We are hosts with a passion and transformed our 16-room Alpen Residence into the 5-star Hotel Mirabell South Tyrol a few years ago. We have expanded and extended our exquisite house again and again. It has been well worth the effort.

HISTORY & FAMILY
We feel very fortunate of the fact that hospitality and our love for honest and down-to-earth South Tyrolean cuisine were virtually passed on to us at birth. After all, we grew up in our parent’s hotel and also grew up with the task of looking after our guests.

However, both of us have experience from working away from the hotel too. The apprenticeship as a chef led to becoming “chef de partie” on the “Royal Princess” luxury liner.

That alone extended our horizons in more ways than one … And even so, the dream of owning our own hotel remained with us – even during the twelve years when we owned our own café with the beautiful terrace in Merano.

The first step on the way to our own hotel came when we met in 1996. For our wedding in 1999, our parents gave us a fantastic plot of land in Hafling as a wedding present. Our dream finally materialized in 2004 and included some bureaucratic hurdles along the way.

After just 8 months of construction, the small alpine residence was ready with its 16 rooms. It was no small feat and one thing had been clear to us all along: we had always wanted to offer luxury 5-star comfort!

CHALET SUITES GARDEN SPIRIT
In the chalet suite Garden Spirit, you can let yourself be pampered in your own little wellness oasis: relax in the alpine whirlpool on the vast South-facing loggia or enjoy the quiet on the infrared loungers. Further extras are the comfortable relax couch in the living area, the glazed panoramic shower and a stunning mountain view.

Once the private hunting lodge, retreat and favourite spot of boss Michael Reiterer, our very own mountain pasture is now home to the Chalet ‘M’ mountain pasture. At 1,700 m above sea level, the view into the distance is like a dream.

Your eye will graze upon pointed treetops and spectacular mountain peaks. Set in unique seclusion, the alpine pasture is the perfect place to recharge your batteries. The idea was to adopt rustic features and maintain tradition, whilst adding a few stylish touches. Dedicated craftsmen from the region have turned what was a simple lodge into a true gem.

CHALET M – MOUNTAIN HUT
Explore the joy of the “easy going life“ in the hut in the mountains. Book our Chalet M hut and feel the nature! It doesn’t matter if you’re in two or with your family, the rustic hut offers space for up to 6 people.

It awaits you a cozy living room with kitchen, fireplace, 2 double rooms, bunk beds and one bathroom. Super Highlight: the alp sauna, the little “Kneipp” fountain, BBQ station.

Following services are included: A basket full of South Tyrolean specialties as a welcome gift, transport to the hut and return, mountainbike rental. Lovely Ulli from the Wurzer alp, beside the Chalet M, will take care of your gourmet wishes from the morning until the evening.

DINING
We’ll make your taste buds zing. Our creative kitchen team will spoil you according to all the rules of cooking! The Mirabell gourmet professionals know how to conjure up all kinds of colourful and tasty menus.

Besides taste, quality is our top priority. That is why we prefer to use fresh produce from local farmers, herbs from our own garden or organic meat from our village butcher.

We serve selected wines from our wine shop with our fine food, our sommelier will be happy to help you make your choice. Enjoy culinary luxury with your 3/4 gourmet board morning, noon and night, which is, of course, included.

We also cater to the needs of our guests with food intolerances, as well as vegetarians and vegans. Saving the best till last: Our hotel kitchen has been awarded the Belvita Gourmet Seal and recommended in the Gault Millau and Guide Michelin!
