Masseria Cimino Fasano

Masseria Cimino is a fortified farmhouse with tower dating back to the 18th century. The Masseria was built just meters from the sea, adjacent to the archeological site where the ruins of the Ancient Roman city of Egnatia, founded in the 6th century B.C., were discovered.

Masseria Cimino tells the Puglian stories through experiences based on the authenticity and the beauty of the local culture, wonderful tailor-made journeys to make guests live the region in a different way, through the eyes of local people. In collaboration with Indigenus.

THE HISTORY
In the 1700’s, blocks of stone originating from the perimeter wall of Egnatia were used in the construction of the farmhouse, on the walls of which markings dating back to the Ancient Roman period can still be clearly seen.

Masseria Cimino, surrounded by expanses of vegetable gardens and century old olive groves, stood at the center of an important agricultural estate, specialized in the cultivation and the preserving of fruit and vegetables.

Selection, pressing, packing, and storage were all carried out in the farm’s various outbuildings. Like great part of the Masseria in Puglia, part of the main farmhouse was used to lodge the workers and as occasional residence of the landowner.

In 2001, on the land surrounding the Masseria, the San Domenico Golf Club was built, with spectacular 18 hole professional golf course overlooking the sea. In 2005, Masseria Cimino was completely restored. Great care was taken to preserve the original architectural features, building materials, and colors of the old farmhouse.

THE ROOMS
The Masseria has 14 rooms, some of which are located in the ancient tower and others in the old farmhouse adjacent to the archaeological site, which has just recently been unearthed and which form part of the slave’ dwellings in the ancient city of Egnatia. The walls of this ancient city form part of the boundaries of this property.

STANDARD ROOM
The rooms have been furnished in a fresh Mediterranean style and are equipped with flat screen Tv, minibar, safe and all have individually controlled air conditioning and marble bathrooms. Some of the rooms have a beautiful fireplace and others have balconies with a little terrace overlooking the golf course and with a view of the nearby Adriatic sea.

SUITE MARE
Suite Mare is located on the ground floor and it is made of a double room and a living room. Both rooms have air conditioning, flat screen TV, mini bar, bathroom with shower. One has a little balcony overlooking the sea, the other has a little balcony looking the inner patio of the Masseria. The furniture is simple and the style is Mediterranean.

MASSARO SUITE
This lovely suite features a double bedroom, 2 toilets with shower, a charming sitting room with a fireplace and a private patio overlooking our San Domenico Golf Course. The suite is equipped with every modern convenience like air-conditioning, flat screen TV and mini bar.

SUITE DELLA TORRE
Suite della Torre is located on the first floor and it is made of a double room, a living room with fireplace, a bathroom with shower and a big private terrace with a scenic view of the sea. The suite is furnished in a fresh Mediterranean style and equipped with every modern convenience like air-conditioning, flat screen TV and mini bar.

SAN DOMENICO GOLF
Located not far from the rocky coastline of Savelletri, the Clubhouse of San Domenico Golf overlooks a landscape full of hidden wonders. The course is perfectly integrated in the natural Puglian context: enriched with olive trees of rare beauty and dotted with the colors and scents of the typical Mediterranean Maquis such as thyme, rosemary and sage.
