Casa Balata is a farm house close to Agrigento – Valley of the Temples -Scala dei Turchi bay, but it is also so much more. The old structure was completely renovated respecting the shapes, sizes and materials originally used. It is a facility offering our visitors a different experience, beyond time and space, a unique experience that aims at touching the soul.

An enchanted place, among olive trees, native plants and healing herbs, perfumes and colours, nature trails, earth, rocks and the sea, a place where the only sound is the wind blowing, where TVs are replaced by books, a place where still today, at night, it’s possible to admire an extraordinary starry sky, away from any form of light pollution, a place where you can appreciate the fusion between the beautiful and unspoiled Sicilian countryside with the Mediterranean sea.

Our philosophy, which is reflected in every detail of Casa Balata, is that of strictly respecting nature and the environment, and this can be been in the choices that we’ve made. For this reason all our agricultural produce – cold pressed extravirgin olive oil, citrus fruits, fruits, vegetables, aromatic and herbal plants, are all ORGANIC and the energy needed for the facility is produced by our photovoltaic panels.

Also our bio-pool was designed to perfectly integrate with the surrounding environment and built with special materials that totally harmonize it from a landscape point of view.

At Casa Balata the concept of client does not exist. At Casa Balata you are pampered guests, friends, family. We prefer the substance rather than the appearance, simplicity and human relations. Casa Balata is the ideal place for all those who want a break from the hustle and bustle of the city, spending some quality time with themselves.

Its great location is also convenient for reaching, in just a few minutes, fascinating places such as the Valle dei Templi, the Kolymbethra and other wonders of Agrigento, the majestic Scala dei Turchi, the pristine beaches of the Natural Reserve of Torre Salsa, the seafaring area of Sciacca and the many quaint little towns full of history, culture and culinary traditions. But we’re forewarning you: when you come to Casa Balata, you’ll risk forgetting everything else…

All around are 32 hectares of olive groves, an orchard, a kitchen garden, a Mediterranean garden and tropical plants. 253m Above the sea level ..the place is located between two villages, realmonte and siculiana part of agrigento’s county. Casa balata is an excellent starting point for anyone interested in visiting.

ROOMS
Casa Balata has 5 beautiful and confortable rooms with king size beds all ensuit. The bedrooms are all different from each-other but equally beautifully refurnished and decorated. The two common areas include two large open spaces some large and rich bookshelves available to guest and a fireplace. On the ground floor is located a large and elegant dining-room all refurnished in a beautiful retro sicilian style.

Casa balata has a rooftop terrace on the first floor and a telescope to admire the beauty of the sicilian sky which sometimes in summer nights gives the most spectacular show of all. The restaurant which is exclusive to guest offers typical sicilian dishes made with local organic products and fresh fish only.

BIKE & TOURS
The location of the “Casabalata” farmhouse is on top of a hill 200 meters above sea level that dominates the stretch of the Agrigento coast that goes from the town of Realmonte to Siculiana.

Thanks to the picturesque location of “Casabalata” it is possible to make excursions by mountain bike or road bike that satisfy every need: both that of the expert biker who prefers technical routes, and that of cyclists or road cyclists who want to pedal with peace of mind.

The proposed routes are ring-shaped: with departure and arrival from the farm. The routes allow excursions with visits to most of the local naturalistic beauties, from the famous Scala dei Turchi, a UNESCO heritage site, to the neighboring villages.

Both traditional and electric rental bikes and a van equipped for transporting bikes and passengers are also available for cyclists and bikers. Other tours are available and for which transfers are required.
