In a stunning renovation led by internationally acclaimed designer Francis Sultana, in what is his first ever hotel project, Hotel La Palma has been designed to be an inviting home away from home. Sultana deftly captured Capri’s beautiful lightness and minimalism while injecting flair and flourishes in a nod to the island’s 1950s jet-set era.

Much-loved Italian chef Gennaro Esposito is at helm of Hotel La Palma’s kitchens. A simple, stylish step back in time to the Capri of the 1950s, Gennaro’s restaurant embraces the timeless romance of the island, serving unpretentious, authentic Italian cuisine.

Bianca, a glamorous, newly built rooftop restaurant and bar open for dinner, offers spectacular views over Capri Village and the sea in the distance. Paying homage to the ‘classic Capri’ of the golden age, Hotel La Palma’s newly built pool deck and Aqua Bar offer the best seat in town to watch the world go by below.

Located in the beating heart of Capri, just steps from the famous Piazzetta, Hotel La Palma is perfectly positioned for guests to visit some of the most notable sites of Capri: I Giardini di Augusto, Via Krupp, La Certosa and the iconic Faraglioni.

HISTORY & HERITAGE
Originally opened in 1822, Hotel La Palma – formerly known as Locanda Pagano – is the oldest hotel on Capri. The original owner, notary Giuseppe Pagano, hosted travellers in his villa for the pleasure of long conversations and often, his guests were artists, poets, writers, architects, painters, and musicians, all who showed their gratitude by painting the walls, writing poems, singing, and playing in what was dubbed the ‘Artists’ Hotel.

A collective of creatives began to gather from all over the world, inspirited by the genius loci and charmed by the smooth, familiar atmosphere of this eccentric hotel. Today, Hotel La Palma guests will once again receive the same warm Italian welcome.

LA PALMA SUITE
An undeniably chic cocoon, tranquility abounds in La Palma Suite, with splashes of Mediterranean blue and turquoise allowing interiors visionary Francis Sultana’s rich design details to come to the fore.

Sultana has created a light-filled space that affords absolute comfort without comprising on elegance through thoughtfully curated furnishings and finishes with custom-made pieces from icons of Italian craftsmanship.

Rising above the heart of Capri, the suite is encircled by an expansive terrace, offering the most authentic caprese view. The inviting layout of the spacious bathroom also allows for the bathtub to enjoy its own private space and balcony. This is the largest suite of the hotel and it can be configured into a two or five-bedroom suite measuring over 227 sqm.

A reservation in La Palma Suite additionally comes with a dedicated host and a complimentary day at Da Gioia Beach Club’s private beach (up to 6 people). PRESTIGE SUITE
Counting 72 square metres (775 square feet) of serene indoor living space, The Prestige Suite offers an additional 52-square-metre (560-square-foot) loggia to enjoy the warm sea air in the shade. Providing a king-sized bed and a sofa bed, this suite features a dining area and direct access to the hotel pool.

SUPERIOR SUITE TERRACE
The Superior Suite Terrace spans a roomy 53 square metres (570 square feet) and features a large, 21-square-metre (226-square-foot) terrace that is your private haven for sunbathing or stargazing. This suite is appointed with a king-sized bed in addition to a sofa bed.

JUNIOR SUITE PRESTIGE LOGGIA
Spanning 45 square metres (484 square feet) of serene comfort, the Junior Suites Prestige Loggia feature a 14-square-metre (150-square-foot) loggia and come appointed with a king-sized bed or two twin beds, upon request, in addition to a sofa bed. With the possibility to connect with another suite of the same category, the Junior Suites Prestige Loggia offer direct access to the hotel pool.

PRESTIGE TERRACE ROOM
The Prestige Terrace Rooms span 37 square metres (398 square feet) and offer the options of a king-sized bed or two twin beds, a double vanity and a small balcony or loggia, upon request. Prestige Terrace Rooms can be connected with another room of the same category.

In true Italian fashion, Hotel La Palma is a gourmand’s delight under the culinary direction of Chef Gennaro Esposito, a culinary hero in Italy, having run his own two-Michelin Star restaurant, Torre del Saracino, for the last 23 years.

A simple, stylish step back in time to the Capri of the 1950s, Gennaro’s embraces the timeless romance of the island, serving unpretentious, authentic Italian cuisine. A contemporary, vibrant place that shuns formality and celebrates the spirit and cuisine of Capri, Gennaro’s also benefits from being right next door to the great Taverna Anema e Core.

In addition, Hotel La Palma offers a brand-new pool deck, complete with an elegant pool bar which pays homage to the ‘classic Capri’ of the golden age.

GENNARO’S
The breezy glamour of 1950’s Capri has been channelled in every detail of La Palma’s flagship restaurant, Gennaro’s. Named after the chef at the helm, this restaurant is a genuine reflection of Gennaro Esposito himself with its warm, relaxed atmosphere and menu showcasing authentic Italian classics revisited with characteristic flair.

Open for all-day dining, La Palma Bar & Terrace is a place to gather, relax, enjoy a meal, refresh with a drink and revel in the spirit of Capri at one of the island’s most prominent addresses.

AQUA BAR
Located on the hotel’s pool deck and accessible exclusively by resident guests, Aqua Bar offers a tantalising menu of delicious, handcrafted cocktails and light, healthy snacks to enjoy poolside.

Embodying the golden age of Capri and the island’s eternal spirit of la dolce vita, the bar is an intimate gathering spot where guests can relax in the sun and the understated glamour of the convivial atmosphere.

DA GIOIA BY LA PALMA
A short drive to Capri’s southern coast, Hotel La Palma’s chic yet laid-back beach club, Da Gioia by La Palma, is located in a prime position in Marina Piccola. This is the place where fabulous people come and go, to watch sun-drenched days flow into glittering twilight evenings.

Open to non-hotel guests as well, and accessible via private tender for neighbouring yachts, Da Gioia by La Palma is the meeting place of choice on the island for long, lazy lunches created by Esposito.

MORNING ADVENTURE
Start the day on a high note. From Piazza Vittoria in Anacapri, on the west, the chairlift ride to the peak of Mount Solaro takes about 12 minutes, and from there you can enjoy 360-degree views over the island. After admiring the panorama, pay a visit to the charming Cetrella Hermitage, a 14th-century church which seems to cling to the mountainside.

Once back on lower ground, follow Via Capodimonte to Villa San Michele, the house-museum built by the celebrated Swedish doctor Axel Munthe. Then wind up at Via Giuseppe Orlandi, Anacapri’s main pedestrian street.

Stop to admire the majolica floor in the Church of San Michele and to visit the Casa Rossa or Red House Museum. There are plenty of artisanal shops selling handmade products to browse in along the way.
