun. PS: The above quote is not from the writer, but from Walter de Silva, automotive designer.

BELETAGE XL
The little sister, room category Beletage M, is already living up to it: airy & easy-going living with style and class. The big sister, Beletage XL, applies a bit more of all this. True accommodation dreams have emerged on a whopping 35 m2 – with a freestanding bathtub based on the idea of the modern “live-in bathroom”.

Surprises in every nook and cranny, a feeling of living as if from a picture book. The tad of luxury that you desire – without overloading it. PS: Bookings of up to 3 people are taken.

BELETAGE M
You open the door, take 3 steps, stop and look. Take it in. You can feel the past of the Gründerzeit building, you see the modern interpretation of life in Vienna with a charming dash of zeitgeist. With a bathroom integrated into the living area, open and intimate at the same time. Sweet welcome treat. High-tech, minibar & safe for security.

THE BREAKFAST
Breakfast in our Viennese Place of Entertainment is not a bitter battle for the last croissant, but a culinary delight à la Hollmann. The experience actually begins when you enter the small but excellent breakfast room.

Our temporary residents are greeted warmly and individually before being led to the table. This is followed by a generous selection of food and beverages in the form of a menu which changes every 3 days.

Served on the proprietary Hollmann tableware, the foundation stone of the multifaceted breakfast is usually a regional cheese & sausage platter, fantastic coffee from Lake Millstatt in all imaginable forms, a variation of regional breads and pastries, and freshly pressed fruit juice. You might think that this is it, but we are just getting started.

THE COFFEE
“The coffee is ready” tunes the frivolously gentle song by Peter Cornelius, the time-honoured Viennese pop music artist, who has awakened not only his beloved but the whole of Austria with these words over and over again.

His declaration of love, his reminiscence of this deliciously seductive beverage, is given a very special meaning in the Beletage. It is celebrated, idolised, with the cups proverbially presented on silver tablets. And what few people know is that it is called “the coffee from the Lake”.

Hardly anyone would suspect the great Carinthian craftmanship behind this heavenly stretch of water. In Millstatt am See, the 100% Arabica beans are refined by the Helml brothers who understand their craft. You can smell and taste it. Italian espresso paired with Austrian sophistication – so it comes to the table to enchant your digestion.

DINING
A main course already for breakfast? With us this is nothing extraordinary. We offer a seasonal smorgasbord of Viennese delicacies, egg dishes and homemade desserts, which can be easily adapted to the needs and wishes of our house guests.

Whether it’s a tasty vegetable omelette, a classic soft-boiled egg or a slice of Viennese Leberkäse meatloaf – your wish is our command. Those who like it a little more fancy choose our daily changing “egg of the day”, a special egg creation of our breakfast chef.

If you want to pass away the time while waiting for your individual dish, you can watch our chef preparing it. The open show kitchen opens up insights into the art of cooking, and tips & tricks are happily passed on to our guests. Like when you visit friends.

Not only Hansel and Gretel love crispy snacks. For those with small appetites there is our small, self-service buffet, with a rich selection of cereals, creamy yoghurts, fresh farmer’s or wholemeal bread and finely sliced fruit salad.

But what would a fluffy loaf of bread be without the right topping? Choose from homemade, seasonal jams, fantastic bee honey or the well-known chocolate hazelnut spread that delights the palate and the soul.

You certainly know the phrase, “It’s my one and only treat.” Accordingly, we put a bottle of sparkling wine on ice every day.

From “A” for “apple strudel” to “Z” for “zesty lemon tart”, the patisserie does by no means come up short. To top off the meal, we like to create our own “dessert of the day”. Some examples include a cup cake with soft chocolate core, a wafer-thin crepe with homemade jams or a lovely piece of Viennese apple strudel.

Varied, fresh and simply delicious are the preferred attributes for our sweet delicacies. You will learn that our ultimate goal is the bliss of our esteemed guests, by all permitted and unauthorised means. Served every day with full dedication.

Most of you, who have already indulged in this caprice of nature called Leberkäse, produced by the craftsmanship of master butchers, probably won’t know that with this piece of Old Viennese tradition, you have laid hands on a piece of neighing and not oinking origin.

Surely you have heartily devoured it, flanked with mustard on a crispy “Semmerl” (bread roll) and wondered about its name, which literally means “liver cheese”?

The smart and honourable Viennese people will forever defend “their” horse meat Leberkäse, which has been a tradition for centuries and is now experiencing a renaissance. Not without reason horse meat is nowadays considered a delicacy and not only in Vienna.

Why are we telling you all of this? Because we are offering this fine cuisine – all inclusive and basically for free – to our guests at our “Original Altwiener Leberkäse-Jausenstation“ (Original Old Viennese Leberkäse Snack Station) to enjoy in the afternoons.

And because our horse meat Leberkäse goes well with drinks, we wash it down with freshly tapped Ottakringer Helles beer. Enjoy the meal and cheers as long as the stock lasts.

VIENNESE COSINESS
Whether you want it or not, you will feel itand be embraced by it. You will hardly be able to escape the charming cosiness of our hotel. Behind the facades of the Gründerzeithaus, you will feel how time runs a little bit slower.

The hustle and bustle of everyday life has to wait outside. We see it in the way our guests talk and walk. Everything is a little quieter and more serene.

While yesterday there was still the demanding pace of everyday work, and just a while ago outside, there was the hectic discovery run of the Viennese sights, now, in the protection of the Beletage, as if by magic, serenity absorbs the mind and the body.

The guests suddenly have time again; they stroll through the building; they chat in the Altwiener café right next to the reception; they stop by the library on their way to the bar; or they relax and let the day gently pass in the garden. With good conversations and with nice thoughts.

CINEMATIC THEATRE
Many wonder: Why? “Because we can” is the answer of Robert Hollmann, trained actor, chef and non-hotelier. “Because it’s fun and good taste – in combination with the fragrant popcorn*, which is served free of charge for the screenings in the cinematic theatre. Or as the good old Karl Farkas use to say, “Just look at this”.

*Such a pity, we are not able to offer popcorn at the moment. On the other hand ice cream is also a great snack when watching a movie.

THE GARDEN
Whether they are American, French, British, German or Austrian …. they rave about it. Because they wouldn’t have expected it. Therefore quite a few people answer our question, what surprised them most in the Beletage, just like this: The garden, il gardino …

SPA & WELLNESS
As soon as the outside temperatures drop below our body temperatures – which means almost always – the hot chamber lurks in Hollmann’s Beletage. To heat you up vigorously. For all those who can never be hot enough. Pure spa paradise.

GAMES
From time to time, people should play games. This is even written in the Bible. Or something like that. Or maybe just a little bit different. Doesn’t matter. Bread and games for all those who like to fast a little and do without online videos and apps for a while.

In our games room we have turned the walls into true playgrounds. Felt surfaces house game classics such as chess, checkers or backgammon and invite you to vertical pleasure.

What makes us particularly happy, that not only families and their children find a playful pastime here, but also that even “ordinary adults” are caught again and again indulging in this gouging of a different kind. Good thing ambition can’t be drafted on the upwardly open Richter scale. 😉

DISCOVER VIENNA
To pay a courtesy visit to an enchanting old town and to attend upon St. Stephen’s Cathedral, which is just around the corner. To feel the art, history and architecture – or to have a good time at the Heurigen wine bar.

That’s fine. But you might be surprised how sightseeing plans can sometimes be overthrown, because the Beletage, this honourable downtown House has more to offer than expected. Our guests are happy to spend the afternoon indoors.

No wonder, as the delicious assortment of ice cream in our living room is a sweet temptation during hot summer days. By the way spending the afternoon in the Beletage can also mean spending it outdoors – just wait until you see the lovely green courtyard.

Film buffs, on the other hand, may treat themselves to the Third Man in our own cinema, often for the fourth or fifth time. Because it is so good. Speaking of good, often we even see our competitors coming to us for breakfast – maybe because our breakfast alone is worth a trip to Vienna.

ST. STEPHEN’S CATHEDRAL
Whatever brings you to Vienna, whatever images you have in mind – we recommend you also get yourself into things that you might not have expected.

Even if you can find the most beautiful beauties right around the corner of the Hollmann Beletage, within easy walking distance. Risk a side leap, jump over your own shadow. And generously give St. Stephen’s Cathedral the absolution.

SECRET TIPS
Leave the nearby State Opera alone and postpone the admiration of our museums until tomorrow. Instead, inhale the fine surprises at the Naschmarkt (a large street food market), draw in the creative energy of the museum quarter, sample haphazardly through Vienna, splash lovingly into the charming Heurigen wine pubs, stumble through the bar mile, which starts about 10 metres from our doorstep … or chat with your hosts at the front desk who will always have an open ear for you – and the best insider tips on top of that.
