They come fully equipped and lovingly furnished – everything has been designed for your well-being and comfort. Our double rooms, family rooms, duplex rooms and suites all offer peerless views of the village or the mountains.

Le Chalet Mounier puts you at the heart of a vast outdoor playground: the Les 2 Alpes domain. In winter, discover a snowy El Dorado for long days of skiing, snowshoe trekking and luge. In summer, continue skiing on the glacier, and explore luscious, verdant pastures on a mountain bike or a trek along one of the many marked footpaths.

A family story
The story of Le Chalet Mounier is also the story of a family. The adventure started in 1879, a time before luxury hotels and ski lifts in Les Deux Alpes. Pierre Balme set up an inn with two rooms and a dining room, which was then taken over by his son Daniel, and later by his granddaughter, Marie.

In 1933, Marie opened the first hotel in the resort with her husband, Hippolyte Mounier. In 1971, Robert Mounier took over, with his wife Georgia. They transformed the hotel into an exceptional attraction with swimming pools, a spa and gourmet restaurant that, a few years after opening, won a Michelin star.

Today, Alban, the son of Robert and Georgia and his partner Angélique, have continued this tradition of hospitality and excellence at this friendly, family hotel!

The 43 rooms at our 4-star chalet hotel offer cosy surroundings, lovingly decorated with quality furniture and silky fabrics. They all enjoy stunning views of the mountains or the village of Les 2 Alpes, and some of them feature a balcony.

They provide visitors with top of the range equipment and facilities, for a perfect sense of well-being: flat screen satellite TV, direct phone line, free Wi-Fi, safe…

In the private bathrooms, you will find bathrobes, slippers, bath linen and hair dryers. To meet your needs, our rooms can accommodate from 1 to 6 guests, with an additional cot on request. Some rooms come as duplex apartments.

In the enchanting settings of Le Chalet Mounier, the hotel offers a variety of atmospheres in which to enjoy meals. For an extraordinary gourmet adventure, settle in to the refined surroundings of Le P’tit Polyte. Le P’tit Polyte is the highest altitude Michelin-starred restaurant in the Isère region.

At dinnertime, the restaurant serves a cuisine full of creativity and wonder, where the talents of chefs Emilie Paris and Tanguy Rattier find full expression. In the next room, the hotel restaurant welcomes you, every night, for a surprise menu made from fresh, seasonal produce.

In summer, sit out on the beautiful terrace at the Restaurant du Jardin for a poolside lunch overlooking the Écrins Massif, with a special summer menu.

The name of the gourmet restaurant at Le Chalet Mounier, “Le P’tit Polyte’’, pays homage to the grandfather of Alban Mounier (the current owner), and is also a nod to the childhood nickname of his father Robert.

It corresponds perfectly to the warm welcoming atmosphere of the intimate dining room, furnished in a typical mountain style with light wooden furniture, red velvets, elegant objects and full of special memories.

As for the food, Le P’tit Polyte rises to the heights of the Les 2 Alpes peaks, and invites you to set out on a gourmet adventure unlike any other. Our chef serves an inventive, ambitious cuisine made from fresh produce, some local, some from further afield, achieving a perfect blend of flavours.

In the enchanting surroundings of Le Chalet Mounier, at the heart of Les 2 Alpes, in a beautiful dining room right by Le P’tit Polyte gourmet restaurant, the hotel restaurant invites you to sample its culinary delights.

First, take in the welcoming atmosphere of the dining room, with its contemporary, refined decor, which immediately sets diners at ease. Experience the pleasure of not having to choose: here, there are no menus (apart from the wine menu, of course).

Every evening, the chef and his team cook up an original menu that gives pride of place to fresh, seasonal produce. On the menu: a starter, a main course and a dessert, but you won’t know anything else until you get here… except that you will be pleasantly surprised.

Inspired by the cuisine of the Michelin-starred Le P’tit Polyte, the dishes are a mix of authentic flavours and originality, much to the delight of your taste buds.

Only open in summer, the Restaurant du Jardin invites you to take your lunch among exceptional surroundings. The tables are set on the terrace, by the heated pool, presenting guests with an astonishing spectacle: the alpine pastures and the peaks of the Les 2 Alpes resort at the heart of Les Écrins National Park.

But this is not merely a treat for the eyes – the restaurant serves a colourful summer cuisine that will delight your taste buds too.

On the menu, discover a selection of summer dishes: fresh melon with “Pata Negra” dried ham; mushroom risotto, summer truffles, parmesan; line caught shade fish, artichoke, aubergine caviar; roast lamb, pureed vitelotte potatoes, and French-style green peas.

And to finish your meal on a satisfying, refreshing note: a cheese board selected by a “maitre ouvrier de France” (master French craftsman), and / or desserts such as caramel millefeuille, or lemon sorbet.

To find the perfect accompaniment for your meal, the Chalet Mounier restaurants offer an extraordinary wine menu with a selection of over 500 wines. We stock over 5,000 bottles – a wine cellar worthy of our hotel.

Feel like taking a break for a coffee, an aperitif or an after-dinner liqueur ? Then head to our comfy, friendly hotel bar.

A paradise for skiers in winter, the Les 2 Alpes domain turns into a superb bike park in summer, much to the delight of amateur mountain bikers. The domain also offers the rare opportunity to enjoy summer skiing with its high altitude glacier, its 11 summer slopes and its snow park.

At the foot of the slopes, our hotel puts you within easy reach of this superb outdoor playground. In winter, choose between a hundred slopes, suitable for all levels of experience, or take a trip to La Grave-La Meije 30 minutes away from here, an internationally renowned resort for wild skiing.

In summer, Les 2 Alpes offers 13 mountain biking tracks over four sectors: Vallée Blanche, Jandri, Le Diable and Vénosc. Experienced mountain bikers can try out the iconic Fury, a competition level track, while children or beginners can get their first taste of mountain biking at specially designed sites.

The domain plays host to plenty of other activities: horse riding, golf, climbing, hang-gliding… You can also make the most of the many footpaths which criss-cross the domain to take in stunning landscapes and discover enchanting sites.

Families might want to make their way down the footpath that leads to La Molière communal farm, or head to Les Perrons. More adventurous trekkers should head off on the Vénosc trail or the La Porte Romaine des Bons path which will take you through the two villages around the resort.

Setting off from this peak, you can ski to an altitude of 1,300 m without ever getting on a ski lift. The ski domain is spread over 400 hectares and counts 96 slopes, including 5 free slopes.
