Yasawa Island Resort Fiji

There are 15 words in the Fijian language meaning Heaven and ‘Yasawa’ is the first. Yasawa Island Resort and Spa is an exclusive all-inclusive resort on one of the most remote and unspoiled islands of Fiji. Just 18 luxury bungalows are hidden among the palms, each just a few steps from a pristine white beach.

Swim in crystal clear waters, explore any of our 10 private beaches, dive on vividly colored corals, connect with an ancient culture or indulge in Fiji’s first beachfront spa. Whatever you choose to do at Yasawa, you’ll do it in complete seclusion.

Yasawa Island Resort and Spa is inclusive of all gourmet meals & snacks, all non-alcoholic beverages, and complimentary wifi in all of our public spaces. Our inclusion of all standard activities (kayaks, stand up paddle boards, tennis, guided walks, catamaran, etc) plus all scheduled activities like Village Visits, half day Blue Lagoon Caves trips, guided snorkelling trips and private beach picnics make a stay at Yasawa incredible value and offers you a stress free way to enjoy your Fiji holiday.

THE HISTORY
The Yasawa Islands are famous for their beautiful white sand beaches and gorgeous weather. Located at the very top of the Yasawa Island group, Yasawa Island is in the sunniest and driest part of Fiji, enjoying tropical warmth and ideal ocean temperatures all year round, and the least amount of rainfall even in Fiji’s wetter months.

Yasawa Island Resort and Spa is the only resort or commercial development on an island that is 22 kilometres long. This affords us many luxuries… exclusivity, 11 private beaches for our guests’ use, a truly authentic culture, untouched snorkelling & diving, and the space to escape from the pressures of the ‘real world’.

AUTHENTIC CULTURE
Yasawa Island Resort & Spa shares a truly authentic culture with our guests. We are the only commercial development on an island that is 22 kilometres long; and our only neighbours are the beautiful inhabitants of the six villages of Yasawa Island.

What makes a visit to us special and unique is the opportunity to get to know our Yasawa Family; visit the local village; share some kava with the village elders; listen to the school children as they burst into song to welcome you; experience a traditional meke (Fijian singing and dancing); or enjoy the choir’s incredible voices on a Sunday, as you sit with your feet in the sand watching the sun sink into the Pacific. It is these moments that will stay with you long after you leave Yasawa’s sandy shores.

ROOMS & SUITES
Our 18 traditionally thatched, beachfront bures are understated in their luxury. Nestled among the palms, each air-conditioned bure has a discreet outdoor shower; an expansive deck with daybeds to wile away the afternoons; a separate living area with mini bar and iPod docking station; a hammock strung between the palms; incredible views of the ocean, and your own thatched cabana with sun loungers on the edge of Yasawa’s famous white sand beach.

Isn’t it time you gave yourselves the gift of Time? Time to relax. Time to exhale. Time to disconnect from devices and reconnect with the one you love. Time for yourself and time for each other.

Time for adventures or nothing at all. At Yasawa we pride ourselves in creating a space where you can do as much or as little as you want, but in a relaxed manner no matter what you choose to do. Come stay at Yasawa and enjoy Your Time.

HONEYMOON BURE
The name says it all – Lomalagi (Lo-ma-lang-ee), another Fijian word for Heaven. Hidden from the rest of the resort at the end of a deserted white beach, Lomalagi is a private retreat with its own horizon pool overlooking the ocean. This is Yasawa at its best – absolute luxury and complete seclusion.

TWO BEDROOM BURE
Perched on a rise overlooking the rest of the resort is the expansive Two Bedroom Bure. With two separate bedrooms either side of a large central living area, the two-bedroom bure is ideal for two couples travelling together or a family with older children (during family season only). Its elevated outdoor deck provides magnificent views over the island and out to sea.

DELUXE BEACHFRONT BURE
On an island as remote as this you can have all the space you want. Yasawa’s 10 Deluxe Bures are vast and free standing; offering ocean panoramas from inside and out. A split-level design creates separate living and sleeping areas inside, while broad decks, shaded day beds and private outdoor showers extend the living space outside.

BURE SUITE
At Yasawa there’s no such thing as a standard room. Our six Bure Suites set a luxurious benchmark with their modern styling, open plan and ocean views. Scattered in pairs among the palms, they share just one adjoining wall and are positioned for privacy – the only thing you’ll see and hear from inside is the ocean.

DINING
Your dining experiences at Yasawa will be extraordinary. Enjoy your meals in our al fresco restaurant with incredible views overlooking the pool, beach and ocean.

For additional time alone with the one you love, the possibilities are numerous… private dinners on the beach, room service, secluded beach picnics, or dinners poolside. Yasawa’s nightly tariff includes all gourmet meals and non-alcoholic beverages.

Our executive chef creates delicious menus daily featuring the freshest of our local and regional ingredients. Our village fisherman regularly deliver fresh fish, lobster and crab to the resort, which features prominently in our menus, but each menu has a variety of options to satisfy all palettes. Due to our remote location, most special dietary requests can be easily catered for with some advanced notice.

COOKING DEMONSTRATIONS
Yasawa Island Resort & Spa takes great care to ensure all guests enjoy their dining experience in Fiji. Our freshly caught seafood and local produce will be available for when you experience our local cooking demonstrations.

Cooking style is Fijian, featuring traditional South Pacific recipes using all local ingredients, herbs and spices and you’ll be able to return home and recreate your Fijian experience for your friends and family.

MANASA’S BAR
It’s a long way from Rome, but you’ll still be able to get your morning espresso! All non-alcoholic beverages are included in the tariff at Yasawa… from espresso coffees to fresh pressed tropical juices, mocktails, sodas and bottled water.

And for something a little stronger, Yasawa’s head barman, Manasa, is a deft hand with the cocktail shaker and maintains an impeccably stocked bar. Enjoy your favourite tropical cocktails with a 270 degree view from the expansive decks of the bar.

BEACH PICNICS
There are few places left in the world where you can enjoy an entire beach to yourself. Imagine just you and the love of your life escaping the busyness of your daily life in a tropical island paradise. Yasawa Island Resort & Spa is surrounded by 11 beautifully secluded beaches – voted #4 in the World by Expedia.

Choose from a selection of delicious picnic options, order a bottle of champagne and you are ready to be delivered to your beach. With names like Champagne Beach, Lovers’ Beach, Paradise Beach it will undoubtedly be an idyllic day. Private beach picnics are included in the tariff.

WEDDINGS IN FIJI
If you are thinking about or planning your elopement or destination wedding in Fiji! Let us eliminate the stress and help you plan your perfect day. Yasawa Island Resort and Spa is an intimate and unique tropical escape – voted as “Top 100 Best Resorts in the World” by Australian Traveller Magazine. It is a perfect spot for the Fiji wedding of your dreams!

Exchange your vows on the sands of a deserted beach, before a tropical sunset or under the southern stars. You needn’t decide until you get here. Elope or reserve the entire resort for your friends and loved ones.

Invite the choir from nearby Bukama Village, choose traditional decorations and tropical flowers or summon a guard of Fijian warriors. A Wedding or Vow Renewal at Yasawa Island Resort and Spa is yours to create – and we are here to make it as personal, unique or elaborate as you are.

SPA & WELLNESS
Yasawa is home to Fiji’s first beachfront spa, just metres from the ocean’s edge on a sweep of soft white sand. Our award-winning Baravi Spa has rejuvenated countless guests and honeymooners.

Baravi’s graceful make-up is complimented by a blend of traditional and contemporary design, with spa staff trained to benchmarked standards. Baravi Spa received recognition at the 2016 World Luxury Spa Awards and we’re proud to be able to offer our guests a premium spa experience.

The Baravi Spa draws its name from the Fijian word for beach and has been carefully constructed in a blend of traditional and contemporary styles, with an ocean-view massage deck perched over the sands in the open air, fanned by sea breezes.

ACTIVITIES
Yasawa Island Resort is an unspoiled tropical environment for you to explore. No matter how you choose to spend your days, we’d like to make them as relaxing as possible.

Ocean-based activities are our most popular, from a gentle dip in the clear blue waters to something more adventurous like scuba diving. You’ll love every minute of your time on Yasawa Island Resort. All activities except fishing and (open water) scuba diving are included in your daily tariff at Yasawa Island Resort.

BLUE LAGOON CAVES
One of Yasawa’s unique water based activities is an excursion to the Blue Lagoon Caves. Travel the picturesque length of Yasawa Island by boat with your fellow guests; skim over turquoise waters and past incredible cliffs and beaches.

Hidden beneath a dramatic volcanic peak at the southern end of Yasawa Island are the Blue Lagoon Caves, one of the settings for the 1980 movie starring Brooke Shields and Christopher Atkins. Visit this spectacular lagoon and swim within its hidden chambers, linked to the sea by underwater passages.

SCUBA DIVING
Yasawa Island is made up of rugged volcanic rock whose sheer cliffs fall into the sea creating the most amazing limestone coral formations and drops offs. The island is surrounded by uncharted reefs, submerged in turquoise and jade green seas. Our remote location gives us the enviable situation of having all of Yasawa’s incredible dive sites to ourselves.

The western side of the island (where the resort is located) is surrounded by magnificent, unspoiled coral reefs and offers a broad cross section of dive possibilities for all levels of divers. Some sites offer gentle current, others little or none.

Let the expertise of our dive team assist with dive site choices of the day, taking into consideration local sea conditions, tides, currents and your dive experience. For those wanting to try scuba diving for the first time, the resort offers complimentary PADI Discover Scuba Diving pool sessions and PADI Open Water Certification courses.

PRIVATE PICNICS
Yasawa Island Resort is surrounded by deserted beaches, ready of you to enjoy a specially prepared private beach picnic. Whether it’s an afternoon relaxing on the beach or a romantic getaway, our friendly staff will pack a delightful picnic for you to enjoy. Like all meals at Yasawa Island Resort, the private beach picnic is included in the all-inclusive tariff.

CULTURAL ACTIVITIES
On an island overlooked by the modern world, Yasawa offers an intimate and authentic cultural experience. With the permission of the chief, guests can visit the nearby village of Bukama where school children offer a welcome in song.

Or at the resort, guests might take part in a lovo (Fijian feast), witness an evening Meke (dance ceremony), or sense the full resonance of Fijian voices when the village choir pays a visit on Sunday evenings.

KAVA CEREMONY
It is difficult to market the cultural component of a visit to Yasawa, but undoubtedly it is these experiences that guests remark on the most. Fiji is famous for its kava, and here at Yasawa Island Resort & Spa you’ll be able to partake in a traditional Fijian kava ceremony.

You’ll love our resort, the beaches, and the food, but it is our local community and culture that touches you and leaves a lasting imprint on your heart, long after you have departed our sandy shores
