Focus for a moment on the location of our hotel and our rooms with a view, there is no hotel in Florence that can be proud of their location like us. If you lean out of the rooms’ windows you feel like you are touching the Cathedral with your hands.
Having breakfast under the “Brunelleschi’s Dome” will be a unique and unforgettable experience. The hotel is located in Piazza del Duomo n. 1 , only 700 meters from the main train station of Santa Maria Novella (SMN), easily reachable on foot or by taxi.
The Hotel is part of a 14th century building, which was residence to the Gondi family, from where the palace facing the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore takes its’ name from. The hotel extends on three floors total, with the reception being situated on the 4th floor and reachable by elevator from the ground floor.
Other than the 4th floor, our rooms are situated on the 3rd and on the 5th floor, reached by just 19 internal stairs but don’t worry, our staff is available to help with your bags in case of.
CLASSIC ROOM
Available as double room, twin beds on request or double room for single use, bright and comfortable, will make you enjoy authentic relax moments, fully tasting every bit of your stay from your private balcony. Deluxe rooms with Balcony and Partial View over the Cathedral and on the rooftops of the city are all non-smoking.
Rooms of approximately 15 sqm with double bed ( twin bed configuration on request), oak wooden floor, private bathroom with bidet and shower box, air conditioning / heating and free WI-FI.
From the balcony you can enjoy a beautiful partial view on the Cathedral and on the rooftops of Florence. It is allowed to smoke outside in the balcony making sure that smoke does not enter the room.
For double rooms children under 8 years old stay for free when staying in the existing beds (no additional beds). Children under 3 years old stay for free when staying in a baby crib/cot (crib/cot has to be requested to the reception in advance and is subject to availability). Maximum 1 baby crib/cot allowed per room.
SUPERIOR ROOM
Available as double room or twin separate beds, perfect for spending unforgettable moments with the loved one. After a day of discovering excursions and tours, enjoy the relaxation with a view you can only have from this room, maybe while projecting what to discover next.
The Superior Double room #40 has two windows and an astonishing view over the Dome, is approximately 17 sqm, non-smoking, double bed ( twin bed configuration on request ).
Oak wooden floor, private bathroom with shower cabin, air conditioning, Smart Satellite TV and free WI-FI. From the room you can enjoy an amazing view on the Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral.
THE BREAKFAST
Every morning from 7.00 AM till 10.00 AM we serve a very rich continental buffet breakfast. We always try to find the best quality products for our guests, by mixing the traditional to the international with a very rich variety of fresh desserts and cakes. All our products are fresh from the market and our staff is strongly committed to its preparation.
THE CONCIERGE
The reception is open 24 hours; we provide our guests with a map of the city, information on what to see and visit, information on trains’ timetables, we can book tours, restaurants, car rentals and whatever you need that we can book.
We offer a free booking service on the major Florentine museums ( Accademia Gallery, Uffizi Museum), the ticket can then be paid directly at the box offices entering the museums.
At the hotel, it is also possible to book guided tours of Florence itself and other outside destinations. Our staff is always at your complete disposal to please your requests, just ask, we will think of the rest.
THE LOCATION
Hotel Duomo has a stunning location. At Piazza Duomo 1, in the heart of the historic city center, just steps from the world of art and culture that Florence offers like the Uffizi Gallery, the Old Bridge, Pitti Palace and many more. The main railway station Santa Maria Novella is easily reached on foot along Via Panzani and Via de’ Cerretani in a few minutes.
