In the heart of the Dalt Vila quarter in Ibiza, the 5-star Hotel Mirador de Dalt Vila is surrounded by the old city’s historical walls. This 19th century town house uniquely combines splendour, unique surroundings, attention to detail and exclusivity.

The town house, built in 1904, is located in the heart of the delightful walled quarter of Dalt Vila. For many generations, and until recently, it was the home of the Fajarnés family.

None of its charm and history has been lost in its transformation into a luxury hotel. Evidence of this can be found in the number of original artworks around the hotel, the period furnishings, its perfect integration within the historic walls and a sympathetic decoration bringing out its links with the history of the area.

Although history and tradition have been painstakingly kept, the hotel’s rooms also have all modern comforts and the latest technology, in a subtle balance between past and present.

Absolute exclusivity defines Hotel Mirador de Dalt Vila’s philosophy, which is founded on meeting our guests’ high expectations for an unforgettable stay.

The hotel combines a welcoming and personalised service that only a luxury hotel can offer with a setting that exudes elegance and tastefulness, together with the latest technology for the ultimate in comfort.

A subtle balance between tradition and innovation is manifest throughout the building, as special attention has been paid to both detail and the perfect integration of the town house’s history with the hotel.

Hotel Mirador de Dalt vila aims to satisfy all our guests’ high expectations and comfort needs. We put every effort in offering a welcoming, personalised service that pays attention to every detail in order to meet their exacting needs.

The hotel’s exclusive 12 rooms comprise of 1 Grand Suite, 1 Suite, 4 Junior Suites, 4 Double Superior rooms, 1 Double room and 1 Single room.

They have all been decorated with the utmost detail and attention, including seven types of marble, green onyx and semi-precious stones, in keeping with the style of the building, which dates to 1904. The rooms also have the latest technology for the ultimate in comfort.

The Grand Suite’s exclusive period furnishings are particularly special, as they were personally selected by the Fajarnés family, the owners of the town house.

Another of the hotel’s highlights is its location and surroundings, in the heart of Dalt Vila, Ibiza’s old town. The area is famed for its spectacular views and rich history, and the 16th century walls that surround it are a magnificent testimony of Renaissance architecture.

Dalt Vila
Hotel Mirador can be found in the centre of Ibiza’s old town, Dalt Vila. This is an area well known for its outstanding views and rich history, surrounded by 16th century walls – a superb example of Renaissance architecture.

The history and splendour of the walled area was recognised in 1999, when UNESCO awarded the quarter World Heritage status together with other historical sites in Ibiza and Formentera, such as the Puig de Molins necropolis, the Phoenician settlement of Sa Caleta and the posidonia seagrass meadows in ses Salines.

Local attractions that should not be missed include the fortification bastions, the former Dominican convent – currently Ibiza’s town hall –, the Bishop’s palace and Ibiza’s Contemporary Art Museum.

Hotel Mirador de Dalt Vila offers a private yacht service and organises excursions to the nearby island of Formentera, which is only 4 km away, highlighting the exceptional location of the hotel.

IBIZA’S CONTEMPORARY ART MUSEUM
The museum was the first one of its kind in Spain when it opened its doors in 1969. Its origins can be traced back to Ibiza’s biennial exhibition, which took place for the first time in 1964, when the organisers decided that the awarded works of art would be exhibited in a museum.

The museum underwent extension work between 2007 and 2012, and it now boasts 2000 square meters spread across one ground and two underground floors.
It contains engraving works from the Ibizagrafic biennial art competition, which has been taking place since 1972.

As well as its main buildings, Sala de Armas and Almacenes a Prova, the museum has other delightful exhibition areas within the walled area of Dalt Vila: Polvorí del Baluard de Santa Llúcia and Iglesia del Hospitalet.

IBIZA, MEDIEVAL CITY
Dalt Vila’s awarding of World Heritage status is celebrated every May by hosting a Medieval Fair, a three-day cultural and recreational event that attracts more than 100 000 visitors each year.

The streets of Dalt Villa become a huge open-air theatre, filled with jongleurs, artists, birds of prey displays, artisans, silversmiths, spice merchants, dancers and chocolate makers. The old city’s air is filled with a fascinating mix of scents, colours and flavours from all continents in a vibrant spectacle not to be missed.

FORTIFICATION BASTIONS IN DALT VILA
The fortification bastions in Dalt Vila offer magnificent views over the city, especially from the cathedral square, built in dedication to the patron saint of Ibiza, Nuestra Señora de las Nieves (Our Lady of the Snow).

From there, you will be able to see the red tiles on the 17th century church of Santo Domingo and, to the left, the main square of the city, Vara de Rey. The square has a statue in the honour of an Ibiza general, Joaquín Vara de Rey, who fought the war in Cuba in the 19th century and from whom it takes its name.
