Villa Las Tronas is an enchanting 5-star hotel and symbol of Alghero, a delightful city on the north-west coast of Sardinia. It is situated at the sea on a promontory between Cala Lavatoio to the north and Cala Capone to the south.

A century-old park separates it from the seaside boulevard of the city. The name Las Tronas – which means “the pulpits” in the dialect of Alghero – derives from the form of some rock formations that surround the Villa, now greatly eroded by the sea.

It is a spectacular place, a refined residence where history and tradition create a unique atmosphere, an experience that sensitive souls perceive and love. This splendid villa at the seaside in Alghero is unique in Sardinia.

Built about 1880 by Alessandro, the third count of Sant’Elia, today it is one of the few private structures in Italy the walls of which meet the sea. The Villa was originally used as a hunting lodge and later, in the 1920s, was restructured according to the taste of the period, to vaguely resemble a medieval castle.

The Villa was the destination in Sardinia of high society of that period: the Romanov princesses and the royal family of Italy were regular guests, in the summer for sea bathing, in the winter for hunting.

Two sitting rooms, gift of the Romanovs to Don Luigi still cut a fine figure in the Pink Room on the ground floor. In 1961, the Villa became an exclusive hotel. Unique, permeated with the history and elegance of the personalities that have appreciated its atmosphere, it stands far above standards and comparisons.

Bordered on three sides by the crystalline waters of the bay, Villa Las Tronas with its Spa, set in the green of the park of almost two hectares that separates it from the seaside boulevard of the city, is an ideal location for anyone who wishes to refresh mind and body without foregoing social life.

The centre of Alghero, with its shops and restaurants, is just a few minutes walk away. The many piers of the Villa are inviting for sun and sea bathing in the most comfortable and private surroundings.

There are two sea water swimming pools: the outdoor pool with a breath-taking view of the gulf of Alghero and the indoor pool to pamper yourself during the winter both offer a relaxing experience at any time of the year.

ROOMS & SUITES
A total of 24 rooms and suites, some of which have terraces, overlook magnificent views of the park or the sea. All the rooms differ from one another in size, interior decoration and colours – just as each of us has unique tastes and passions.

Furniture, structures and pavements are original, thus conserving the distinction and elegance that characterise the Villa, offering a voyage back in time, a unique experience that defies standards and definitions.

The hotel offers all its guests an Italian breakfast: cappuccino or coffee with bread, butter or jam and possibly also Melba toasts, biscuits, hot chocolate, hot milk, latte macchiato, cereals, fresh fruit, muesli and yogurt .

EXECUTIVE SUITE ZEFIRO
Zefiro is the Executive Suite that represents the full significance of The Third. The two large rooms, elegant and ample, overlook the sea directly.

The spacious private terrace has a spectacular view of the Capo Caccia promontory and the gulf of Alghero, while the Jacuzzi pool is a perfect place to relax when you want and how you want. The Zefiro Executive Suite is available by special request only.

THE PANORAMIC RESTAURANT
A vegetarian gourmet restaurant, a healthy and ethical choice that does not renounce the enjoyment of flavours: Restaurant V offers all the richness of flavours of Sardinian cuisine in a vegetarian key, with a menu that follows the changing seasons, as tradition dictates.

We carefully select high quality local products which preserve the flavours of our land and promote the development of our territory, aiming to propose an alternative concept of cuisine: a new balance, healthy and genuine, in harmony with nature and all living beings.

For customers who want to explore a wider cooking, we offer the possibility to order fish-based dishes by reservation, to be agreed on the basis of availability and fresh local products. We do not elaborate meat dishes instead.

WELL-BEING
The Spa is an area dedicated to the relaxation, freedom and regeneration of adults, imbued with meditative silence and in which everyone avoids talking aloud and making noise. It includes a gym, massage area, sauna, Turkish bath and an indoor swimming pool.

The indoor pool is intended for relaxation. Since its sea water is heated and chlorinated, it is not possible to submerge your head underwater, dive, splash, play ball or swim as in ordinary swimming pools used for sports, or to bathe wearing metal ornaments, watches or jewellery.

In the Spa there is the possibility of encountering people who are completely undressed, and whose nakedness could offend the sensibility of the parents of any minors who might be present. Therefore, access to the Spa is usually not allowed to children under 16 years of age.

However, if the parents guarantee their own and their children’s compatibility with the above mentioned peculiarities (respect for other people’s right to nudity; abstention from making noise, submersion, diving, splashing, sport swimming, ball games, etc.) and provided that an accompanying adult is constantly present during their stay in the Spa, minors are welcome.

However, access to the area of the indoor pool cannot be granted, in any case, to children who have not yet acquired full sphincter control. Access to the Spa – and to the services provided therein – may entail additional charges in relation to the price of your stay, depending on the rate chosen and the method of booking.

THE TREATMENTS
Villa Las Tronas proposes treatments and products that invite you to care for yourself, with the pleasure of the senses. The products of Comfort Zone, a leading brand in the sector and a guarantee of quality and safety, are used. The product formulations have been certified by the FDA (U.S. Food & Drug Administration).

MEETINGS
A refined and elegant salon with original furnishings for exclusive and reserved meetings for up to 30 persons. For those who wish to dispose of the entire structure for private use, the “privacy supplement” is available and varies with the period of use; it is added to the price of the requested services.

BANQUETS
Villa Las Tronas offers the most romantic of settings for celebrations, parties, weddings and events. The refined environment, blended with the beauty of the surrounding landscape, is the perfect setting for an unforgettable event.

Banquets can be arranged in the Villa restaurant for up to 50 participants, or outdoors for a greater number. In the case of outdoor events, the cost of the necessary set-up will be added to the price of the menu.

From May to October, banquets for more than 30 persons can be scheduled only at mid-day; from November to April, in the evening as well.

For those who wish to dispose of the entire structure (hotel, restaurant, park and Spa) for private use, the “privacy supplement” is available and varies with the period of use; it is added to the price of the requested services.

It is filled with sea water, is not heated and is available during the summer months. During the winter months, the heated indoor pool of the Spa is available. It is also filled with sea water.
