Sometimes the most beautiful spots are the hidden ones: a quiet lemon grove tucked behind a historic villa or a shimmering swimming pool overlooking the domes of the historic center. Or, for example, Casa Mariantonia: an unforgettable boutique hotel right in the center of Anacapri.

Casa Mariantonia was one of the first inns on the Island of Capri, and has more than a century of experience in welcoming travelers. We are located right in the center of Anacapri, just a few steps from all the island’s most beautiful sights and public transportation.

Our great-grandmother Mariantonia invented limoncello, perfect to sample directly beneath our lemon trees. Many only know the island of Capri for the Piazzetta, the Faraglioni rock formations, and the luxury shopping.

But there is “another Capri”, quieter and perhaps more authentic, where visitors can languidly stroll, discover small artisan workshops and neighborhood corner stores, stop for an espresso at the local cafè, and relax on the ceramic-tiled benches to watch the local children play soccer in the sun. This is Anacapri.

Casa Mariantonia is located on Anacapri’s main pedestrian street, right in the center of town and just steps from the bus stop for routes to all the island’s main sights.

ROOMS & SUITES
It’s always a pleasure to stay where there is a style that reflects the history and culture of a place, instead of the anonymous modern dècor of international hotels… where guests feel more like they are staying in a home than in a hotel.

The rooms at Casa Mariantonia have this elegant yet familiar feel, with their mix of traditional island architecture, including vaulted ceilings and arches, and small touches of contemporary design. Because it’s nice to feel at home on vacation, but in a home with a story to tell.

SUITE PUNTA CARENA
This suite is on the top floor of the hotel, so the views are sweeping and overlook the Mediterranean. It is 55 square meters and has a separate living area and bedroom.

There is a queen-size sofabed and the option of a third bed. The suite also has two bathrooms. Includes a private terrace with sun loungers. The perfect solution for couples on a honeymoon or for families traveling with children.

JUNIOR SUITE
The junior suite has a private terrace overlooking the citrus grove surrounding the hotel and Mount Solaro. It has both a living area and a separate sleeping area. The suite is 35 square meters and has a sofabed. It can sleep up to three guests, or a couple with two small children

DELUXE ROOM
Our four deluxe rooms are 25 square metersca. and overlook the hotel’s citrus grove from a private patio. As in all of our rooms, the beds are over two meters in length. Guests can opt for a king size or two twin beds. In two of our deluxe rooms, there is the option of adding a third single bed.

SUPERIOR ROOM
The two Superior Rooms at Casa Mariantonia have a small terrace with access to the pool and the garden. They are 23 square meters ca. and have tubs in the bathroom.

COMFORT ROOMS
Our Comfort Rooms are our smallest, at about 18 square meters ca., but boast the same elegant style as our other rooms. These also have a lovely terrace with a view of the citrus grove.

LA ZAGARA RESTAURANT & WINE BAR
La Zagara is Casa Mariantonia’s in-house restaurant and wine bar, two different venues and two different ways to sample the flavors of Capri. For lunch, drinks, or dinner: there’s always something delicious being served in the informal yet elegant La Zagara. If you’re on Capri, you’re on holiday…

At La Zagara restaurant, lunch and dinner is served beneath Casa Mariantonia’s citrus grove. The mediterranean flavors and scents are the essence of our menu and the chef creates our traditional cuisine reinterpreted in a modern way. Followed up, of course, by a glass of limoncello.

La Zagara Wine Bar is located on Via Giuseppe Orlandi, the main street in Anacapri. From both its indoor and outdoor tables, guests can order a glass of wine, hors d’oeuvres, or cheese and charcuterie plates. Or simply stop for a quick aperitivo before moving on to dinner. Hours: 6:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.

THE BREAKFAST
Try our homemade cakes, including the famous Torta Caprese. Begin your day with a pinch of sugar…

THE LUNCH
Settle in under the lemon grove and get ready to savor our chef’s delicate yet delicious specialties.

THE HAPPY HOUR
A glass of wine and some light hors d’oeuvres at our wine bar…let your evening on Capri begin!

EVENTS
Casa Mariantonia is the perfect venue for intimate events and celebrations where lifelong memories are made. Our lemon grove is a romantic backdrop for small weddings, with the scent of orange blossoms on the sea breeze, and the gorgeous Capri sunset.

IN THE HEART OF ANACAPRI

EASY EXCURSIONS
Casa Mariantonia boasts an excellent location. By day, it’s easy to reach all the most famous sights on the Island of Capri: Villa San Michele and the chairlift for Mount Solaro are just steps away, and the bus stop for routes to the center of Capri, the Blue Grotto, Marina Grande, and the lighthouse is a short walk.

In the evening, it’s wonderful to stroll down Anacapri’s main street with its locals, exploring the excellent traditional restaurants and people-watching.

However, if you are looking for a glamorous night out in the clubs near Capri’s Piazzetta, no problem! The Capri-Anacapri bus runs until 4 a.m. in the summertime, and there are taxis available 24 hours a day.

NEARBY
At Casa Mariantonia, our island welcome extends to helping our guests organize a memorable stay on Capri, be is a short break or a long sojourn. We can suggest itineraries and sights both famous and unknown.

BOAT TOUR OF THE ISLAND
We always recommend a private boat tour of the Island of Capri to our guests, best if done in a traditional wooden “gozzo”. The most breathtaking views of Capri are doubtless by sea, and if you plan on spending a full day exploring the coast, we can suggests the best restaurants set directly along the waterfront.

THE BLUE GROTTO
The Blue Grotto can be visited during a stop on your boat tour of the island, or by going directly to the cave entrance and boarding one of the small wooden rowboats which carry visitors inside. From Casa Mariantonia, you can take the short walk to the cave entrance or go by bus.

VILLA SAN MICHELE
This was the residence commissioned by the Swedish physician and writer Axel Munthe and built on the most scenic point in Anacapri.

Today, the villa is a museum where visitors can view a turn of the century home with its collection of archaeological artifacts found on the island and one of the most beautiful gardens in all of Italy. It’s an easy walk from Casa Mariantonia.

MOUNT SOLARO
From atop the island’s highest peak, visitors enjoy a panoramic view over the Island of Capri, the Gulf of Naples, the Amalfi Coast, and the islands of Ischia and Procida.

You can reach the top comfortably seated on the chairlift which departs from Piazza della Vittoria (just a few meters from Casa Mariantonia) and, if descending on foot, stop by the Cetrella Hermitage on the way back down.

THE CHURCH OF SAN MICHELE
In this tiny church near Casa Mariantonia, the spectacular majolica floor depicting Adam and Eve’s expulsion from the Garden of Eden is a must-see.

THE PUNTA CARENA LIGHTHOUSE
Anacapri’s lighthouse is the second largest in Italy and towers over Punta Carena, one of the most popular spots for locals who want to take a dip in the crystalline waters of the Mediterranean. We recommend going at (or staying until) sunset and enjoying nature’s light show with a cocktail in hand.
