The Fattoria di Pancole is an organic farm, situated few kilometers away from the beautiful medieval town of San Gimignano, in the province of Siena. It is a small village located at 350 meters above the sea level, in the DOCG Chianti Colli Senesi and DOCG Vernaccia di San Gimignano area, surrounded by its olive groves and specialized vineyards for an area of about 63 hectars.
It is a Family-run business and with the contribution and assistance of valid collaborators and making use of adequate technology, it produces wines and extra virgin olive oil of excellent quality, following the methods and standards of the organic farming. All in order to preserve the ecosystem in which we live and work.
The serch for quality and authenticity are the key points that have always distinguished us and that have allowed us, over the years, to establish ourselves for our seriousness and passion and is the challenge we face every year to offer our customers the best of our land.
LOCATION
Fattoria di Pancole is few kilometers away from the charming medieval village of San Gimignano located at 350 meters above the see level. Traces of the original medieval structure in the central area suggest that there had been people living there since the XVth Century.
During the 90s the family turned the old surrounding farmhouses into typical and comfortable apartments that are now part of their Agriturism. It is the ideal place to spend a pleasant vacation, to regenerate body and spirit savoring the lifestyle of these places.
The strategic position of Fattoria di Pancole allows you to reach in a short time important cities of art such as Siena, Florence, Pisa, Lucca , small but beautiful Tuscan villages such as Volterra, Certaldo Alto and also the Etruscan coast. Each apartment is equipped with independent heating and air conditioning and from the pool you can enjoy a wonderful panorama.
WINERY
The Fattoria di Pancole is located at 350 metrs above the sea level. , The production of the wines is based on the production of the vineyards around Fattoria di Pancole.
The soil of the vineyards have a strong marine clay component, which is in fact supported by yellow sand and the many marine fossils of the Pliocene era: the hills of San Gimignano were in ancient times submerged by the sea and it is this prehistoric and marine components that guarantees white and red wines with a strong and pleasant minerality.
The Company’s production is represented by the historical local “Vernaccia di San Gimignano” grape, followed by vineyards cultivated with Sangiovese, Merlot, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Riesling, Trebbiano, Malvasia and very small productions of Canaiolo, Colorino, Malvasia Nera and Alicante.
The production is focused on some of the most prestigious labels like DOCG, DOC and IGTand an excellent extra vergin olive oil is obtained from our more than 2000 secular plants. All our production is certified organic.
WINE TOUR
There is no better occasion to taste the estate’s products than in the suggestive Vernaccia of San Gimignano DOCG (Designation of Controlled and Guaranteed Origin) winegrowing area. Our tasting takes place in a special equipped room where a qualified staff will guide your tasting and enjoy the perfect pairing of wine and food.
During the summer and good weather we can guide you through our vineyards for a wine tour to discover this wonderful wine world made of effort but rewards us with the most fascinating : the wine , symbol of pleasure and joy for our palates. Our wine shop is open every day and it will be possible to enjoy a refreshing aperitif after a hot day!
