Perched on the edge of the Salcombe Estuary, with views out to sea, our hotel has a fabulous seafood restaurant, buzzy bar, rooftop terrace looking out onto the water, and a luxury spa with pool-side cabanas. It’s no wonder The Times named the hotel one of the coolest places to stay.

Consistently winning awards as one of the best seaside hotels in the UK, this spa hotel, with an unrivalled position on the water’s edge of Salcombe’s tranquil estuary, is a postcard-perfect seaside getaway. Salcombe Estuary and the harbour have been named an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

For foodies, the hotel’s excellent in-house restaurant is a casual, all-day seafood bar and grill, serving breakfast, lunch, dinner – and an ever-popular afternoon tea – in the restaurant and lounge or outside on the terrace, all with estuary views. Dishes showcase the region’s finest flavours, using local produce and seasonal ingredients.

For health and wellness seekers, the hotel’s spa has five treatment rooms, a heated indoor pool, a hot tub, sauna and fitness area. The spa has partnered with Temple Spa to offer their top-of-the-range treatments and products as well as developing their very own HarSPA treatment range. There is also a compact gym for those wanting a more energetic experience.

For those wanting to get out and about, there are local beaches, numerous great coastal walks and the quaint, boutique-filled streets of Salcombe town close by. The hotel has a map of the best local walks and beaches, and can provide, on request, a sumptuous picnic and complimentary bikes to take with you. The hotel can also arrange a wide selection of water-based activities on the estuary.

A short ferry ride across the estuary will take you to the popular market town of Kingsbridge. For those wanting to go further afield, the landscapes of Dartmoor National Park are just 30 mins away.

ROOMS & SUITES
Decked out in all things blue, oatmeal and white, our 50 rooms and suites are calming and restful spaces brimming full of nautical, seaside charm. Many have balconies that run the length of the room and look onto the water and sun-soaked beaches. Complete with slippers, blankets and binoculars, sit back, relax and watch the boats sail past whatever the weather.

ESTUARY VIEW SUITE
Our largest room, this dreamy suite features one double bedroom, a separate seating area and a balcony with seating offering panoramic views over the estuary.

ESTUARY GLIMPSE WITH JULIETTE BALCONY
These double rooms feature a Juliette Balcony with partial estuary views. Two of these room types have been made accessible for our disabled and less mobile guests. Some of these rooms are also dog-friendly.

DINING
A seafood bar & grill, with jaw-dropping panoramic views over Salcombe Estuary from the dining room and outdoor terrace. Whether dining inside or out, you’ll be guaranteed breath-taking views across the Salcombe Estuary.

Signature dishes (highly recommended) include the Harbour fish pie, a cod fillet topped with a crab and herb crumb, and large cut, aged steaks. From May onward, the chefs offer a fresh-caught seafood bar, where guests are able to select their own seafood prior to cooking.

AFTERNOON TEA
Afternoon Tea at Harbour is an indulgent and tasty treat. Featuring pretty pastries, homemade scones and delectable cakes, alongside fabulous finger sandwiches and savoury snacks. It’s the perfect accompaniment of a flute of fizz or a dangerously good cocktail or two! Served daily from 12.30pm until 4.30pm.

PRIVATE DINING
The hotel has no private dining room as such, but The Jetty restaurant has been designed to facilitate ‘private’ dining, seating groups of up to 20 in our restaurant with beautiful estuary views. Our passionate chefs have created a number of additional menu options exclusive to private diners.

You may create your own bespoke set menu, opt for one of our fixed-priced set menus, or choose our ever-popular ‘Bring me Food’ menu, with dishes delivered platter-style to the centre of the table for communal feasting. Private diners may also select from the restaurant’s a la carte menu.

SALCOMBE’S BEST WALKS
There’s nothing like a nice walk to get some fresh air, to see the local sights and scenery, to feel good about yourself afterwards, and to reduce your guilt when tucking into a Harbour Hotels afternoon cream tea.

Ask our reception team for a printed map showing the locations and descriptions of our favourite walks in the Salcombe area. On request, we can pack you a luxury picnic in an easy-to-carry backpack to eat along the way.

SALCOMBE’S BEST BEACHES
For those craving a day at the beach, Salcombe has a number of fine sandy beaches close by. We’ve created a PDF with the locations and descriptions of our favourite beaches in the local area. Ask our reception team to print one off for you.

We can lend you Harbour Hotels ‘Little luxuries’ for the beach: blankets, windbreaks, fold-up seats, kites to fly, and, of course, buckets and spades. On request, we’ll also pack you a luxury Harbour Hotels picnic to eat on the beach.

SAILING
Sometimes panoramic sea views are just not enough – you need to get out on the water itself. So why not spend head out on your own private yacht to sail around this beautiful stretch of Devon coastline?

You can of course just enjoy a sail, but take our recommendation and head to Dittisham, a wonderful spot for lunch at the top of the River Dart (approx. 4 hours sail from Salcombe).

Or for shorter trips, head to Elender Cove, a favoured cove to drop the anchor and tuck into an onboard picnic – this Cove is approximately half an hour sail from Salcombe. Ask Neil, your skipper, for recommendations based on the time you have available.

Food and drinks are not provided, but on request, we’ll pack you a Harbour Hotels luxury picnic to take with you – either a full size in a picnic basket or a half-size in a backpack.

A LESSON IN MAKING GIN
Learn the art of gin distilling – an authentic, local Devon tradition – at the excellent Salcombe Distillery & Gin School a 10-minute walk from the hotel. During your ‘gin lesson’, you’ll get to make your very own personalised bottle of 70cl gin in the laboratory, whilst learning about the traditional techniques.

At the end of the lesson, you’ll head to the distillery bar to sample your new gin with tonics and garnishes, whilst enjoying the view. If you don’t want to do the lesson, you can instead sign up for a tutored talk, tasting, and tour of the production facilities.

LOCAL PRODUCE TASTING TOUR
Especially for our foodie guests who want to sample the best food & drink the Salcombe and Devon region has to offer, we’ve put together a tasting tour.

We’ve created a PDF showing the locations and descriptions of our favourite local suppliers in the region, where you can go to sample the best locally-made cheeses, beers, wines, gin, ciders, chutneys, pies, jams and more. Ask our reception team to print one off for you.
