Built in 1964 by Earls Luigi and Niccolò Donà dalle Rose from Venice, Sporting hotel was born as a guesthouse with just 10 rooms to accommodate architects and artists who cooperate to build the village of Porto Rotondo and the tourist harbour of the same name.

With over 50 years of history behind it, Hotel Sporting represents, together with the other hotels of Costa Smeralda, the history of tourism in Sardinia and has contributed to create its international fame.

Famous people and prestigious ones of the International Jet Set have chosen it for its sobriety, discretion and confidentiality. Desired features by its founders and defended in its 50-year history by the Ciga Hotels group and then by the Molinas Group which acquired it, together with the Marina, in 1997.

Sporting hotel has been modernized and enlarged in full respect of the original architectural lines that integrate with the surrounding environment, becoming a 54-room Boutique Hotel.

LOCATION

THE RESTAURANT
The luxurious and characteristic environment of “Il Patio” restaurant of the Hotel Sporting in Porto Rotondo is the ideal setting for a supreme gourmet experience made of flavours and aromas wisely mixed by our chef: an exclusive interpretation of the Mediterranean tradition, characterized by harmonies, contrasts, and continuous aesthetic research.

The wine list, with the best vintages, includes more than 150 carefully selected national and international labels and includes a fined selection of sparkling wines and champagnes.

PIANO BAR
The elegant piano bar of the Sporting Hotel in Porto Rotondo offers its guests a dip in the timeless 60s, when the national and international jet set used to meet to spend unforgettable evenings. The spectacular sea view terrace is the ideal place to sip our aperitifs or enjoy a lunch with informal service.

The aperitif is served every day, from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm in a luxurious indoor-outdoor environment, where besides the great classics it is possible to sip excellent cocktails created by our barmen, followed by appetizing fingers food prepared by our chef.

From 8.00 pm to 01.00 am the piano bar offers hotel guests a unique atmosphere with live music and a selection of liqueurs and spirits, with labels for connoisseurs. Dress code after 7.30 pm: jacket and long trousers.

The meeting area, consisting of a meeting room able to accommodate up to a maximum of 120 people, can be adapted according to the needs. The equipment, technical assistance, availability and skilled staff create the necessary conditions for a successful meeting.

THE BEACH
Sporting beach for our guests use only with its cove of wonderful white sand and shallow turquoise waters is the ideal place for your moments of relaxation.

Umbrellas and sunbeds await guests to spend most of the day and an attentive and trained staff will be happy to satisfy every need by serving fresh cocktails or simple snacks directly on the beach. The Bar terrace overlooks the beach and it is the ideal place to spend a lunch break just a stone’s throw from the sunbed or have a drink finely prepared by our barmen.
