Batty Langley’s is London’s latest boutique hotel with civilised surroundings, old fashioned hospitality, and friendly efficient service. Listed as one of London’s six best hotels. Located just a 7-minute walk from London Liverpool Street Station, Batty Langley’s features beautiful rooms with antique furniture, heavy silk curtains and quirky bathrooms.

Located in a cobbled street in London’s trendy Spitalfields, the iconic Gherkin building is 13 minutes’ stroll away and Old Spitalfields Market is a 3-minute walk away. Each unique bedroom has air conditioning and an Apple TV with media hub, and complimentary WiFi is available throughout the hotel.

CLUB ROOM
We don’t number our rooms. That’s because we don’t believe in numbering our guests. In your Club Double room you’ll find a 17th Century carved oak bed or a Georgian four poster. Windows are hung with heavy silk curtains or wooden shutters.

The bathroom has restored Vintage plumbing fixtures and fittings, with either a cast iron roll-top bath or a period style shower. All rooms are air-conditioned and have complimentary Wi-Fi, flat screen television, mini bar, safe and REN toiletries.

SUPERIOR ROOM
Where else can you stay in a bedroom like this without having to take out a long lease? The beds are either 17th Century carved oak or Georgian four posters. We take bathrooms seriously.

Ours have restored period fittings, many with cast iron roll-top baths, restored Vintage showers and high level cisterns. All rooms are air-conditioned and have complimentary Wi-Fi, flat screen television, mini bar, safe and REN toiletries.

EARL OF BOLINGBROKE
Not to be confused with the more famous Viscount Bolingbroke, the third Earl developed the land around here as high-end housing for Huguenot immigrants from France. He then built himself a grand mansion round the corner in Spital Square, demolished in 1890.

His suite at Batty Langley’s still awaits him. It’s on two levels, with a luggage lift to save you carrying your bags up to bed. There’s a huge, sunny terrace with views to the Olympic Park.

The marble bath is a genuine antique from Tuscany and the enormous canopy bed was built for a bishop (don’t ask us to tell you its rather naughty story). Up-to-date fittings include a concealed flat screen TV with Apple and media hub technology.

KITTY FISHER
Best remembered as the subject of a nursery rhyme, Kitty was a well known 18th century London courtesan who started as a humble milliner in this area. Ravishing looks and a sharp wit took her a long way.

Kitty’s boudoir, appropriately, has a lavish vintage four-poster and, in the bathroom, a genuine Victorian canopy bathing machine. There’s a balcony, and a separate sitting room with sofa bed. The flat screen TV with Apple and media hub technology is discreetly housed.

SERVICES
We have set out to create the kind of accommodation we ourselves would love to find in the heart of one of the world’s great cities. Batty Langley’s has an important part to play in the life of this exciting corner of old London.

Our quiet, characterful bedrooms are furnished with genuine antiques, and every one is different. Our bathrooms are so extraordinaty, guests often ask if they can take them home.

Your surroundings here are civilised: old fashioned hospitality, friendly, efficient staff, and a location second to none. Our meeting rooms (one of which has a secluded garden attached) are available for discreet gatherings, away from prying eyes and ears, and for photo shoots and filming.

MEETINGS
No, we don’t do full scale conferences and conventions at any of our properties – we’re not that kind of hotel. But if you’re seeking a private and discreet events facility for up to eight people in Central London, you need look no further.

Our meeting and events rooms are all full of character, very different, and furnished throughout with fine old paintings and prints and mellow antiques.

THE LIBRARY
This elegant room has a picturesque Victorian lantern roof flooding the entrance with natural daylight. The opposite end is laid out as an intimate, fully fitted and well stocked library featuring a period stone working fireplace, polished oak shelving and an ornate room divider.

The entire space is air conditioned, with complimentary Wi-Fi access, and is furnished with comfortable sofas and chairs as well as an antique table seating six to eight.

THE PARLOUR
This delightful, fully panelled sitting room is available for guests when it is not is use for small private gatherings.

Features include solid oak flooring, an open fireplace with working fire, concealed flat screen TV with media hub and Apple TV, complimentary WiFi access, built-in period china cupboard and sash windows with folding shutters that allow the room to be blacked out for photo shoots. It is air conditioned and enjoys abundant natural daylight.

THE TAPESTRY ROOM
This large, imposing space is hung with 17th century tapestries, The Folly and The Fountain, and features a large antique book case which doubles as an honesty bar. Glazed doors open onto an elegant private courtyard with a functioning period fountain.

At one end of the room is an open fireplace flanked by elegant built-in bookcases, furnished with comfortable sofas and chairs to form an ideal breakout space. An antique table with seating for up to six overlooks the courtyard. The room is air conditioned and is complete with complimentary WiFi access.
