Gabbiano Azzurro Hotel & Suites is a family-run hotel, owned by the Datome Family for more than 50 years.

Opened for the very first time in April 1968, it has celebrated 50 years in 2018, with a brand new logo that recalls the shape of a light blue seagull, and a slight change of name, from the historical Hotel Gabbiano Azzurro to Gabbiano Azzurro Hotel & Suites, to underline the growth of offer and quality.

Gabbiano Azzurro opens usually in May and closes by the end of October. Sergio Datome, with the precious help and support of his wife Antonella and his brother, Marco Datome, is the General Manager for more than 45 years.

In recent time, also the eldest son Tullio has joined their efforts to bring in new energy and inspiration and face the future challenges they are undertaking.

Gabbiano Azzurro means “light blue seagull”, and the wings of our Gabbiano are actually the staff members, long time trusted employees, whom kindness and professionality are much appreciated among our Repeaters and Guests.

At Gabbiano Azzurro Hotel & Suites each room is conceived to offer a welcoming atmosphere with all the comforts of home. All rooms that are bookable with our website have a private balcony overlooking the sea or the village of Golfo Aranci.

And of course you’ll find many other amenities: flat screen TV with satellite channels, air conditioning, free wifi internet, a courtesy bath line, hairdryer and minibar.

LUXURY POOL SUITE 
Connected to the main building of the Hotel by a comfortable lift, our Luxury Pool Suite is located at the last & top floor of a separated building, exclusively dedicated to the Guests of the Gabbiano Azzurro Suite rooms.

The Luxury Pool Suite boasts a wide terrace of 65 sqm on its rooftop, accessible by outdoor stairs, where a private 23 sqm pool with whirlpool system and sunbeds can be enjoyed.

This modern 2-bedroom Suite provides a common living room with a sofa bed and balcony of 20 sqm, where the Guest will find a table and chairs to seat outside and enjoy the stunning view over the sea and coastline.

The main bedroom with its own bathroom is appointed with a flat TV, a french window and a balcony to enjoy the sea view. The second bedroom is accessible either independently or by the common living room, and has its own flat TV and amenities, plus its own bathroom with walk-in crystal shower cabin.

Hosting up to 6 adults or 4 adults and 2 children, this room is ideal for a family with 1 or 2 children. Linen is changed daily. The Suite is cleaned every morning and turned down in the evening.

BEACH RISTO & BAR 
Enjoy lunch overlooking the pristine sea and lagoon of La Terza Spiaggia Beach. The Beach Risto & Bar of Gabbiano Azzurro is open during the day to attend to the Guests who wish to linger on at the private beach.

The Restaurant Service is available for lunch with an a la carte menu to enjoy a rich selection of Italian style courses with the freshest ingredients, expressly prepared by our Kitchen.

You can sit here in the frame of our two shielded terraces overlooking the light blue colours of the sea. Reservation with our Receptionists is recommended. At the Beach Risto & Bar, the Bar Service remains available during the day to enjoy soft drinks, coffee, ice cream and many other light snacks, fresh juices and cocktails.

The private beach, property of Gabbiano Azzurro Hotel & Suites, rests on the beautiful Terza Spiaggia of Golfo Aranci, and is for exclusive use by the Guests of the Hotel.

It is fully equipped with sun loungers and sun parasols, a RistoBar at the beach, and it offers a wide lagoon where the sea is shallow and crystal clear and it will allow you to enjoy long strolls and refreshing swims.

The beautiful stretch of Sardinian coast that leads from Olbia to Golfo Aranci has many more stunning beaches to offer, and the famous landscape beauty of Costa Smeralda is only 20 minutes away by car.

Pittolongu and Bados, beloved by the citizens of Olbia, are equipped with umbrellas, deck chairs, restaurants and bars. Even Cala Sassari and Spiaggia Bianca (White Beach), with fine and whitewashed sand, are very popular and appreciated by windsurfing and snorkelling enthusiasts.

Baia Caddinas Beach is in front of the Five Beaches of Golfo Aranci, and the Third, which includes the beach of Gabbiano Azzurro Hotel & Suites, is the largest one.

DOLPHIN WATCHING

A community of bottlenose dolphins has happily settled in the waters of Golfo Aranci. The reason is the fish farming plant near Figarolo Island, 2,5 km from our Gabbiano Azzurro Hotel & Suites, where numerous dolphin families feed around the farming plant.

It will be very easy to spot these elegant and delightful animals, and watch them jump out of the water and play around the farming plant and the island.

If you are attracted by the sea charm, you can rely on the experience of the fully equipped Diving Centers partners of Gabbiano Azzurro Hotel & Suites, welcoming all those who wish to do scuba diving boat excursions.

Qualified PADI and ESA Instructors offer the opportunity to achieve all possible scuba diving certifications, for beginners as well as experienced divers.

Dives are possible around the marine protected area of Tavolara and Molara Islands, as well as the natural reserve of Figarolo and Capofigari and the Island of Mortorio, where you will find many species of underater marine flora and fauna.

These diving centers offer also boat excursions, where you will visit the close-by islands of Tavolara and Molara, with the possibility to go snorkeling around the granitic scenery offered by these islands, with the most stunning colors and shades of blue.

MUMART: THE UNDERWATER MUSEUM
MuMart, an acronym that stands for “Maritime Art Museum”, is an underwater, submerged museum, with statues representing subjects related to the sea world, positioned on the sea-bottom of Golfo Aranci, the only one of its kind in Europe.

Secured to the bottom of the sea, from 4 to 7 meters depth, you will find 14 statues by contemporary, internationally renowned artists such as Angi, Boero, Bricalli, Cardillo, Carloni, Chapalain, Ciccobelli, Cogorno, Kosice, Mustica, Nussbuam, Patterson, Polesello, Sturla.

The magic, mesmerizing scenery surrounding these art pieces is only the blue water of the sea, with its changing, growing underwater marine fauna and flora. There are two ways to visit the underwater museum: scuba diving or snorkelling accompanied by the diving centres of Golfo Aranci.

The MuMart underwater museum is located on the outer portion of the lagoon of Terza Spiaggia beach, toward the open water but close enough to be reached from the beach if you are a good swimmer. You can easily spot the buoys signing the Mumart Underwater Museum from the terrace of Gabbiano Azzurro Hotel & Suites.
