Hello, welcome to Hotel Honucai, your home on the seafront. The place where your story in Mallorca begins, away from the hectic pace of life to reconnect with you and nature, in an authentic way.

Hotel Honucai  is the new boutique hotel of Gallery Hotels, located in Colònia de Sant Jordi, an old fishing port in the southeast of the island of Majorca, from which you will enjoy spectacular views of the beaches of Es Dolcy Is Car

SUITE
Spacious room with two rooms: a bedroom, a living room and, in addition, a magnificent terrace with sea views and a pleasant sofa to listen to the waves of the sea.

SUPERIOR ROOM SEA VIEW
Elegant and bright, with a desk and a magnificent terrace overlooking the sea. The large terrace has a table, where you can have something from the room service menu while listening to the sea waves.

SUPERIOR ROOM WITH POOL
A wonderful interior room with a desk and a private terrace with hammocks and a swimming pool for two, the most intimate place to cool off when you come back from the beach, even better with a glass of cava.

THE SALICORNIA RESTAURANT
The Salicornia restaurant is in front of the port. Every morning the best fish and seafood in the area arrives. It is cooked simply, in an honest and exquisite way that savours the nature and spirit of Majorca

The gastronomy of Salicornia invites you to immerse yourself in the authentic fishermen’s-style cuisine of the 21st century: avant-garde and with the spirit of tradition, where island produce is the star. Based on chargrilled fish and seafood following updated local recipes. With local produce that enhance the true taste of the island.

Located on the sea front, Salicornia is inspired by its surroundings and expresses itself with its Mediterranean nature, cheerful and bright, shown in its décor.

We select the best fish and seafood from the very same south of the island, such as lobster or rock octopus, the absolute focus of any of our star dishes. A cuisine of renewed tradition, arising from the selection of the best produce. Healthy cuisine, cooked slowly and over embers.

Hotel Honucai events are much better thanks to the high level of the gastronomic offer provided by Chef Pablo Tomás through the Salicornia restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel. No doubt, an option that will enhance your events.

ROOFTOP BAR
The rooftop of the Hotel Honucai is divided into two areas: The Top among palm trees, where you can dine Japanese grill or the cold cosmopolitan suggestions of the Raw Bar, and the cocktail area with incredible views overlooking the sea.

The Top breaks the mould with a double gastronomic proposal: its Majorcan-style robata (Japanese grill) and the raw cuisine with fresh dressings of the Raw Bar, two high level options for dinner. The Top has the best views of the south of Majorca from up high, a privileged space to enjoy an explosive signature cocktail bar that makes the nights shine.

Every Saturday night, The Top programmes live music. We have good DJs and the best ambience. The top of The Top: a private space for twenty people, at the top. With reservations and bottle service, for intensely experiencing the summer nights with your friends.

MALLORCA
Discovering the coves of crystal clear water in the south of Mallorca from the land or from the sea is simply unique.

FLAVORS OF THE ISLAND
It is said that a lot can be known about a place through its cuisine. So in this article, we encourage you to delve into the flavours of the island to discover its traditions.

We recommend starting with the Salicornia restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel. Just a few metres from the beach, both hotel guests and other diners can eat with sea views. A gastronomic space with a lot of personality that feeds daily on the best fish and seafood from the south of the island.

Chef Pablo Tomás (ex Drolma and ElBulli) is in charge of highlighting the importance of fish and seafood cuisine, enhancing the flavours of the island and bringing creativity to the revised local recipes: dry rice, fideuá a la llauna with calamari and saffron aioli, chargrilled fish of the day are some of the dishes you can find.

We also highly recommend trying Majorcan sobrasada [cured pork], a very special local product that is mostly made by the Can Company family. Located in the interior of the island, they have tens of local black pigs that live freely among fields and fruit trees.

This sobrasada can be found in some of the dishes of the Salicornia restaurant in, for example, the form of an emulsion for rock mussels, or in the buffet breakfast in the dedicated local food section.

Traditional pastries such as ensaïmada and apricot coca are typical sweet food from the area and are a part of every Majorcan’s diet, as are artisanal cheese and cold meats such as botifarró or camaiot. Most of them can be found in the Hotel breakfast.

But if you are considering taking an ensaïmada home with you, we recommend buying it at the Can Pons bakery, in Colònia de Sant Jordi itself just a few metres from the hotel which is, in fact, the same one you will find at breakfast.

As a gastronomic ingredient of the area, fleur de sel is a highlight. We recommend visiting the Les Salines d’Es Trenc salt flats, walking among impressive and extremely white mountains of salt and discovering everything from how this precious product is naturally harvested to it becoming salt crystals, which are called fleur de sel [salt flowers].

MALLORCA FROM THE SEA
Discovering the crystal-clear coves in the south of Mallorca, from land or from the sea, is always a surprising pleasure. If you are one of those people who enjoys discovering little known beaches, we suggest going to Es Port beach, just 50 steps from the hotel, where a path begins that runs along the different coves to Cap de Ses Salines.

Without a doubt you will enjoy this incredible walk among pine trees and rocks while passing the Es Dolç, Es Dofí, Es Carbó, En Tugores and Es Cargol beaches until you reach Cap de Ses Salines.

Another way to discover the south-east of the island is from another perspective, from the sea. We recommend renting a boat in the port of Colònia de Sant Jordi and getting carried away by the tide, either first thing in the morning or with the sunset.

Once you reach the (almost) inaccessible Cala Marmols nesting among the cliffs, snorkel in the crystal-clear water of Es Carbó cove, relax at Cap Salines with its turquoise-blue water to enjoy a particularly privileged view of the lighthouse, and the last stop can be no other than Cala s’Almunia where the rocks enter the sea creating an easy jumping point.

VILLAGES & CORNERS
The authentic Mallorca is in the south of the island, with its laid-back Mediterranean lifestyle, its nature and its local traditions.

THE LIGHTHOUSE OF SA PUNTASSA
It is said that one of the best sunsets in Majorca is seen from the sa Puntassa lighthouse, which closes the Bay of Migjorn and announces that we are about to enter the port of Colònia. And we completely agree; leaving the hotel, walking along the beach path while the sun sets and ending up at the lighthouse with views of La Cabrera island, is simply spectacular for a summer evening.

CALA FIGUERA
Hidden among cliffs, pine and fig trees is the fishing port of Cala Figuera. Its whitewashed houses with their green shutters, the fishermen repairing their nets before going back out to sea, and the traditional llaüts [Mediterranean sailboats] moored along the port create a true picture-postcard view of the Majorca.

SANTANYI
On Wednesday and Saturday mornings, the picturesque village of Santanyí becomes a local market, full of little stalls where you can buy fruit and vegetables directly from the pagès [Catalan farmer] as well as the typical senalles (baskets), all kinds of garments made with Majorcan “cloth of tongues”, ceramics and local crafts. No doubt, a place you cannot miss, just 20 mins from Hotel Honucai by car.

Discover the light of the fishing villages in the south of Majorca. A destination for those who wish for more than just travel; experience the unhurried rhythm of the Mediterranean and the taste of its tradition.
