Located in the ancient village of Gressoney La Trinitè, immersed in the heart of the Alps and wonderful landscapes of the Aosta Valley, the Hotel Lo Scoiattolo is ready to welcome its guests in a comfortable, familiar and cared setting in every detail.

The scent of wood, the flavors of traditional local cuisine, the Wellness Center and all the services offered make your stay unforgettable. The Hotel offers different solutions for all types of stay. Comfortable and carefully equipped, each type of room is distinguished by its own peculiarity.

The 35 rooms, divided into 6 different types, guarantee the right solution for all types of stay: from the long weekend to the real holiday. All furnished with style and equipped with the necessary amenities to ensure maximum relaxation and well-being.

“Man is what he eats,” said the philosopher Ludwig Feuerbach. And this is why Lo Scoiattolo offers its guests a place where taste and desire meet. To frame your evenings a crackling fireplace, which makes the environment even more unique. Evenings that, as the ancient gressonara tradition teaches, are cheered by grappa, Genepy and Valdostan coffee.

THE HISTORY
It was 1985 when dad and mum, Ferruccio Thedy and Silvana Bethaz respectively, opened the doors of the ‘Scoiattolo’, a small and characteristic mountain hotel.

Many years have passed, the hotel has been renovated, refurbished and enlarged, but the heart of hospitality is the same, because the warmth and friendliness of our house is made up of the people, not only the family itself but all our collaborators. We want our motto to be: ‘it’s the people who make the difference’.

SUITE
The Suites are ideal for families and for those who want to spend memorable stays. They are spacious and attentive to details, the services offer both bath and shower, and for the most demanding there is also a private infrared sauna. They can accommodate up to 4 people. It is possible to request separate beds.

JUNIOR SUITE
Our Junior Suites are characterized by brightness and space. Parquet, wood panelling, fine curtains and matching fabrics make these rooms magical. Some with balcony, others with bath, are particularly suitable for families up to 4 people. It is possible to request separate beds.

BIO-COMFORT ROOM
Among the favourite by guests of the Hotel, the Bio-Comfort Rooms, all equipped with balconies, are built with the “soligno system”, a technique that allowsyou to built without the use of nails and glue.

Covered in pine wood, which gives the experience of staying in a naturally scented environment, and with traditional larch wood parquet. They offer space, comfort and privacy thanks to the perfect soundproofing. They can accommodate from 2 to 3 people. It is possible to request separate beds.

DINING
Every moment of the day is an opportunity to be delighted by our preparations. Starting from the rich breakfast with organic products, the restaurant cared with passion and that offers seasonal products, km 0 and linked to the Aosta Valley tradition, up to a prestigious wine list to accompany tasty dishes.

Following the footsteps of Silvana, the restaurant is personally run by her daughter Azzurra and her nephew Leonardo. The rich dishes, tasty and cared in every ingredient, are able to give to the tastebuds that taste that the good memories need to be kept in the heart.

Among the classic dishes, stand out those of the Aosta Valley tradition, revisited in a slightly more modern way. In addition to the passion of our chefs, fundamental importance is the choice of the raw material: linked to the seasonality, possibly of the territory (when not at Km 0), but always, unavoidably of the highest quality. The meal is then completed by bread and homemade cakes.

THE BREAKFAST
Delicious, rich and suitable for everyone: from breakfast we reserve a particular attention to organic products and the territory. It is Served as buffet at the restaurant with hot, cold, sweet and savory; juices; coffee and much more.

THE BAR
The Bar is an island of refreshment where you can regenerate; it is bright and modern, but at the same time retains the charm and design typical of mountain environments. Open from 7.30 am to 1.00 am (midnight in summer), it offers Guests coffee service, Wines&Drink and a rich Food card to have a snack during the day, waiting to fully delight at the restaurant.

KM 0
Hotel Lo Scoiattolo has a vegetable garden of about 1,000 square meters, personally cared for by Umberto’s passion and love for the land and its fruits.

Salad, chard, zucchini, green beans, leeks, cabbage, celery and carrots, herbs and potatoes (white and red): all products that Chef Azzurra uses in the kitchen to prepare delicious dishes. The products are used freshly picked and are not treated so as to keep intact all their fragrance and flavor.

Compotes, jams, Valle d’Aosta apple juice, chestnuts and many more are the products that come from the family’s artisan business. The Winery is well-stocked with all typical products of the Aosta Valley and a good number of prestigious national labels.

THE SPA
For your body, your mind and your senses…let us pamper you! Sauna, Turkish bath with aroma and chrome therapy, whirlpool, Scottish shower, Kneipp path and relaxation area with herbal tea in a comfortable and well-kept. Massages and wellness treatments, carried out by qualified personnel to find harmony with yourselves and your body.

The SPA service of the Hotel Lo Scoiattolo is always free for all guests. Access to the SPA area, by reservation, is allowed from the age of 14. Treatments are open to all ages. Open Daily from 14:30 to 20:30

Our professional operators are able to perform massages suitable for your every need: if you want a gentle relaxation a massage with essential oils is ideal; Ayurvedic is perfect for restoring the physical and mental energy balance. The Swedish or the decontracting are perfect for working on the muscles, whether in preparation for physical activity or relaxing.

LIVING ROOM WITH FIREPLACE
In an intimate and familiar room, framed in winter by the crackling warmth of the fireplace and in summer by the reflection of the changing colors of geraniums, the living room is the ideal place to relax in the company of a good book.

The Hotel offers a rich library that will allow you to discover all the secrets and curiosities of Gressoney La Trinitè. Texts, illustrated books, photo albums and much more to immerse yourself in the magical history of this ancient village.

THE STUBE
Typical of alpine areas, although it is mainly widespread in Austria and Germany (homeland), the Stube is a room completely covered in wood. It was once the only heated room in the house because there was the stove (word from which it takes its name).

Furnished with wooden tables, adorned with pretty tablecloths, it is possible to sip a good infusion, a cocktail or a simple tea, prepared directly at our bar, and have a chat or a game with the other guests of the Hotel. Part of the room has been used as a nice and safe play area for younger guests.

THE LIBRARY
Chatting with friends or reading one of the many books that enrich our multilingual library will be really pleasant, especially sitting in comfortable sofas, warmed by the warmth emanating from the characteristic gressonara soapstone stove. As in the whole structure, it is covered by WiFi internet, so it is also a quiet place for those who have to study or work.

For this reason, there are some tables. An additional richness is the typical Swiss pine wardrobe that houses, on sight, the precious gressonara costumes. On request, this room is transformed into a small conference hall, with a maximum capacity of 30 people.

EXPERIENCES & ACTIVITIES
Gressoney La Trinité is the last town in the Lys valley, nestled in the majestic chain of Monte Rosa, away from traffic and stress, away from the noise of cars and the heat of the asphalt, surrounded by greenery and quiet nature.

The history of Gressoney is closely linked to the Walser community, a population of Germanic origin that came here at the end of the XIII century through the Teodulo Hill. Perhaps it was for their presence, and, certainly for the beauty of the place, the reasons why Queen Margherita of Savoy chose it as a place of the heart.

Here she built a castle where she spent all her summers. Thanks to her presence, the valley had a strong tourist impulse. This vocation has developed over the decades to this day, without impacting the landscape.

GRESSONEY – THE REGION
Those who stay in Gressoney have the opportunity to enjoy not only itineraries that develop between meadows, woods and characteristic Walser houses, or the 4000 of Monte Rosa, but also to ride a steed or a e-Mountainbike, playing tennis or golf between the 12 holes in front of the Rosa, climbing on the cliffs or on the via ferrata, swimming in the large swimming pool of the Palazzetto dello Sport or experiencing the thrill of paragliding.

What if it’s not enough? The Aosta Valley is a treasure trove full of gems: the many castles you can visit, the Fort of Bard, the important Roman remains and the precious churches and chapels, even an impressive megalithic area. And more: important exhibitions, concerts, festivals.

THE WINTER TIME
In winter Gressoney turns into a large white circus where you can slide on the almost two hundred km of slopes of Monterosaski, or in the exciting off-piste accompanied by local guides, or you can opt to go cross-country skiing, on whose rings were formed Olympic champions of yesterday and today. For the more adventurous there is climbing on ice falls and for the youngest (and not only) the opportunity to juggle on the ice rinks.

THE NATURE
