In a strategic location in regards to the train station and the historic centre of Florence, Garibaldi Blu is a new recently-built 4-star designer hotel. Housed within an ancient palace in Piazza Santa Maria Novella, its décor is original and modern, in an artistic frame with authentic frescoes from the 1800s.

The lobby is a luminous space thanks to the high-vaulted ceilings with a large skylight in the centre, a lounge area and central palm collection. In the grand lobby there is also a bar area with original counter from the 1950s.

The hotel counts twenty rooms in total, characterised by modern art styles from the 1950s and ’60s, with designer lamps, vintage-inspired furniture and wooden flooring.

The three-level building includes 20 modern and equipped rooms characterised by their design, style, art and technology. The walls are painted in soft, soothing colours.

Embellishing the environments are the refinement of the materials, high-quality Afromosia wood parquet, hand-crafted bespoke Tanganyika-inspired vintage wooden furniture and contemporary art pieces.

The spacious wardrobes, which personalise each room, are unique custom-made items taken from the original 1970s designs. All the bathrooms, tiled in precious marble, include an exclusive courtesy kit and vanity set.

Certain Deluxe rooms and Junior Suites have a privileged view over the Santa Maria Novella Basilica and Piazza that is just spectacular. To delve into history, choose an accommodation with a splendid coffered ceiling or one featuring original frescoed walls from the 1800s that will take you back to another era.

JUNIOR SUITE
Within the splendid original panelled ceilings and walls with authentic nineteenth-century frescoes reigns the spectacular uniqueness of our suites. Certain rooms present romantic vistas overlooking the square of Santa Maria Novella and the homonymous church.

The walls painted in pink and grey with a hand-trowelled finish providing a textural effect together with the lovely framboise wood parquet create a relaxing and luminous atmosphere that exalts the original design pieces and the characteristic custom-built wardrobes.

Dedicated to the most discerning of guests, a pleasant sitting area and study area with desk complete the comforts of the room layouts. On an equal level are the bathrooms, equipped with tub or shower in high-quality materials such as Marmittone, Calacatta and Carrara marble.

DELUXE WITH VIEW
Florence will come to you, offering up all the splendour of the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella from the windows of our Deluxe rooms with a view. Within is a comfortable and relaxing environment, characterised by the soft colours of the walls and the warmth emanating from the fine Tanganyika wood furnishings and framboise parquet.

The spacious wardrobes that personalise all the rooms are custom-made and unique. In the sleeping area containing one queen-sized or two single beds with faux leather headboard there is also a study area with desk and comfortable seating. The bathroom with Marmittone floors and precious Calacatta marble walls feature either a tub or shower.

TRAVELLING AS A FAMILY
The hotel’s common areas display life-sized Marvel superheroes. Children under 3 years old may stay in their parents’ room free of charge. Upon request we have cots, toiletry products for babies, bottle warmers and high chairs available at no extra cost.

For all of our younger guests, a welcome surprise is in store for you. A babysitting service (at a fee) may also be pre-arranged upon request.  Even the gardens of Florence have something extra. The most famous is the Boboli. Although splendid, it is forbidden to go running or picnic therein.

In the Giardino dei Semplici there is also a botanical garden with a mass of carnivorous plants; in the Stibbert Museum Garden there is even a small Egyptian temple facing a pond. Not yet satisfied? Then you must visit the “Bosco Cantastorie” storytellers at the Villa Strozzi Park.

EAT & DRINK
At the hotel’s groundfloor there is “il Garibaldino” Bar where guests can stop for a coffee or a drink from 3 pm. The modern art style from the 1950s and ’60s which characterizes the hotel is shown in the design of the piano bar, a true “Old Fashioned” American Bar.

“Il Garibaldino” offers a refined menu with a wide choice of hot and cold drinks and a rich cocktails list. Our bartender with a long-term experience will satisfy every your request realizing either international cocktails or his unique interpretations always linked to a classic style.

At the same floor there is also the particular breakfast room characterized by an external court available in spring and summer periods. Open from 7 am till 10.30 am, it offers a continental and American buffet breakfast with a corner rich of quality products. Gluten free products are available on request for guests with food intolerances.

MEETING & EVENTS
Garibaldi Blu offers options that are ideal also for business travellers. The structure is equipped with two spacious conference rooms – one meeting room furnished with an elegant single 14-seater table in precious wood and a second with high vaulted ceilings that can hold up to 35 people in a theatre style.

The spectacular hall is perfectly suited as a location for events of great charm, stylish presentations and cocktail parties. A video projector, overhead projector and microphones are available upon request.
