Most of our guests are at Ivory Tree for the thrill of the open vehicle safari. Ivory Tree uses custom built 10 seater open game viewers which permit maximum all around visibility. The park is home to a wide variety of general game including the Big 5, in addition both species of rhino occur, namely black and white, and cheetah and wild dog.
Each group of guests is assigned a personal guide who is tasked with interpreting the sights and sounds of the African bush. Your guide is always around to ensure that you remain comfortable during your stay with us.
ACCOMMODATION

From every aspect of your suite to your food, drinks and your game drives, here at Ivory Tree quality, service and guest’s expectations are important to us. In total we have 67 rooms ranging from standard suites all the way through to a private villa ensuring that we cater for all our guests needs.
KOSHER VILLA
The New C5 Villa at Ivory Tree offers a Kosher Kitchen, private dining and lounge area with a private pool and a private vehicle and guide for the duration of your stay. The Kosher chef and supervisor will serve 3 meals a day. The new kitchen is exclusively for Kosher use; is segregated for meat and milk and will remain locked when not in use.
EXECUTIVE SUITE
Kitted-out with all the luxury you need along-side all the usual amenities. The Executive Suite features a king-size bed, covered with luxurious linens, and you can bask in the sun and your African surroundings from your private patio, or relax in your private plunge pool.
LUXURY SUITE
Each of the four Luxury Suites features a range of amenities for your comfort and enjoyment, as well as a relaxing outdoor sitting area, a lounge with a flat-screen TV, and a fireplace for chilly bushveld evenings.
Three out of the four Luxury Suites even offer a private plunge pool. These Suites are all tastefully decorated with African décor and come with a king-size, four-poster bed and an en-suite bathroom.
FAMILY SUITE
The Family Suite has two bedrooms with a family lounge separating them with doors opening up onto a outdoor area with a plung pool to cool off during those hot summer days. The main suite has a king size bed and the second bedroom has twin beds. The suite comes with an outdoor shower and an indoor bath.
STANDARD SUITE
Each beautifully decorated with African-inspired décor – the Standard rooms also feature an outdoor sitting area, and a further range of amenities for your pleasure. Two guests can be comfortably accommodated with either a two-single-bed or one-king-size-bed configuration, and each room has an en-suite bathroom, with the adventurous offer of an outdoor shower.

PILANESBERG NATIONAL PARK
The crater of a long extinct volcano is the setting of Ivory Tree Game Lodge in Pilanesberg Game Reserve – a fascinating alkaline complex produced by volcanic eruptions some 1300 million years ago. Pilanesberg Game Reserve is one of the largest volcanic complexes of its kind in the world. Its rare rock types and structure make it a unique geological feature.
The area is fringed by three concentric ridges or rings of hills – the formation rises from the surrounding plains like a bubble. The structure of the park is termed the “Pilanesberg Game Reserve Alkaline Ring Complex”. Ancient, even by geological time scales, this extinct volcano is the most perfect example of an alkaline ring complex.
Unlike any other large park, unique overlaps of mammals, birds and vegetation occur because of this transition zone. Springbok, brown hyena, the red eyed bulbul, and camel thorn trees usually found in arid areas are found cohabitation with moist-area-limited impala, black eyed bulbul and Cape chestnut trees.
BIG 5 SAFARI EXPERIENCE
Pilanesberg National Park is a sought-after wildlife destination in a malaria-free zone. The park is home to the big five and only 2 hours from Johannesburg. The unique biosphere of the Pilanesberg National Park is home to one of the country’s most famous wildlife areas.
