Friendly batfish, sergeants, wrasses and parrotfish await amidst the hard and soft corals of the House Reef, while Rocky Cove is known for its large schools of jackfish, trevallies and fusiliers. SCUBA DIVING
With crystal clear, warm waters and unspoilt coral reefs, the sea surrounding Pamalican Island is a paradise for scuba divers of all levels. Visibility ranges from 20 to 30 metres (60 to 100 feet) and water temperatures from 26°C (79°F) to 30°C (86°F), ensuring possibly the clearest, most comfortable dives ever experienced.
The region’s pristine coral reefs host an amazing array of marine life, and almost every dive features a turtle or two cruising through a myriad tropical fish.
TURTLES SITE
Watching turtle hatchlings emerge from their nests and make their way to the moonlit ocean is a magical experience bar none. Pamalican Island is a nesting site for green and hawksbill turtles, visited every year from March to October by laying females.
KITE & SURF
With an exquisite crystal clear lagoon offering moderate waves and strong consistent winds, Amanpulo is a kite surfer’s paradise. Kite surfers of all levels can launch right from the beach and hone their skills on the lagoon’s vast expanse of shallow turquoise water with a sandy bottom and moderate waves.
With clear blue, warm waters, and a bottom of predominantly white sand and occasional sea grass, our lagoon resembles a natural swimming pool, making it easy to walk around and learn how to kite. Strategically located to catch the windsport-ideal amihan (northeasterly wind) from December to March, the island also benefits from the venturi caused by larger neighbouring islands.
Guests will be linked to their instructor via radio headsets for speed, safety and ease of learning while on the water. Lessons can also include video footage for reviewing the session.
