Rising in a quite and privileged position, Villa Corallium is like a diamond set in the dramatic coastline, in a scenario of incomparable beauty. The Villa offers a restaurant, bar and solarium facing an exclusive view of the sea, and an elevator from the parking to the reception and all the room floors.

Beach facilities and daily transport to and from Capri are just a few meters away from the Villa. Being in the middle of the Coast, land connections to Amalfi, Positano (both 7 kilometers away), Ravello and Sorrento are very practical.

THE HISTORY
Villa Corallium is the modern result of a brave vision of Francesco Milano. Born in Praiano, but soon orphan, he had to emigrate in Calabria looking for luck. In his several returns in Praiano, he fell in love and married Anna, a strong and marvellous woman, irreplaceable partner of life, that will always support Francesco dreams and work by his side.

After a few years, and the birth of the two sons, Sofia and Miro, Francesco, called “Franchino”, found his stability, but kept dreaming about coming back to Praiano. The chance came at the end of the Sixties, when a overhanging rock on the sea, was put on sale by a rich man from Positano.

With lots of effort against econimic and burocratic issues, he made is dream come true and the hotel he was trying to create finally saw the light, but he was very attentive in picking a glimpse of rock for him and his queen Anna (Ninetta) to keep, as a love oasis, where they could have lived forever.

After many many years, and after being a life time shelter, celebration place and heart-warming home for Franchino and Ninetta, this house has been given to the sons and nephews and has been turned in the Villa Corallium you can see today, to give the chance to many other couples, friends and families, to live in this little paradise a romantic moment, create a sweet memory or simply runaway from the everyday chaotic life that surrounds us all way too often.

We fell in love with the Amalfi Coast in this “castle” that now has been rearranged in six finely decorated rooms, all different from each other, to give to our guests several choices without giving up beauty, comfort, services, and especially the experience of the Milano family, that made its history and life-style revolve around the art of hospitality.

ROOMS & SUITES
The Milano Family villa has been turned in 6 modern yet classical style rooms of the Villa Corallium. Furnished with attention to detail and a promise: that guests will sleep peacefully here, lulled by the gentle sound of the waves lapping the shores below.

The deluxe room is the perfect choice if you are looking for a romantic experience. You will dive in the colours of the Amalfi Coast, walking on majolica floors from Vietri. You won’t stop staring at one the most spectacular landscapes in the world once you will be sitting on your terrace. FRANCHINO RESTAURANT
Who loves the taste, the scents and the colours of the dishes of the mediterranean cuisine, cannot miss the restaurant Franchino, maybe sipping on a fresh Italian aperitif before the meal, enjoying the marvellous panorama from the bar terrace. The Villa offers also a lift that connects the parking with the restaurant, the reception, the room floors and our solarium terrace overhanging the cliffs.

THE TERRACE
Each morning, smartly presented waiters swiftly yet silently prepare the terrace’s tables for lunch, and again in the afternoon, for dinner. This daily ritual means you may experience mesmerising Mediterranean specialities while enjoying the cool breeze from the same mountains, slopes and waters that, just days or hours earlier, surrendered their bounty for your meal.

THE VERANDA
Floor-to-ceiling windows let the light and the landscape into our restaurant, enhancing the exquisite presentation of pure, fresh ingredients on every plate.

After a morning on the beach, what could be more pleasant than a delicious lunch to be enjoyed here, in the sunshine or beneath a shady pergola, in the company of a loved one, and with breathtaking views of the sea of the Amalfi Coast. In the evening, as the sun sets, the terrace of the Franchino Restaurant transforms into one of the most romantic places in the world.

THE SWIMMING POOL 
The pool rises like a true oasis in the thousands terraces and coloured flower that characterize our little sea view paradise corner. Escape the summer heat and the crowd, and let yourself go to authentic moments of relax cuddled by water jets or a waterfall, surrounded only by tranquillity and the sky.

THE BEACH
Just 50 meters away from the Villa you can access beach facilities, also situated on the cliffs. Villa Corallium is very close to some of the most beautiful beaches in the Amalfi Coast area: on some of them is possible to find sunbeds and umbrellas, others are more wild and hidden in inlets where you can spend some moments of pure relax.

You will also find bar and restaurants built in the rocks, where you will be able to try a typical season dish or have a drink with your friends.

Franchino Restaurant specializes in home-made pastas and specialty fish dishes, along with a variety of other Italian culinary delights. All of our pastas and sauces are prepared daily with the freshest and finest ingredients for your dining pleasure.

Our fruits, lemons, tomatoes and spices are harvested from our family garden. We offer a fine selection of local wines and various beers to compliment your dinner. Please enjoy our home made lemoncello; a famous drink from the Amalfi Coast.

Apart from enjoying the sun and the sea, Villa Corallium offers an ample choice of other activities: Plan your sightseeing activities so you don’t miss any of the fun and exciting tourist attractions that Amalfi Coast has to offer. English guided tours with pick-up from the Villa are organized by local travel agencies who make available their professional services and guide assistance.

From the beach “La Praia” right below Villa Corallium they organize: Private boat trips with sailors during the day and the night, shuttles to the fascinating small beaches blessed by the sun, and also rental of rowboats, motorboats, canoes, pedal-boats, rafts and speedboats.

At your disposal the Villa Corallium staff is honored to offer you an assistance to make reservations for these excursions directly from the front desk. Thanks to its central location, Villa Corallium is the ideal departure point to visit the Amalfi Coast and its surroundings, by land or by water. Boat tours and water taxi services depart right from the beach of La Praia below the Villa.

The SITA and the Mobility Amalfi Coast bus stop is right on our parking, where also guided tours to Pompeii, Vesuvius, Herculeum and Paestum depart from. We are at your disposal to arrange private transfers to any destination.

EXCURSION TO CAPRI
Among all of the excursions that you could choose to enjoy while visiting the Amalfi Coast, Capri is the most beautiful, a dream which will repeat itself in your reality. After a tranquil breakfast enjoying the early morning sun from our terrace, you will board the ferry at the pier below the hotel.

This cruise operates every day with departure at 9.00 a.m. Soft drinks will be served on board. Once we reach the Faraglioni rocks, probably the most scenic place in Capri, the cruise will stop for a relaxing swim in the beautiful waters of the nearby Green Cave and White Cave.

We will also stop for a visit in the famous Blue Grotto. Arrival and disembarkation at the port of Marina Grande approx. 12.00 o’clock and free time for visiting the island until 4 o’clock.

EXCURSIONS TO POMPEII & VESUVIUS
Departure from the hotel by de-luxe motorcoach to Pompeii, the roman city buried by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 a.D. Visit to the archaeological site: With its excavated area, extending for approximately 44 ha, and the preservation state of its buildings, due to the particular burial (under a blanket of 6 meter of ash and rock) caused by the eruption of the Vesuvius in 79 AD, Pompeii can be considered the only archaelogical site which gives the real image of roman city. Free time for lunch.

Departure by bus to Mount Vesuvius up to 1000 meters, then, escorted by a specialized guide, walk to the summit. Mt. Vesuvius is the best known volcano on earth; it dominates the Bay of Naples with its characteristic cone.

EXCURSION TO HERCULANEUM & SORRENTO
Departure from the Hotel by GT Bus to Herculaneum, a residential town buried in ashes by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 a.D. Guided visit to the archaeological excavations. Herculaneum was destroyed along with Pompeii in 79 AD, and was rediscovered in 1709.

Il was e residential town without Pompeii’s commercial importance, surrounded by the villas of wealthy Romans. Departure to Sorrento, on arrival free time for optional lunch.

Visit of the city centre: In the lanes of the old city centre, still untouched in spite of the progress and mass tourism, have survived churches and ancient monasteries, keepers of valuable memories. Return to Amalfi Coast driving along the famous Amalfi Drive road, through the picturesque villages of Conca dei Marini, Furore and Praiano.

TREKKING & HIKING ON THE AMALFI COAST
For nature lovers and hikers you must not miss the pristine paths of the Amalfi Coast. The Lattari Mountains, up to Campanella Point, constitute a territory that is one of the most suggestive and celebrated of the world. It is an impressive show and imposing view of precipitous cliffs above the “pending waves”.

The area of the Lattari mountains provides a hike that can offer a unique vacation experience: the itinerary unwinds in the silence of the mountainous calm, with scenery of haunting panoramas, far from the coastal congestion and the ribbon of asphalt highways.

The trails run across places of incomparable beauty, rich with history and culture, and are not particularly difficult: Hikes can accommodate all levels, even those with a minimum of experience.

RAVELLO MUSIC FESTIVAL
Since 1953 in the gardens of the Villa Rufolo of Ravello where Wagner found his “magic garden of Klingsor”, takes place a prestigious Musical Festival, that starts in early April and goes on ‘til the middle of November.

The current Ravello Festival derives from a series of previous initiatives which make it the oldest of the Italian festivals after the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. Girolamo Bottiglieri and Paolo Caruso are to be attributed with the idea of the cultural event which, more than any other thing, has contributed towards building the identity of Ravello as a “Città della musica”.

Villa Corallium offers a special roundtrip shared transport in a comfortable Mercedes at the cost of Euro 80,00 per couple (instead of Euro 140,00).

THE AFRICANA NIGHT CLUB 
For those who want to spend a completely different and enjoyable evening, there is the Night Club “The Africana” the most famous nightclub on the Amalfi Coast. Two big caves overlap just above the sea, the big dance floor is covered with plates of glass where the underlying sea is seen along with the stalactites and the stalagmites that are illuminated with iridescent reflections.

Local fishers come in during the most frenzied peak of the dancing, and dredge a sinkhole in the edge of the dance floor with nets, pulling up bountiful catch of seafood for consumption in local restaurant. The contrast of new-age music which often arrives here by boat. The Africana, offers live music with orchestras and international shows.
