ROOMS & SUITES
The fourteen rooms of La Foresteria Planeta, with views to the sea and over Menfi’s countryside, surrounded by an enchanting Mediterranean garden with swimming pool, take their names from the herbs you see when walking on the terraces.

ROSEMARY
Your memorable stay at la Foresteria will start with a glass of Planeta wine at sunset. Your terrace, the scent of herbs and a book to browse through. A beneficial start to your holiday. Rosemary, which gives its name to this superior room providing light and space, grows in the garden at the front. Aromas from herbs will accompany your reading during your peaceful moments.

OREGANO
To prolong the pleasure of your Sicilian lunch, give in to another temptation. Before an afternoon siesta, enjoy the pleasure of some company on the terrace of your room. The Oregano room provides a large and welcoming space and faces onto the garden that looks over the sea and the Sicilian countryside. Room service for both lunch and dinner is available to enjoy the dishes from our restaurant on your panoramic terrace.

LAVENDER
The sea in the background, an interweaving of scents, your family a sociable lunch with the irresistible simplicity of Sicilian flavours. The overwhelming sensation in this deluxe Room is that of great comfort and a pleasurable silence.

The spacious room faces onto the panoramic terraces and a garden of six different herbs, to which can be added the aroma of bread just out of the oven. You can order dishes from the kitchen and wine from the cellar directly from your room. Happiness is real when shared and with a view of the sea.

MINT
The clean air of Sicily, perfect for a bicycle trip or a refreshing swim. Energy and well-being. The ideal place to revive yourself. With an enchanting panoramic view, the Mint Room is near the fitness room and two pedal-turns from the cycle route. Being active in this area immersed in the Sicilian countryside will restore your energies to better confront the needs of your everyday life.

PEPPERMINT
The fresh afternoon breeze, the rustle of leaves after a dip in the pool… there is nothing like the present. Elegant, restrained, attention to detail. The great tiled kitchen is Chef Angelo Pumilia’s theatre where his delicious gastronomic creations originate. Tradition, technique, and authentic products all combine in producing a cuisine which enhances its links with Sicilian traditions.

Every detail is the result of careful attention; from the big white tablecloths to the wine glasses. The convivial table at the centre of the room is a hymn to friendship, to the family and to the beauty which one breathes at La Foresteria Planeta, a privilege apparent from the panoramic terrace with its tables in the shade of the wisteria and facing the view of vines and the sea.

THE CHEF
If he hadn’t become a chef Angelo Pumilia would probably have been a cartoonist. He loves manga, crunchy scabbardfish and Japanese cooking. His favourite dish is what one day he will make with a colatura of anchovies. The simplicity of his cooking is in continual dialogue with his inspiration and achieves perfection combining the flavours and colours of the wonderful surroundings of La Foresteria Planeta.

They say he is happy in Sicily, living between the fishermen at Sciacca and his stove; after travelling the world and working for some time at Moreno Cedroni’s restaurant in Senigallia, he has returned to his origins while offering unique dishes strongly rooted in tradition.

THE MENU
The menu is a journey of exploration created to accompany you along the tasting footpaths of this magical and luminous land. The landscape is the muse inspiring the cuisine of La Foresteria Planeta and its dishes are the tasting vision of the countryside and the Mediterranean sea.

We created it as a pleasant walk, along rocky paths through the vineyards and leading to the sea; the herbs in the garden, meat from the best local suppliers, typical cheeses from the area, the vegetables and fruit from local growers, and the fish caught that day.

To gain the most from your experience we created many gastronomical journeys for you. L’Uovo del Cavaliere, eggs with olive oil purèed potatoes, precedes the rich pasta of Ravioli with sheep’s milk ricotta and the fresh pungency of mint from the Planeta garden.

An encounter with the sea takes place with one of its oldest fishes, the Mediterranean spatola (scabbardfish), flavoured with herbs from our garden. And for dessert, cassata siciliana.

In four or eight dishes, a menu which follows the seasons and varies according to the freshness of materials, a virtue of La Foresteria cuisine. Trust our chef, who will delight and enchant you. Enhancing your experience will be the choice of wine, the host of every dish, exalting flavours and absolutely exclusive to every pairing.

THE WINE
Several of Planeta’s most representative wines originate from the vines surrounding La Foresteria, always in communication with the food and cuisine. White, red, rosé, sparkling or dessert wines are produced by Planeta, cultivated in five different territories, commencing at Menfi and exploring the great continent of Sicilian wine.

SICILY WINE TOUR
We have always combined our passion for Sicily with the desire to provide a warm welcome to those who wish to discover it. For this reason our wineries have never been entirely devoted to the production of wine but are also places for hospitality, closely linked to cooking, to nature and to culture.

We have planned the hospitality in our wineries at Menfi, Noto and Etna as a real collection of experiences according to each territory and each guest, connecting them to the uniqueness of every place, to the wines and to the beauty of the countryside.

COFFEE TEA ROOM
We have chosen to dedicate one of our rooms on the garden entirely to a moment of relaxation and discovery, starting from the unique way in which the passage of time is perceived here. Thus was born coffee – tea room in which to discover and taste our refined and dedicated selections.

The pleasure is to show you and offer you a multisensory experience, remodeling and enhancing an old space renovated by new collaborations. The starting point, as always, is the desire to focus on the excellence of our territory. The desire is to share the unmistakable atmosphere of the Planeta house with our guests, leaving you with an unexpected and pleasant moment of relaxation.

COOKING CLASS
The Planeta family opens the doors of La Foresteria’s kitchen to share the exhilarating experience of the new cooking classes. Themed lessons are planned in micro-units to reveal how the historic and the contemporary mingle in the kitchen with unexpected harmony. These little tasting adventures will be explored in a professional context and guided by Chef Angelo Pumilia.

THE BEACH OF MENFI
Would you like a swim in the clear sea at Porto Palo near Menfi? Our Beach is only five minutes driving from La Foresteria; surrounded by cool green pine trees it lies among golden sand dunes bathed by the crystal-clear sea and has been awarded a Bandiera Blue for over twenty years.

There you can read your book, have a massage, sipping a glass of Planeta wine and enjoying some of Chef Angelo Pumilia’s cooking which he has prepared for the occasion. Our Beach awaits you from June till September. Services reserved to our guests: sunbeds and umbrellas, beach towels, showers, solarium and relaxation area, snack bar and massages (on request).​

MASSAGES
At La Foresteria, you can ask for a massage at any time of the day, directly in your room or in our Beach club, while you are at the beach, to fully recharge your health and wellbeing during the holiday. You can choose between a Swedish massage, a relaxing massage with essential oils, a Californian massage or a head massage.

FITNESS & WELLNESS
An area devoted to sport and well-being; cycles, running machines and body machines for training purposes. For quieter moments there is a welcoming Turkish Bath with shower.

TREKKING & BIKING
Some marvellous footpaths wind through the perfumed hills surrounding La Foresteria Planeta. Breathe deeply in the clean air of Sicily, enter into the energy of the area to discover the hidden marvels of this region. Don’t miss the various available routes through the green countryside of Menfi, on foot or with our mountain bikes.

You will find the delightful cycle route just a few metres from the resort, built along the old railway line no longer in use, and used every year by thousands of cyclists. Enjoy a breathtaking panorama full of colours which continually change until they vanish into the boundless blue of the Mediterranean.

REFUGES
