Linked to Rome, Venice and Milan by high-speed train, Florence’s main train station is just around the corner, while the city’s Peretola airport is only twenty minutes away by taxi. For those who choose to drive to Florence, a rapid, reliable valet parking service is available.

We will take care of your bags while your car is securely stabled in our partner garage just 50 metres from the hotel. And we will also arrange the permit you need to drive into Florence’s centro storico restricted traffic zone.

THE HISTORY
Working in unison, owners the Babini family and General Manager Claudio Meli patiently created over the course of seventeen years a new model of Italian hospitality that was a source of inspiration for many, and spawned a host of imitators.

With its inimitably stylish design and intimate, cultured ambience, the Florence house-hotel they presided over attracted a loyal international and local following.

Today, the first chapter of this story comes to an end, and it’s one we’re proud and grateful to have been able to write. Without turning our back on past glories, we are together making a fresh start, one that intends to respond to new challenges and a new global travel mood by taking even greater care of the detail, the quality, and the bespoke curation of what we offer our family of friends and admirers around the world. From 2021, The Place is their new Home in Florence.

SANTA MARIA NOVELLA MASTER SUITE
The height of comfort and the peak of elegance is achieved in these spacious open-space Suites, which enjoy unparalleled views over Piazza Santa Maria Novella and its glorious Renaissance church.

Designed on an open plan and covering around 50 square meters (538 sq. ft.), our stylish Master Rooms spare no details in modern design while staying true to an exclusive, intimate Florentine style.

Textiles designed by Rubelli, including headboards and canopies inspired by the Piazza, meet antique wooden floors mounted in large tiles.

Fine, handcrafted leather writing desks underline a “sense of home” together with cozy fireplaces and discrete video screens mounted directly into the furnishings and controlled by state-of-the-art home automation systems. All in all lies the unmistakable style of The Place Firenze.

THE DUOMO ROOFTOP LOFT 
Located on the top floor, with breathtaking city views, this 40-metre-square (430 sq. ft.) accommodation is without doubt our most seductive room.

With its relaxing, luminous contemporary design and refined oak parquet floors, this split-level loft is a raft sailing on a sea of beauty. The entrance floor features a designer desk, wardrobe, double bed and large full-size wall mirror.

Upstairs, the large panoramic bathroom offers what must be one of the best bathtub views in the whole of Florence – plus a separate shower and double sink. A private altana balcony, overlooking Brunelleschi’s cathedral dome, is the ultimate romantic nest amidst the rooftops.

THE PANORAMIC LOFT
This comfortable, light-filled room of around 50 square meters (538 sq. ft.) is truly one of a kind. With its airily classic, vaguely retro design and refined light oak parquet floor, it is draped over two levels and enjoys a unique, front-row view of Piazza Santa Maria Novella and its namesake church.

The entrance floor features a living room with double sofa bed, a designer desk in pale leather and a bathroom with shower; the sleeping area upstairs, which can be made up either with a double bed or two single beds, gives onto another large bathroom with shower.

THE JUNIOR SUITE
With its striking neo-vintage design scheme, this 40-square-metre (430 sq. ft.) Duplex Junior Suite, located on the top floor of the house, spreads over two levels. It enjoys a panoramic view of the colonnade of Piazza Santa Maria Novella and the church of the same name.

The entrance level features a sitting room and relaxation area with a divan that converts into a French bed. The bedroom, on the upper duplex level, can be made up either with a double bed or twin beds; on the same level is the bathroom with walk-in shower.

THE SUPERIOR ROOM
Welcoming accommodations that perfectly reflect the refined style of the House, these rooms measure up to 25 square meters (269 sq. ft.) looking onto internal courtyards and terraces or the 17th-century atrium.

Each features a unique layout, refined wooden parquet or carpeted floors and elegant bathrooms. Both double bed and twin bed layouts are available.

DINING
Living Florence like a local starts at The Kitchen & The Bar. Your day begins with a leisurely al fresco breakfast in a glorious Renaissance piazza and might continue with a light lunch of good things from some of our favorite artisanal food producers, settle down to a cocktail with friends around the golden hour, segue into an intimate, romantic dinner for two. From 7.30am to 11.30pm, The Kitchen & The Bar never closes.
