For more than fifty years, Le Calette has been known worldwide as one of the most charming corners of the Sicilian coast. Set on a vast park, 2 km far from the historic center of Cefalù (UNESCO site), the Boutique Hotel follows with its Mediterranean architecture the natural folds of the coast of the Caldura bay, insinuating itself into the coves from which it takes its name.

A choice of suites and rooms in two complexes, Le Calette N°5 (five-star) and Le Calette Bay (four-star), and villas. Terraces and Mediterranean gardens overlooking the sea with restaurants, bars, beach club and wellness areas.

THE HISTORY
For more than fifty years Le Calette Hotel has accompanied the history of the last generations of the Cacciola family. Santino, engineer, who has combined a technical view with his own creative intuition to generate an oasis of well-being.

Francesca, Santino’s daughter, together with her husband Angelo Miccichè, esteemed architect, in a few years have undertaken the commitment to guide Le Calette up to the Olympus of the Sicilian 5-star Hotels.

The third generation has arrived with Gaia, the youngest daughter of the couple, who, after years of studying and working around the world, has chosen to contribute to the management of the family business which had always been home to her.

ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN
Le Calette developed over the years as a tangible metaphor of harmony and beauty, following the natural conformation of the bay that hosts it. The ideal place for those who want to combine culture and art, relax and the seaside when on vacation, on a totalizing experience of Sicilian sensuality.

Every single element would not be of such beauty and harmony if they had not been designed by the attentive eye of Angelo, the architect, and would not have their distinguished Mediterranean soul if they had not been furnished and organized by Francesca, who has given (and received) love at Le Calette, since her childhood.

SUITE
Two bright open space areas open on the first floor onto the large terrace overlooking the sea and the swimming pool with armchairs and sun loungers. 40 sqm furnished in a modern style with rare Sicilian antiques. One king-size bed and a third sofa bed. The bathroom and wardrobe area with hammam shower cabin or hydro-massage bathtub.

PRESTIGE ROOM
A unique, fresh and modern environment on the first floor of the main building with a comfortable terrace overlooking the swimming pool and the sea, equipped with armchairs and a table. 27 sqm with a queen-size bed or two twin beds facing the sea.

DELUXE ROOM
The patio on the ground floor gives access through a glass wall to bright spaces furnished in a modern style. 30 m² in two rooms with a queen-size bed and a third sofa bed. In the bathroom area, shower and toilet separated by a small walk-in wardrobe. Some with a furnished patio, bordered by flower beds, and a view of the pool and the sea in the background.

DINING
Sicily is the gastronomical paradise of Italy. No other region has had the possibility to experiment, contaminate, cultivate and protect its own gastronomic culture – achieved from century-long stratification of voyages, conquests, culture and cultivation – like the “Sicilian continent”.

Migration and nostoi – departures and returns – have created a fascinating kaleidoscope of tastes, which become a declination of joy and conviviality in its dishes. This is the world desired by the Miccichè family at Le Calette. Each gastronomical proposal has its own space dedicated and declined by its restaurants.

The Cala Luna for charming fine dining, is on a huge lawn under the stars of Cefalù in the summer and in the Rizz’i Mari, an elegant panoramic dining room, on cooler days. The Calette Reef is a restaurant by the sea, on a terrace overlooking the bay of Caldura, for more casual, entertaining and captivating moments.

CALA LUNA
Fine dining restaurant on a lawn under the stars of Cefalù from June to September with an open plan kitchen and a view of the sea, Caldura sea stacks and the “Rocca”. On cooler days the Cala Luna is transferred to the elegant and panoramic dining room Rizz’i Mari that is on the first floor in the main body of the Hotel. Recommended by the Michelin Guide 2023.

Lively and contemporary, the chef’s proposal is based on the huge gastronomical patrimony of the territory. Nature is his inspiration. He accurately selects his raw materials through the supply chain of farmers, breeders, fishermen and producers who work in an ethical and sustainable way avoiding, where possible, wholesalers and importers.

A natural cuisine, full of tastes and colours which, with simplicity and great technique, manages to valorise each ingredient, from the simplest to the most refined considering everything at the same level.

THE WINE CELLAR
The wine list expresses a tribute to the two regions which had the most influence on chef Dario Pandolfo’s career, the “Sicilian continent” – the greatest and most varied wine making region in the world – and the mountains of Alto Adige.

The accurate selection by the head sommelier – who accompanies guests between icons and discoveries, from the fresh and elegant wines from the dolomites and mountains to the new proposals of natural Sicilian wines, to the Etna area or the smaller islands which hold the flag for a modern Sicilian wine making culture and accompany the gastronomical proposals at Cala Luna perfectly.

RIZZ’I MARI
On cooler days the Cala Luna is transferred to the elegant and panoramic dining room Rizz’i Mari that is on the first floor in the main body of the Hotel. In spring and autumn, a welcoming cream coloured environment with porcelain, ceramics, glassware and furniture inspired by the tables of noble Sicilians, accompanies the fine dining of chef Pandolfo.

CALETTE REEF
Seaside restaurant on a terrace overlooking the bay of the Caldura, ideal for informal, frivolous moments. The flavours: those typical of the Mediterranean cuisine. From June to September.

Deep in the luxuriant vegetation of the bay, you can try sharing immediate and genuine dishes inspired by traditional Sicilian recipes. An enjoyable and captivating cuisine in “Bistro di Mare” style run by the chef Giovanni Coglitore.

With comfortable rattan furnishings and luxurious tropical plants time passes slowly in the company of a glass of wine chosen from the wine list which proposes a precise selection of local wines together with sparkling wines to accompany the bistro menu.

It is possible to move directly from the restaurant to the Calette Reef Club, which overlooks a private inlet with a bar, plenty of room to relax and a teak solarium with comfortable king-sized sun beds.

Open every day from 10 in the morning for the whole summer season. You will find large and comfortable king-size beds, which can accommodate up to three people. The service also includes free parking, hot showers and changing rooms.

You can enjoy refreshing drinks created by expert bartenders and also order comfortably from the king-size beds placed in front of the sea. For sports lovers, there is no shortage of canoes and stand up paddles for a ride among the coves of the bay.

On the terraces overlooking the bay of Caldura you can take advantage of the à la carte restaurant consisting of Mediterranean dishes with a modern twist. CALETTA SELVAGGIA
Following one of the paths, which leads from the Hotel to the sea, among steps carved into the rock and prickly pear blades, you reach an unspoiled cove ideal for nature lovers.

CALETTA PRESIDIANA
The tourist port of Presidiana develops on the slopes of the Rocca, near the imposing lighthouse of Cefalù. A suggestive view to enjoy from the pebble beach in a cove smoothed by the sea. Accessible beach.

CEFALÙ
Cefalù, selected among I borghi più belli di Italia (the most beautiful villages in Italy), is among the most fascinating destinations in Sicily. Located on the north coast, between a crystal-clear sea and an imposing promontory, it is a perfect example of the beauties that the Italian territory has to offer.

Built around the Rocca, an imposing mogote which over the centuries held a defensive role, the ancient Kephaloidion – from the Greek head, which refers to the natural conformation of the rock that overlooks the city – has been the scene of multiple dominations over time.

The heart of the ancient city is Piazza Duomo, where the profile of the Norman Cathedral, built in the twelfth century by King Roger II and today inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, stands out.

From here, points of artistic, landscape and cultural interest branch off and follow up to the Caldura district, which welcomes the Hotel Le Calette in a beautiful bay with its reddish rocks, formerly called Tallarita, Baronello and Passarella.

Cefalù is one of the places that the cinema has fallen in love with since its first filming, from the great classics such as Vacanze d’amore, A ciascuno il suo and Nuovo Cinema Paradiso, to more modern giants such as Indiana Jones 5 and the TV series The White Lotus and From Scratch, the latter of which was also filmed in the evocative settings of Hotel Le Calette.

CEFALÙ WALKING TOUR

ROCCA OF CEFALÙ

MANDRALISCA MUSEAUM
A few meters from the Cathedral of Cefalù, the museum preserves the artistic heritage and legacy of Enrico Pirajno from Mandralisca within its ancient walls. There are two masterpieces kept there: the magnificent Portrait of a Man by Antonello da Messina and the Sicilian crater of the red-figure tuna seller on a black background.
