The Country House Hotel Poste del Chiugi is situated on the stretch of land between Umbria and Tuscany characterised by gently rolling hills. Panoramic views abound, from the muted hues of blue of Lake Trasimene to the intense greens and the ochre yellows of the Valdichiana, punctuated by well-known towns like Cortona and Montepulciano.

The old farmhouses have been restored to provide accommodation for tourists and feature rooms and apartments where the spirit of days gone by merges with a more modern image of refinement and elegance. There is a large sitting room suitable for sociable occasions. It has an open fireplace, satellite TV, an area for reading, card and board games and a space designed for wine tasting.

THE AGRIO’ RESTAURANT
The AGRIO’ restaurant was created during the restoration of the stone-walled former wine cellar and has rooms of different sizes, characterised by their wide brick arches and wooden-beamed ceilings. Outside, the terraces look out onto the Valdichiana. You can eat outside at any time in spring and summer, enjoying views of Montepulciano and Cortona.

WINE TASTING
On the borders between Umbria and Tuscany, in an area that has been devoted to viticulture since antiquity, lies the Fanini Wine Cellar. The reception complex is surrounded by vineyards belonging to the winery, in the atmosphere so typical of these old agricultural regions.

As far as the eye can reach, lines and lines of vines define the gently rolling hills that characterise this landscape, painting a different picture with every season, nature’s palette lending colours varying from green to purple, from red to yellow. Aromas, scents and senses: a journey of discovery of the flavours and features of this area, which boasts a prestigious tradition in winemaking.

Our guests may also visit the winemaking facilities, with brief explanations of the oenological machinery used and of the principles of food technology adopted by our winery in making its own wines.
