Viola and Rocco are the heart and soul of Borgo Eibn – together with all the staff of the small, fine Hideaway Borgo Eibn. They are hosts in their own, individual way. Unconventional, attentive and emphatic, full of passion and love for what they do and for this very special place that gives them both: roots and wings.

Borgo Eibn Mountain Lodge is a small, family-run boutique hotel in a breathtaking location. It consists of three traditional buildings: The Lodges Stavolo di Sotto, Stavolo di Mezzo and Stavolo di Sopra surprise with 15 very different apartments: romantic nest, elegant suite, casual mountain apartment.

ORL CHALET
Surrounded by untouched nature, ORL lies on the west side of the Stavolo di Sotto Lodge. It overlooks the valley, the woods and the slopes behind. The wild beauty of nature forms the breathtaking setting of this light-flooded apartment at any time of the day.

The bedroom on the upper floor has a surprise in store: the large, free-standing bathtub for relaxing moments. ORL also has a sofa bed in the living room. 62 m² living space and 6 m² terrace.

LERCHE CHALET
The maisonette apartment is located on the east side of the Stavolo di Sotto Lodge and surprises with a magnificent panoramic view of the valley and lake of Sauris. Lots of light, wood and sun provide a warm, cosy atmosphere, and the large corner bathtub for two persons in the bedroom under the roof invites you to relax and unwind. LERCHE also has a sofa bed in the living area. 67 m² living space and 10 m² terrace.

ERGATHA CHALET
ERGATHA is located on the ground floor on the west side of the Stavolo di Mezzo Lodge. The panorama terrace is directly in front of the entrance door. Here you can sit relaxed on the wooden bench and look into the untouched nature or relax on the comfortable loungers of the spacious garden with alpine flair. ERGATHA also has a sofa bed in the living room. 50 m² living space and 14 m² outdoor area.

GRUEMAT CHALET
This spacious, cosy apartment is located on the ground floor of the Stavolo di Mezzo Lodge on the east side. It offers plenty of space for a family or a group of friends. The panoramic terrace with sun loungers and comfortable benches is right in front of the entrance door. GRUEMAT also has a sofa bed in the living room. 60 m² living space and 10 m² outdoor area.

THE RESTAURANT
The Borgo Eibn Restaurant is an intimate place, an elegant parlour with the flair of a private home, where traditional Friulian dishes are reinterpreted with a pinch of culinary imagination. In the middle of the room, the wood in the traditional Fogolâr cracks pleasantly and relaxes the senses.

The Slow Food philosophy as well as natural products of the highest quality from our own organic production are the essential ingredients in the restaurant Borgo Eibn: seasonal and local, creative and genuine, demanding and down-to-earth at the same time.

The dishes are accompanied by a careful selection of the best wines from the Friulian and Italian vineyards. What the Restaurant conjures up on your plate is an ode to the essence of the Carnic Alps, their aromas, their fruits and their wild, untouched beauty. When the weather is fine, Borgo Eibn’s guests can feast on the panoramic terrace in front of the magnificent mountain scenery.

THE SPA

It is our spa created with care and attention to detail to awaken your senses: traditional materials combined with elements of refined design offer an exclusive and pleasant ambience for your well-being.

THE FARM
Tradition, authenticity and a deep love for our homeland, Sauris and the Carnia region. The history of our farm and agricultural company Carniagricola has distant origins and for over a century has been a family history, made up of passion and attachment to our roots.

It is a story made of love and bond with our past, of ancient traditions and working methods that have been passed on from generation to generation. It is a story that bears witness to the responsibility and care that has always guided us in the production of cheeses, cold cuts and hams – tasty guardians of ancient values and genuine flavours.

We rely on the masters of the past and follow their teachings with great attention and we observe the utmost care for each stage of production. We use only salt and smoke for the preservation of the meat and strictly avoid the addition of chemical preservatives. Our cheese is made with the raw, not pasteurized milk of our dairy cows.

SAURIS BY NATURE
Real people and wild mountains. Sauris, or Zahre in the local dialect of Germanic origin, is a small village with 430 inhabitants in the region of the Carnic Alps in Friuli Venezia Giulia. An enchanting place where time follows its own rhythm.

The essence of Sauris is reflected in all aspects of this peaceful, well hidden corner of the earth: in its customs and traditions, language and architecture. But above all in the warm, welcoming character of the people who live here.
