Perched on the banks of the Chobe River beside the world-famous Chobe National Park, Chobe Safari Lodge is northern Botswana’s top heritage stay. Established in 1959, decades of guest experience make this the ideal expedition base for iconic game viewing by boat, tiger fishing adventures or visits to the nearby Victoria Falls.
With its modern design and social atmosphere, Chobe Bush Lodge lies beside Chobe Safari Lodge, sharing the same classic facilities and grounds with roaming impala, rare Chobe bushbuck and entertaining warthogs. Chobe Safari Lodge is situated in Kasane on the banks of the Chobe River and shares a border with Chobe National Park.
It is the oldest lodge in Chobe and was established in 1959. Right on our doorstep is the meeting of four African countries: Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Zambia. Chobe Safari Lodge therefore offers an excellent getaway location to Chobe, Victoria Falls or Caprivi.
Along with many species of big game, Chobe National Park boasts the largest concentration of elephant in Africa, and our game drives and boat cruises offer visitors the opportunity to witness this amazing spectacle. We also offer sunset boat cruises, private boat hire, Victoria Falls day trips, fishing, scenic flights, and Namibian Village walks.
SAFARI ROOMS
46 individually decorated safari rooms offer every comfort. Each room affords our guests the luxury of air-conditioning, luxurious en-suite bath and shower facilities, satellite TV and telephone.
The Safari rooms enjoy expansive lawns which form the banks of the Chobe river. Each room has its own patio that gives one the privacy of enjoying views of the river from the comfort of your own room, and are also in close proximity to the main complex.
RIVER ROOMS
The north east facing luxurious twin-bed river rooms are air-conditioned and offer the convenience of phone, TV and large en-suite bathrooms.
Our wing of river rooms are attached to the main complex via down stairs corridor or upstairs viewing deck with it’s own riverside garden where guests often photograph the resident monkeys and mongoose. All rooms include two double beds and their own private patios.
RONDAVELS
One of Chobe Safari Lodges original accommodation types, the traditional thatched rondavels are independently positioned, with air-conditioner and en-suite bathrooms. These detached units are positioned close to the river in the lodge gardens. The rondavels are positioned to the west of the main complex and are also a very short walk away from it.
CAMPING
The famous Chobe Safari Lodge campsite offers individual sites scattered amongst the riverine forest close to the Chobe River. Each site has its own power point and is close to one of the modern ablution facilities.The Sedudu Bar overlooks the river and floodplains, and is well known as “the” sundowner spot in the region.
THE RESTAURANT
Our concept restaurant features indigenous and rich flavors of Africa. Choice of English or Continental Breakfast is available. Light lunch is availble as a la carte or buffet. Scrumptious buffet dinners offer wide variety of meals from exotic game meats, roasts, barbecues, stir-fries or vegetarian dishes.
THE COCKTAIL BAR & SEDUDU BAR
Two bars are located on the property giving guests a choice between Sedudu Bar famous for the most beautiful sunsets or Cocktail Bar overlooking Caprivi flood plains.
DINNER CRUISES
Enjoy a succulent buffet dinner under the stars aboard a boat and turn your evening meal into an unforgetable occasion. Sip wine while listening to hippos and other sounds of African nature.
