At the end of the 19th century, George Parker Bidder III, a wealthy English marine biologist, who spent much of his time at the zoological department of the Royal Villa Comunale, saved the former Hotel Tramontano Beau Rivale, where he was a loyal guest, from financial ruin.

Grand Hotel Parker’s as it became known, transformed into the select retreat for the literary and cultural elite of British high society. Fast forward to the aftermath of WW II and Grand Hotel Parker’s is once again rescued but this time by Francesco Paolo Avallone, patron of the fine arts.

The classical style of the XIX century distinguishes Parker’s Suite, the original residence of the founder, George Bidder Parker, who gave his name to the hotel. The grand drawing room is bathed in natural light and the gentle sea breeze from the two Liberty balconies restores the spirits of our illustrious guests today, just as it did 150 years ago.

The Parker’s Suite retains the original antique furniture and the founder’s private collection of books. The first floor is perfect for relaxation, business meetings and private events.

Parker’s collection of bronzes are reproductions inspired by the classical statues found in Pompeii and Herculaneum, made by the Chiurazzi Artistic Foundry which since 1870, the same year of birth of the hotel, became famous throughout Italy for the artistic quality of its works.
