The best way to enjoy nature and sea of the Island is to have a tour by boat around it, and to visit the wonderful Blue Grotto, while if you wish you can reach the Faraglioni by swimming from one of the beach resorts located in front of them.

ANACAPRI

Walking around the town centre visitors will appreciate the lovely Casa Rossa, decorated with different architectural styles, built between XVII and XVIII centuries, the enchanting complex of Teresians having a wonderful tiled floor, and moreover the attractive Villa San Michele which was Axel Munthe’s house.

EXCURSION AMALFI DRIVE
Don’t miss a visit to Amalfi, which gives its name to the entire coast; once a powerful and prosperous Marine Republic, the town is now a popular holiday resort.

Above the traditional buildings, at the top of the hill stands the beautiful Cathedral, which hosts the relics of Saint Andrew, patron Saint of both Amalfi and Scotland.

Beautiful Ravello is located on a hill about a thousand feet above sea level, and boasts interesting sights such as Villa Rufolo, which inspired Richard Wagner to create one of his most famous operas, Parsifal.

EXCURSION ISCHIA
Our tour starts from the port of Sorrento, with a 50-minute jetfoil journey across the Bay of Naples. The first stop is the Belvedere, to admire the magnificent view over the Citara Bay; then the excursion continues with a tour to S. Angelo at about 12.30 p.m., followed by some free time that can be spent at the beach.

The famous garden Mortella, located in the San Francesco area, run by Susanna Walton, the widow of English composer William Waltons who moved to Ischia in 1949. There are more than 3,000 types of plants in the garden, as well as fountains and pools with aquatic plants.

Departure from S. Angelo to Ischia port is at 4.00 p.m., whereas departure from the Gardens is at 4.40 p.m. The jetfoil leaves to Sorrento at 5.20 p.m.

EXCURSION POMPEI – VESUVIO
Our guide will lead you through some of the ancient streets of Pompeii to show you Baths, Forums and Villas built by the Romans in the year 80 B.C. Marvel at the fabulously preserved Frescoes which adorned the walls and floors of the Villas.

This archaeological site cannot fail to impress you. Mount Vesuvius, dominating the Bay of Naples, is the only active volcano on Europe’s mainland. Its slopes were once covered in vineyards and woods, and provided an innocent-looking backdrop for the bustling town below.

The guide will take you to the top of the volcano, from where you’ll be able to admire the entire bay.

EXCURSION POMPEI – ERCOLANO
Pompeii, currently a fascinating tourist sight, was buried during the 79 A.D. eruption of Mount Vesuvius; the town, high on the list of the Wonders of the World, began being excavated during the 18th century and works are still ongoing.

Our guide will lead you through some of the ancient streets of Pompeii to show you Baths, Forums and Villas built by the Romans in the year 80 B.C. Marvel at the fabulously preserved Frescoes which adorned the walls and floors of the Villas. This archaeological site cannot fail to impress you.

When the catastrophe of 79 A.D. occurred, Herculaneum was submerged under a torrent of mud and lava that hardened into a soft tufa that preserved many of the wooden parts of houses and household objects which can be seen today.

A large part of the town is still buried, and certainly many art treasures are still to be found. Return to Sorrento in the afternoon.
