Much loved by locals throughout the years, the Chateau’s past and present is woven into the fabric of Saint Tropez, with its coat of arms first appearing in 1669 and stories about it stretching back into French folklore.

Built in the 19th century, and donated to the officer Henry Brisson de la Messardière and his wife, the artist Louise Dupuy D’Angeac, on their wedding day, a turn of events eventually transformed the family home into a hotel in 1904, destined for aristocratic visitors from Paris.

Throughout the Roaring Twenties, the hotel continued to be the place to stay, with the ornate salons and meticulous gardens fast becoming the backdrop for decadent parties and elegant holidays.

Today, the same spirit remains, with over 103 beautiful rooms and 12.5 sprawling hectares to explore, making Château de la Messardiere the favoured Riviera spot to stay and soak up the Mediterranean sun.

Since 2019, the Château has undergone a glamorous transformation, with exclusive services and new facilities introduced throughout the estate. Completely reworked for summer 2021, guests will enjoy refreshed public spaces and a chic new look for the Valmont Spa.

Craving al fresco dinner? Matsuhisa Saint-Tropez offers pan-Asian cuisine in all its splendour, with breathtaking views of the Pampelonne Bay. Born in the rural town of Carrara, Chef Marco Garfagnini pays tribute to his Tuscan origins and imagines for the Château a new “pop-up” with Italian flavors.

Time spent by the pool is a must, with a thoughtful redesign and personalised service offered poolside throughout the day – from a charming ice-cream trolley to endless cold drinks to keep the Mediterrean heat at bay.

Those seeking a little tranquility will enjoy the new lap pool, nestled in the quiet gardens with picturesque views of the Pampelonne Bay. For our younger guests aged 4 to 17 years old, the Château transforms into the ultimate playground.

Tucked away at the bottom of the hill is a spacious new villa dedicated to keeping curious minds busy, with seven rooms and seven different worlds to explore. With a swimming pool, playgrounds and more to discover, there’s endless fun to be had in the 500m2 kingdom.

Both chic and luxurious, the generously sized 170 m2 duplex suite benefits from stunning views, overlooking the pool and the rolling French hills. Occupying the entirety of one of the Château’s towers, it is composed of three large bedrooms, a living room and a dining room, all of which are decorated in a modern French style.

Outside, guests will discover a small but sweet private pool and leafy garden area. With easy access to the main swimming pool and terrace restaurants, this is a very special villa. For complete comfort, each bedroom has its own bathroom, featuring a bath, a walk-in shower and a double sink, and a large walk-in closet will help keep any holiday wardrobe tidy.

SUITE PRESTIGE
Located on the top floor of one of the castle’s towers, it offers panoramic views of the sea, vineyards and countryside. Bright and spacious, this 110m² suite is decorated with light and natural tones.

The large windows open onto a shaded terrace This is one of the most prestigious suites in the Château, with a living room and a dining room. In its extension, an independent bedroom. The large marble bathroom has a bathtub, a walk-in shower and a double washbasin.

Generous in size, the 50 m² Junior Suite Terrace room can be found in the main hotel, with a large terrace that overlooks the stunning Pampelonne Bay.

L’AUBERGE DES MAURES
Since its creation in 1931, L’Auberge des Maures has remained a Saint-Tropez staple. Home of Provencal cuisine and former haunt for the golden age Riviera starlets like Bardot, Chaplin and Garbo, the restaurant is synonymous with convivial style dining and memorable Mediterranean flavours.

On the menu, resolutely Provençal dishes: tomato tatin, small vegetarian stuffed dishes, fillet of sea bass with virgin sauce, or shoulder of lamb with marjoram confit 72H. And let’s not forget the generous dessert buffet, new this season.

CARRARA BY MARCO GARFAGNINI
Born in the rural town of Carrara, famous for its exceptional marble once transported by cart, Chef Marco Garfagnini pays tribute to his Tuscan origins and imagines for Airelles a new menu with Italian flavors.

CARRARA embodies all the generosity of the Mediterranean. Imagine a green oasis on the heights of Saint-Tropez where it is good to sit at lunchtime, to have a drink in the early evening or to dine al fresco while admiring the sunset.

On the plate, the sunny Italian cuisine is expressed in the classic dishes dear to Chef Marco Garfagnini: roasted langoustines with Cremona mustard, lemon mint ricotta ravioli, fillet of sea bass with mussels and clams, not forgetting the classic Tiramisu.

POOL BAR CHATEAU
Le Château’s Pool Bar is the continuation of the Bar 1904, with a menu of snacks and traditional dishes. Salads, club sandwiches and pizzas are on offer. A wide selection of cocktails and drinks is also on the menu! The Pool Bar’s terrace is ideal for enjoying a drink and soaking up the sun as the water flows by.

LA TABLE DE LA MESSARDIERE
Inspired by the culture of generosity in the Airelles houses, La Table de La Messardière welcomes its guests for breakfast and lunch. Generous in both flavour and flair, guests can expect a tasty breakfast and a delicious lunch. Enjoy a breathtaking view of Pampelonne Bay from the terrace of La Table de la Messardière.

LA TABLE D’ESTOUBLON
La Table d’Estoublon, previously located between the Alpilles and Camarague, has now moved to the vegetable garden at Chateau de la Messardière for the 2022 Summer season. It celebrates the marriage between good and beautiful things, between flower beds and aromatic plants, between luxuriant arbors and ingredients fresh from the garden.

The restaurant offers a generous, local cuisine which makes the most of the incredible flavours of a huge variety of vegetables, aromatic herbs and fruit from the garden. The unique menu was designed by the Chef to enjoy with organic, biodynamic wine from Château d’Estoublon, characteristic of Baux-de-Provence, nestled at the foot of the Alpilles.

Rosé wine lovers will, without doubt want to opt for a glass of Roseblood, the flagship wine of the property. The restaurant offers generous dishes designed to linger over, with a new menu created each day for the evening’s guests.

COOKOOVAYA
This season, Pan Deï Palais is channelling the azure blues of one of the most beautiful Mediterranean countries to offer an unforgettable experience in Saint-Tropez. The restaurant is inspired by Greece, its stunning scenery, authentic flavours and sun-drenched cuisine.

In Cookoovaya, Pan Deï Palais is celebrating the fabulousness of Greek dishes. Since its launch in 2014, the Athenian concept has been a great success attracting travellers from all over the world, and raising the bar of high-end gastronomy with its fresh, playful, warm and refined flavours.

Iconic and original, Cookoovaya is coming to Côte d’Azur’s most famous fishing village, becoming the very first Athenian restaurant to establish itself outside the Greek borders. At the heart of this colourful place there’s a pure and simple atmosphere where the chef Periklis Koskinas creates his vision of balanced, thoughtful and authentic cuisine.

ZETTA
A short stroll from Pan Deï Palais and you’ll find Zetta. A novel concept for this Mediterranean peninsula, serving pizzettas (small pizzas) designed to be shared, accompanied by fresh salads and gourmet ice creams. With an atmosphere straight out of an Italian film from the 1960s, it embodies the “Dolce Vita” concept.

JARDIN TROPEZINA

With a team of trained staff who are skilled in the art of creative supervised play for little ones, and overseeing fun workshops for your teens, there’s something to do for everyone. Activities vary daily for maximum excitement – from arts and crafts to Lego workshops, private cinema screenings to sporty challenges.

Teens can make the most of the video games room and arcade room, treehouse and tennis courts, while the youngest have their playground. They’ll also love the kid-only swimming pool, with plenty of floats and games to keep them entertained for the afternoon.

To keep adventures fuelled, there’s a delicious lunch and dinner menu on hand, created especially for younger taste buds. Afternoon Tea is also on the menu, with lots of delicious snacks and drinks available throughout the day. It’s truly palace life shrunk to child size!
