In the heart of proud Nimes we dreamed Jardins Secrets, where beneath the shimmer of chandeliers intertwines treasures of 18th century from France and Andalousian Spain.

A confidential address hidden in Old Nimes. A former 18th century coach house inherited from the proprietor’s grandmother. After having traveled throughout the world with her husband, a photogragher, and her, a stylist, this artist couple decided to pose their suitcases in this house and create a hotel.

A discreet gate opens to a garden filled with Mediterranean fragrances, bougainvillea, jasmin, orange trees, old rose trees, and the soft murmur of water caressing the marble of an antique fountain.

The gentle swaying of olive tree branches in the breeze gives glimpses of an explosion of red and green. Difficult to imagine that you are in the heart of a city… A magical place, beyond time where one is drawn to lounging under the olive trees or in the refined and hushed elegance of the 18th century salons.

Beside a fireplace where in winter a comforting fire crackles while outside the Mistral wind blows, winged armchairs and sofas recall the decided taste of the epoch for the art of conversation.

Canopied beds, ancient roses and period porcelains create the tone of these 14 rooms with an ambiance of soft-spoken gallantry. Bathrooms become boudoirs with antique baths draped in silks and brocaded fabrics.

The red exterior walls of the 18th century house resembling those of a Tuscan villa illuminated by the Mediterranean south give way once the evening comes to a residence lit up by the glimmer of candlelight. A luxuriant cloistered garden is accessed by several of the salons as well as Napoleon III bar.

Suites
Our Suites are located on the first floor of the cloister, and have a terrace. In a cozy and refined ambiance they each have spacious bathroom boudoirs with shower and bath as well as their own seperate living room.

Junior Suites
Our Junior suites open on to the cloister or have a garden view. With 5 meter ceilings they are magnificiently decorated with a living room corner and a superb bathroom boudoir with shower or bath.

Bar & Lounges
A succession of salons with a refined ambiance and 18th century inspired decors; including a Napoleon III bar dressed in a Zuber wall paper. Around fireplace where in winter a fire crackles as the Mistral howls outside, wing chairs and sofas invite you to partake in the pronounced taste for conversation of another epoch.

Gardens & Cloister
While the cigales sing their praises of southern happiness, the scents of jasmine and roses mingle with the murmur of water carressed by the branches of three-century-old olive trees. Concealed behind a cascade of old fashioned roses, a cloister ‘à l’Italienne’ with a lush garden is lined by several of the salons.

The Spa
We propose a discovery of our “Source des Secrets” spa with its hammam (steam room) and roman bath style pool as you indulge in our ayurveidic and bio skin care.
