All rooms and suites are decorated in contemporary style, where simple Nordic design is combined with classical art and beautiful antiquities from the Far East.

THE HISTORY
The Nimb family and 100 years of gastronomic tradition in excellence. In 1909, in connection with the opening of the newly built Moorish-inspired palace in Tivoli, Nimb opened as a “Bazaar” with exhibitions of arts and crafts.

Tenants Vilhelm and Louise Nimb had established themselves as two of the city’s leading gastronomic contractors and had already taken over their first Tivoli restaurant in 1877, namely DIVAN 2 at Tivoli Lake, which quickly came to be popularly known as ’Nimb’s Terrasse’.

When DIVAN 2 once again became part of Nimb in 2011, the establishment changed its to name simply to Nimb Terrasse. The 1870s was a time of rapid development, also on the gastronomic front.

Modest Danish rye bread developed into open sandwiches, and DIVAN 2 was the first restaurant that introduced the open sandwich form. After opening in 1909, the Nimb restaurant rapidly established itself as a leading eatery.

Louise Nimb made sure that her daughters, Henriette and Serina, took an active part in the family business. Henriette was chef and Serina was matron and made sure that the house was in order.

In the 1920s, young partygoers became fast fixtures at Nimb, and in 1930 the Danish National Broadcasting Company made Nimb famous across the country with live broadcasts of contemporary dance music.

Our one-of-a-kind corner suite, sized 60 m², offers the best possible views of the open-air stage in Tivoli Gardens. Also the suite has two Bang and Olufsen flat-screen TVs and a spacious 180x200cm four-poster bed.

Intriguing Danish design features, classic and modern, are evident throughout this comfortable suite, ideal for any luxury traveller with a soft spot for unique boutique accommodation.

NIMB ROOF
Enjoy the exclusive roof terrace created for your enjoyment and relaxation. Jump in the emerald green pool and swim against the built-in tide. Rinse off in the outdoor shower or lounge away your time with a view of Copenhagen and Tivoli Gardens. Nimb Roof is open from 7.00-23.00 to hotel guests as well as to a select number of Nimb Club members.

Here, even the smallest shoot is treated with great passion. Restaurant Gemyse is open every day from 12 and offers a tasty vegetable-focused menu. Fru Nimb is a classic Danish open-face sandwich restaurant, lavishly topped with love; a love of good ingredients and a love of good experiences. Wherever possible, we use local produce, we always choose the best each season can offer with an authentic focus on organic fair. Fru Nimb is named after Louise Nimb, who was one of the great Copenhagen restaurateurs of the 1800s. In Tivoli Gardens, she and her husband, Vilhelm, managed the Divan 2 establishment. She was a masterly chef and published a very popular cookbook, Fru Nimbs Kogebog.

Above all, she was an excellent hostess who knew how to make everyone feel welcome, gentry and commoners alike. Everything Louise Nimb had learnt about the restaurant business she passed on to her daughters, Henriette and Serina, who were handed responsibility for Restaurant Nimb in 1909 when the establishment first opened.

A classic Danish pastry shop with an enchanting French twist. Tivoli’s pastry shop is a genuine wonderland for the sweet tooth, featuring a wide variety of delicate cakes and bubbling champagne.

The pastry chefs rise early every day to create the cakes in time for Tivoli’s opening. The showcase tempt all with everything from French macaroons to Danish cream cakes – and there is always a minimum of 12 different kinds of cakes to choose from.
