Can Aulí Luxury Retreat Mallorca

Far from being a conventional place to sojourn, Can Aulí is a laid-back haven for those looking to slow down and melt into the blissfully languid Mallorcan way of life. Enjoy an afternoon rest to a soundtrack of birdsong, a quiet moment with a book in the shade of a tree or sundowner on a beautifully lit terrace, and you too will fall in love with Can Aulí.

Housed in a 17th-century mansion, Can Aulí bears little resemblance to the traditional idea of a hotel. Its ancient stone arches and staircases ooze historical charm while a refreshing focus on natural materials and local artistry pays homage to the island’s distinct beauty and boundless creativity.

Can Auli’s strong environmental values are notable in everything from the kitchen’s 1-km ingredients and walls’ ecological paint to the bamboo travel kit in your bathroom. Time at adults-only escape Can Aulí ticks along at its own, leisurely pace. You’ll forget all about the more hectic ways of your everyday life as you plunge into a crystalline pool and enjoy a languid breakfast on our photogenic patio.

From indulging in a siesta under the afternoon sun to savouring every sip of a glass of local vino blanco, Can Aulí invites you to breathe in the fresh mountain air and enjoy the beautiful little things in life. Visit evocative Can Aulí and you’ll soon fall into the laid-back groove of island- living

LOCATION
Pollença is exactly like the Mallorca you hoped you would find. It’s authentic, beautiful, and boasts a wonderfully relaxed vibe. Aside from its postcard looks and mellow beat, this get-away-from-it-all escape abounds with history.

Explore ancient ruins and buildings, such as the ‘Santuari de la Mare de Déu del Puig’, a 14th century monastery, or spend your days enjoying the views from the café-lined port or browsing galleries, boutiques and traditional Sunday markets.

Evenings are reserved for sunset strolls and for joining friendly locals on one of the soulful terraces that line Plaça Major. While you take in your picture-perfect surroundings – all wonderfully enhanced by the fading golden light – and to a soundtrack of the gentle murmur of chatter, you can’t help but feel blessed to be here.

Sun-worshippers won’t have to venture far to find the island’s dreamiest beaches. Coves such as Cala San Vicenç, the long sandy beaches of Puerto d’Alcudia and Formentor’s stretch of paradise will forever change your definition of what crystalline water should look like

SUITE
Mesmerising views of our leafy courtyard and Pollenca’s iconic 365 stone steps come courtesy of Suite Can Aulí, our most superlative room. This suite, a one-off jewel, comprises two spacious areas and a magnificent 34 sqm private terrace.

Delightfully serene, the room reflects a soothing natural style and celebrates texture with potted plants, hemp rugs and hand-woven throws. Designer lighting and vivid art works are matched with a warm colour palette of light grey, ecru, beige and amber.

Other charming and spoiling touches include a beautiful stone bath, which begs to be enjoyed in the company of a glass of vino tinto. Dive onto the terrace’s siesta-ready sofa for uncompromising relaxation.

JUNIOR SUITE
Our junior suites display astonishing attention to detail, right down to the hand-crafted mugs by talented local ceramicist, Jaume Roig. Light-filled and commodious, Junior Suites shine through their intimate and inviting atmosphere. In fact, it’s all too easy to spend a quiet, undisturbed morning stretched out on the comfortable sofa with a café con leche and well-thumbed novel in hand.

BREAKFAST
While we can certainly accommodate those who wish to start their day with a large mug of fresh, aromatic coffee, it’s the ‘breakfast-people’ who rhapsodize over our ecological offerings.

Guests can feast on a long and languorous breakfast of freshly picked fruits, thick slices of home-made bread and deliciously cooked dishes which comprise local, seasonal vegetables and eggs laid that very morning. Step into our light-flooded open kitchen and you’ll be greeted by an Insta-worthy display, featuring every shade on the colour wheel.

Buffet counters groan under the weight of local delicacies and oven-fresh goodness while tomatoes on the vine, dried herbs and chillies hang from natural twine and add even more colour and charm to our soulful kitchen. Our smorgasboard of choices abound with delicious vegan and gluten-free options

DINING
Before finalizing our menu of tapas and small plates, we sampled a bevy of delicacies from every corner of our delicious island and country. From melt-in-your-mouth Cantabrian anchovies “00” to crumbly artisanal cheeses and acorn-fed Iberian ham, only the most superlative delicacies passed our rigorous taste test!

The result is an informal yet sophisticated menu which will leave gourmands spoilt for choice. In fact, even the most decisive foodies will experience prolonged moments of indecision before settling on what to feast. Only the finest regional ingredients and expertly purveyed charcuterie and conservas are used to create our Mediterranean-inspired and carefully curated menu.

A wonderful showcase of local delicatessens and tiny producers, the menu includes Can Butxaca ice-cream and Xeixa wheat flour bread. In fact, you may well meet during your visit the farmer who hauls in crates of delicious fresh produce every morning.

Our breakfast menu and daily specials revolve around ingredients which come from his organic farm, located 1 km from the hotel. The thoughtfully selected wines on our list are all expertly produced by small wineries in the region, such as Mortix (Escorca), Can Vidalet (Pollença) and Can Axartell (Pollença)

NATURE & SPORT
Whether you fancy improving your golf swing*, chartering a stunning yacht for the day or donning mask and goggles for an underwater adventure, there are plenty of exhilarating activities from which to choose, given the island’s stunning natural surroundings and abundance of services.

At the foot of the UNESCO listed Tramuntana mountain range, Can Aulí is perfectly positioned for superlative hiking and cycling excursions. Well-marked walking trails gift you views of the dazzling turquoise sea and dramatic limestone peaks, which will leave you speechless.

With a dizzying number of picturesque routes of varying lengths and difficulty, cyclists will also be spoilt for choice. Quiet country roads and exhilarating hair-pin bends lead to emblematic lighthouses, historical castles and secret coves. To further accommodate our guests, we have a dedicated garage where cyclists can safely store their bike.

From planning scenic cycling routes and hiking trails to organizing exhilarating rock climbing or diving excursions, our expert concierge service can organize bespoke experiences that will stay with you long after your spoiling sojourn has ended. Pollença is home to a 9-hole golf course and Club de Golf Alcanada, in Port d’Alcúdia, is one of the country’s most prestigious golf courses
