THE BREAKFAST
An opulent choice of food and drinks in the form of a menu card. More than 100 delicacies make the breakfast in the light and airy winter garden a real edible still life. Everything that is offered from 7 to 11 a.m. (on Sundays until 12 p.m.) is truly mouth-watering.

Restaurant Manager Antonello Pizzo knows what guests love for breakfast. Only a few years ago, it was salmon, ham, and pastries. Now it is spreads, crudités, fruits, nuts, and wholefood pastries.

At the moment, the must-eat is French toast with cinnamon and sugar, and one classic is still eggs in a glass. Guests definitely must try natural delicacies made from organic goat and sheep milk products. Sweet or savoury. Trendy or classic . PORTO BELLO & LOUNGE
Anyone who knows the Porto Bello from the past will hardly recognize it: everything is new and different. The terraces, the seating, the kitchen, the colors and the atmosphere in the restaurant and lounge.

The motto is “Carinthia, a modern interpretation”. And that theme runs through the architecture, through the design and colors, to the kitchen and clothing of the employees. In the colors of the Carinthian flag, managing director Helena Ramsbacher and interior designer Vendula Prosch set design trends in the new Porto Bello. Red tulips bloom on plates.

Yellow, red and white lanterns hang from the ceiling. Red and yellow fabrics cover the bar stools and lounge furniture. Staff members, wearing white sneakers and short aprons in yellow, red and white, serve homemade pasta and Wörthersee fish.

From the furnishings to the dishes, everything in the new lake restaurant is design. The design team opted for seating furniture from Wittmann, KFF, Royal Botania and Fast.

The workmanship took place in colors according to the theme “Carinthia, a modern interpretation” and surprises with all sorts of bold style elements. Pleasure for the eyes is guaranteed as well as pleasure for the palate from the cuisine.

EMOTION. This is the name of the porcelain series from the well-known Milanese company for porcelain and tableware Taitù. In the look of Flemish paintings, the beauty of nature is shown on the colorful dishes: tulips bloom, butterflies fly and snails with fringes interpret “slow food” in an artistic way.

It’s cool and exciting on the new terrace by the hotel’s own marina. True to the motto, the kitchen is interpreted in a modern Carinthian style.

In the brand new Lohberger kitchen, delicious pasta and fish dishes are prepared under the direction of head chef Richard Hessl. The pasta is homemade with a new pasta machine. The fish comes fresh from lake Wörthersee.

It sits sublime on the balcony above the terraces. And the feeling of floating arises a little – above things, above the water, closer to the sky. Probably the new favorite place for many, if it weren’t for the casual lounge and bar à la Harrods.

Here, as there, you can eat very casually: small snacks or light summer dishes from the Alps-Adriatic cuisine. And of course there is a large selection of classic, trendy and cool drinks for a romantic sundowner at the most beautiful spot on lake Wörthersee.

Walnut, marble, mirrors, leaf golf finishes, a tiled stove in Empire style and a sonorous baby grand piano give the bar style and elegance. Udo Jürgens often sat at the piano. Did you also hear “Merci Cherie”? In any case, the bar guests say: Merci for the nice, sociable hours.

Over 400 bottles sit on the shelves of the Schlossbar. The selection of whisk(e)y with more than 60 types of bourbon, scotch and Irish whiskey is impressive. One novelty is the range of chocolates that go with the whisk(e)ys from the Carinthian chocolate manufactory Craigher.

Statesman Winston Churchill liked to do it. Even non-statesmen do it at the Seefels: They smoke their cigars with pleasure – in the wonderful outdoor cigar lounge with a lake view. Davidoff, Romeo y Julieta, Santa Damiana and Cohiba keep their freshness and aroma in the humidor.

Bar manager Christoph Turian shakes, floats and stirs cocktails with enthusiasm. When asked about the most popular cocktails, he named Bellini, Fraisini and Testarossa for women, Martini cocktails and Bottle Aged Negroni for men. Vermouth is well-known and trendy right now.

Up to 30 types of tea from the renowned Ronnefeld tea house are on the tea menu. The hot drink is served in a cast iron Ronnefeld jug with five types of sugar – pure or accompanied by freshly baked cakes or strudel, light and airy macarons, fine tea cakes or small piquants.

As the regular guitarist of Franco Andolfo, Diego Piotto played in the finest nightclubs in the world. LAKE POOL
Hotel Schloss Seefels knew how to make excellent use of their top location on the lake. Space was not available for an outdoor pool, because the hotel is so close to the shores of lake Wörthersee. So, the outdoor pool simply relocated to the lake itself.

Back then as well as today, a lake pool of this kind is a unique feature, because the pool is open at the bottom. This special feature can be found in only 3 hotels is Austria, and Hotel Schloss Seefels is one of them.

The lake pool at Hotel Schloss Seefels is comparable to a bathtub without a bottom, only much larger: 14 x 10 metres. Imagine this technically complex structure as an enclosure that is open at the bottom. With organic energy heating, the water in this area is heated up to 28 degrees in cooler months.

This temperature makes swimming in the Wörthersee possible year-round. In the cooler months, bathrobes are heated to body temperature in a heated box while you swim for a pleasant feeling after a dip in the pool.

Water plants, algae, mussels. The enclosure is a temporary home for water-friendly inhabitants. The lake pool is cleaned every 10 to 14 days. For the maintenance technicians, this is a challenge each time, but for the guests, it is an impressive experience.

The structure contains air tanks. These tanks are filled with air and lift the structure to the surface. Then, it is cleaned with high pressure equipment. After 3 to 4 hours, the cleaning is completed, and the structure is sunk back into the lake.

Mysterious, mystical, fantastic: this is the best way to describe early morning swimming in the heated lake pool. You will feel reborn: refreshed and invigorated. You can then enjoy a leisurely and delicious Schloss breakfast. Of course, a swim in the evening has its own special charm when the sun is reflected in the water and the scenery glistens in warm tones.

SCHLOSS GARDEN
With daffodils and primroses, the splendour of colour beings here in spring and ends in autumn with hydrangeas and dipladenias. In the meantime, you can see roses, rhododendrons, oleander, hibiscus, lavender, jasmine, chamomile, sunflowers, and many other colourful summer flowers.

From the boathouse on the west side to the lake sauna on the east side of the 3-hectare park, the blooms and aroma of the flowers are fantastic. Hedges, thuja trees, and hundreds of boxwoods line the garden paths. A leisurely stroll in the Schloss garden is nourishment for the senses.

A variety of trees offering shade on the Seefels beach adorn the sunbathing lawn and grassy areas in the Schloss garden on the Wörthersee. Two of these trees are especially impressive: the Canadian spruce on the north grounds of the hotel towers above everything with a height of 100 metres at the ripe old age of 70.

This proud, mighty, majestic tree stands out during the Advent and Christmas time among the lit fir trees in the Schloss garden. This atmosphere of winter romance by the glistening Wörthersee could not be more beautiful.

For almost 30 years, Aleksandar Popović has taken care of the 3-hectare Schloss garden. He knows all of its flowers, plants, trees, and shrubs. He talks to them, caresses the leaves, and looks at them and knows exactly what they need whether it be water, organic fertilizer, or a trim.

Just one look and he knows what to do. “The garden requires a quick response”, says Aleksandar Popović. Only with quick action was it possible one summer to keep the snout moths away from hundreds of box trees.

When the grass becomes long, it is mowed. When the hedges are high, they are cut but not at the Seefels, where guests value the garden as an oasis of quiet and “dolce farniente”. Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays are days of rest.

And even from Monday to Friday, the time window for garden work is short: from 10 am to 12 pm and from 5 to 7 pm. It appears as though the garden gnomes are at work, because time is short and the garden is big. When asked how he accomplishes everything, Aleksandar Popović’s response is: flexibility, experience, the right instinct, and 2 great colleagues.

Plants are like people. Each one is different, needs more or less water, more or less care, and more or less affection. Give plants what they need – nothing more and nothing less. Provide for strong roots – after all, a mountain peak is easier to climb with 2 strong legs.

Don’t use artificial fertilizer and chemical-synthetic sprays. Use organic fertilizer, nettle tea, and garlic. Aleksandar Popović keeps the snout moths away with garlic. Adjust your plan according to the weather and the plants. They will show you what to do. Do everything with love and joy. This is often the best, most efficient, and most environmentally-friendly fertilizer.

Everything has its place in the garden shed. Hanging to the left of the entrance are brooms, rakes, shovels, and spades. Then there are hoses, and below this are wellies and protective footwear. Stacked on the shelf are gardening gloves in every size and material.

To the right of the entrance are sacks of potting soil, organic fertilizer, and bark mulch. Mowers, wheelbarrows, and watering cans fill up the remainder of the shed. Riding mowers and leaf blowers are stored in the warehouse. This is also where you will find safety equipment such helmets, hearing protection, and protective eyewear, because safety comes first in the garden.

SAUNA
Located on the lake and built on the rock. This is how the Seefels (Seefels means “lake rock”) got its name, and this theme is displayed in the Seefels spa in an impressive way. The wellness area was built around the rock with style.
