Grand Hotel Bohemia Prague

The 1989 Velvet Revolution saved the Grand Hotel from destruction. It was returned to the Steiner family, who sold it to Austria Hotels. The hotel went through significant repair, was newly furnished and in a mere eleven months it was re-opened on 1 October 1993 bearing its present name, The Grand Hotel Bohemia.

Nowadays, this five-star hotel provides accommodation in 79 air-conditioned luxury rooms on eight floors and it can be found again in most guidebooks. It became a member of Gerstner Imperial Hotels & Residences as one of the Group’s eight hotels situated in Austria and the Czech Republic.

ROOMS & SUITES
All our rooms are furnished with elegant dark wood furniture combined with cream-colored upholstery. The spacious and luxurious bathrooms are all equipped with a bath tub, massage-shower, hair dryer, bathrobes, personal scale, cosmetic mirror and cosmetics.

SUITE STEINER
Suite Steiner is the finest room of our luxury hotel and proudly bears the name of the hotel´s founder. It is located on the eighth floor of the building and one of its superior advantages is a beautiful view of Prague – The Old Town, Týn Church and Prague Castle will all seem within reach.

Suite Steiner consists of two separate rooms with the total size of 50sqm. Upon your arrival our employees will welcome you with a welcome drink. The standard furnishing of Suites in Grand Hotel Bohemia is identical to the one of Superior guest rooms.

SUITE CASTLE
Suite Castle, with its size of 42sqm is located on the sixth floor of this modern five star hotel and offers a beautiful view from private balcony (8m2) over the rooftops of the Old Town houses and the Týn church.

Additionally to the two separate rooms, which are divided with two little steps, it also offers Nespresso Coffee Machine Upon your arrival our employees will welcome you with a welcome drink. The standard furnishing of Suites in Grand Hotel Bohemia is identical to the one of Standard guest rooms.

SUITE BOHEMIA
Suite Bohemia, with its size of 42 sqm is located on the seventh floor of this modern five star hotel and offers a beautiful view from private terrace (20 sqm) over the rooftops of the Old Town houses and the Týn church.

Additionally to the two separate rooms, which are divided with two little steps, it also offers Nespresso Coffee Machine. Upon your arrival our employees will welcome you with a welcome drink. The standard furnishing Suites in Grand Hotel Bohemia is identical to the one of Standard guest rooms.

DOUBLE ROOMS
Double guest rooms are furnished with elegant dark wood furniture combined with cream-colored upholstery offer a standard size of 17 – 20sqm, individually controlled air conditioning, mini-bar, work desk, 2 telephones and tea and coffee making facilities.

All the premises of our five star hotel including the guest rooms have a free Wi-Fi internet access. You can choose room either with a large double bed or with two twin beds.

Evening turn-down service is provided. All the guest rooms have many amenities, such as electronic locks, hotel room safes and LCD televisions with satellite TV channels.

Our luxury Steiner´s restaurant offers not only keenly price lunch menu but also a la cart menu specially created by our chef including a variety of seasonal offerings. You can also enjoy unwind over a cup of coffee or another drink of your choice in the Café-bar on the ground floor.

STEINER´S RESTAURANT
Chef Rudolf Nikolai and his team of professionals prepare specialities based on traditional recipes from the Central European region on a daily basis for you. Modern cooking methods, the freshest of ingredients and stylish presentation promise a unique gourmet experience.

In addition to our periodically modified à la carte menu, this luxury hotel restaurant offer meticulously prepared lunchtime menus, served between 12 noon and 3 pm on weekdays. Moreover, we could add your favorite dish to one of our future menus if you request it, so do not hesitate to contact us.

SUNDAY´S BRUNCH
This year we have newly prepared regular Sunday brunches for you in our unique Boccaccio Ballroom with its history dating back to 1927! Treat yourself to a unique experience at the place where the Prague cream of society of the 1920s and 1930s met.

As an appetizer you can try fresh oysters, shrimp, roast beef or duck pate. Then you can continue with veal loin, tuna or goose breast, and finally enjoy panna cotta, chocolate mousse or a punch cake.

Your experience will be enhanced by trying crepes flambéed right at your table, the First Republic style. Live piano music and jazz songs add to the atmosphere. A kids corner is ready for your little ones.

OPERA AT YOUR HAND WITH EXCELLENT ARTISTS
Two opera singers from Czech Opera Houses, instrumentalists from the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra and excellent Salzburg Chamber Soloists form a musical ensemble Amadeus Prague.

They are dressed in historical costumes during the performance and present the most famous arias and duets from the operas “Don Giovanni” (world premiere in Prague 1787), “The Marriage of Figaro” and “The Magic Flute“. Enjoy opera at your hand in the heart of Prague!

HISTORICALLY PROTECTED BALLROOM
Stunningly beautiful historical hall is made of artificial marble, gold and crystals. Not far away from the Old Town Square lays a mythical place were dinner shows and luxury parties took place regularly until the beginning of the communism era.

DINNER INSPIRED BY CZECH AND AUSTRIAN CUISINE
The dinner consists of three courses and is inspired by Czech and Austrian cuisine. It includes pea soup with buttered croutons, popular Beef Bourguignon with baked potatoes and green beans and famous home-made apple strudel with vanilla sauce. Bon appetite!

Capable of hosting up to 120 guests, the hall as well as other venues of our luxury hotel, suitable for festive occasions, is an excellent choice for both your wedding reception and wedding ceremony.

Boccaccio Ballroom with a long history is an ideal place with absolute privacy and no worries about noise. There is also posibility to have the prive bar wth our amazing drinks and cocktails. The boxes around the main area can be used as a place for photo corner, sweet bar, place for gifts etc.

CONFERENCES
The Grand Hotel Bohemia offers unique venues for conferences or company functions, gala evenings and original weddings or private parties. You can amaze your business partners, employees or friends by inviting them to our splendid neo-Baroque Boccaccio ballroom, situated in the basement of the Grand Hotel Bohemia and offering seating for up to 100 people.

Use our Bohemia lounge for smaller business meetings, Christmas parties in smaller rounds or private events with up to 20 people. The lounge of our luxury Prague hotel can be secluded by separating it from the restaurant area or joined together with it for events with more people.

HOTEL MUSIC
The unique atmosphere of our hotel, whose history began in 1927, has been co-created by our colleague, Tomáš: “We choose music for you carefully and sensibly so that you feel comfortable at our hotel and so that you can soak up the atmosphere of the 1930s, which is a period that inspires and delights us.

Besides jazz, blues and swing tunes typical for the beginning of the previous century our music selection also includes songs of many famous classics, French chanson, American soul singing, whose roots are in the inter-war period, and, last but not least, original big bands or string quartets.

And all of that is updated so that every day is unique for you. The music differs in summer and winter and we also take into account different holidays, such as Christmas, New Year’s Eve and Easter, as well as anniversaries connected with Czech composers and music-related events.”

The music plays from both speakers and you can enjoy it from our auto-playing pianos. one of them can be found directly in the hotel lobby, the other in the Boccaccio hall. Happy listening!
