Carefully positioned at the beach within the grounds of Martinhal Sagres Family Resort, the 37 rooms, including two duplex Beach Suites, all have private balconies or terraces that afford impressive ocean views.

The architecture combines a natural simplicity with contemporary style to create a building that appears organic, as if born to Nature. Children and babies are completely welcome at Hotel Martinhal and Hotel guests have full access to all the other resort facilities.

There are 9 Terrace Rooms in the main hotel building, 26 Beach Rooms in the cuboid clusters right next to the main hotel building, 2 duplex Beach Suites and interconnected rooms for larger families, all of which enjoy spectacular sea view.

Beach Suite
Clad in natural timber and positioned overlooking the ocean, the Suites incorporate loft-style double height living spaces, with the open-plan bedroom situated on the mezzanine level. Outside, a private veranda has been carefully orientated to take advantage of the setting sun.

Floor space is deceptively generous, and the enormous floor-to-ceiling bay windows greatly enhance the sense of proportion. A private ground floor terrace extends on to a modest lawn.

Beach Room
Arranged in clusters of four close to the beach, the Beach Rooms are just a short walk from the main building. Positioned to take full advantage of an outstanding coastal panorama, these rooms are flat roofed and wrapped entirely in natural timber to blend effortlessly into the landscape.

Terrace Room
Situated within the main building and surrounded by private gardens. The architecture draws on the austere beauty of the unspoiled western Algarve, a design signature that’s effortlessly carried through to the living spaces.

Os Gambozinos
Located in the heart of the Resort, Os Gambozinos, is the perfect venue for the whole family. This Italian restaurant, opens for dinner from April to October, features a large selection of family daily specials to share, made with love.

The chefs prepare from the open kitchen a selection that includes handmade pizza, luxurious risottos, delicious carvery, homemade soups and pastas. For younger guests, a special children’s buffet and menu with all-time favorites.

O Terraço
With stunning views over the ocean and Martinhal beach, the restaurant is the perfect place to start your day. A full buffet breakfast is prepared every day to cater for all tastes with a kids’ corner to keep little ones entertained while parents can finish their cappuccinos in peace!

To dine at O Terraço is to experience a culinary journey through Portuguese gastronomy presented with a modern twist. Outside, a generous wooden deck terrace spills out to embrace the spectacular view – the picturesque Martinhal Bay. The perfect place to sip a glass of port overlooking the sea.

Stunning views over the ocean and beach
The As Dunas restaurant commands an enviable location overlooking the beach at Martinhal Beach Resort & Hotel and offers a tempting lunchtime menu, serves snacks during the afternoon and dinner in the evening.

The restaurant is renowned for its wide selection of fresh fish and seafood, cooked and presented in a typical Algarve fashion. Special ‘catch-of-the-day’ options are particularly popular.

A shaded outdoor terrace allows for meals al fresco – candlelight dining at its finest with the sound of the sea lapping at the shores. As Dunas is the ideal place for families with an extensive children’s menu, fenced-in sandy play area and trampoline for little ones.

M Bar
M Bar is our family Coffee Shop and Surf Bar. Featuring a stage for live entertainment, cosy sofas, an incredible 1970´s VW camper van booth and a dedicated kids bar with ipads and games area adjacent, there’s something for the whole family to enjoy.

Start the day with a creamy cappuccino, grab a light lunch, or try a delicious ice cream from our gelateria. After a day on the beach, head to M Bar for an amazing cocktail or mocktail freshly made with a various selection of fresh fruits.

M Bar offers a selection of Portuguese tap beers and cider, Portuguese wine and sparkling wine, and the widest range of spirits offered in the region.

Pool Hangout
A thirst-quenching selection of drinks, fresh fruit juices, and ice creams can be ordered at the bar. The Pool Hangout is a pool bar located a stone’s throw away from Martinhal Beach and is adjacent to As Dunas.

The Pool Hangout is located just above the beach and is sunk into a stylish wooden terrace. It overlooks the Beach Club Garden and is served by its own bar.

Village Pool – Ideal for Families
Two swimming pools grace the Village Square and are ideal for families. One generously sized pool spans indoors and outdoors. Adjacent is another smaller pool designed for toddlers. A juice and snack bar offers poolside service

Oasis Pool
Youngsters in particular are drawn to the Oasis Pool, an imaginatively designed beach entry free-form swimming pool that forms the centrepiece of the Garden Houses area

Club 98
Another generously sized pool forms part of Club 98, Martinhal’s tennis and sports centre, and is popular with teenaged guests. Also at Club 98 you will find a smaller sized pool ideal for toddlers

Vilas Mimosa
Martinhal’s fifth pool area is located at the entrance of the Resort. The 18m pool and adjacent baby pool are open during the summer months for the exclusive use of the Vilas Mimosa guests.

Tennis & Padel Tennis
Our leisure team will be happy to play with you or find you a tennis partner! Two tournament standard tennis courts and two glass-sided Padel tennis courts are located in Club 98.

Swimming Classes
Our swimming lessons have a duration of 30 min and are always held privately. This way, the instructor can focus fully on the strength and weaknesses of each child and manages to achieve a noteworthy success in a short period of time.

Teaching Breaststroke safe and fearless with the method of Freds Swim Academy. Swimming practice promotes benefits in any age group and is particularly recommended for children. The lessons allows children to acquire motor skills to be safe.

Guided Bike Tours
Our cycling guides are always ready to show you the beautiful natural region of the Southwestern Algarve. We have three scheduled weekly tours: a family tour, mountain bike ride and a roadbike tour. Also full day tours and private tours are available on request. Don’t hesitate to pass by the bike station.

Is a training methodology that is based on varied functional movements of high intensity. It is a set of movements that we practice every day, like running, sitting or picking up objects.

These movements are trained in sequence, exposing the athlete constantly to different types of training. “You start to train when you feel like stopping”

H.I.I.T. (High-intensity interval training)
This innovative form of aerobic exercise interweaves high-intensity exercises (such as sprint) with low intensity exercises (such as walking at a slow pace) or absolute rest. This style is derived from steady-rate (slow and steady) aerobic exercises that most people perform at a moderate intensity for 30 to 45 minutes.

Power Fit

Boavista – Just 20 minutes from Martinhal. This impressive 18 hole par 71 Championship golf course has been designed by Howard Swan.

Penina – Penina has three golf courses: The Sir Henry Cotton Championship 18 hole course, and two 9 hole courses – The Academy Course and the Resort Course.

Morgado – Laid out in a large 980 hectare estate through undulating small valleys. The main characteristic its large greens which place demand on good putting skills. Par: 73 – 18 holes. 45 minutes from Martinhal.

About Sagres
Martinhal Sagres is surrounded by one of the most picturesque natural parks in Portugal – Parque Natural do Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina.

It is the finest preserved stretch of European coastline, covering over 100 km, from Porto Covo in the Alentejo, to Burgau in the Algarve. The Park includes various unique species of animal and plant life, and is visited by many zoologists and botanists.

Praia da Cordoama
This is a very sandy beach, disappearing from sight both to the north and south. The highly shaped and progressively more hazy-looking cliffs provide a breathtaking view.

Praia da Ingrina
This is a lovely beach – it’s not very big but is a sheltered, sandy bay with rocks at either side and has a popular cafe – restaurant at one side looking right over the beach. It really is an idyllic spot and well worth visiting.

Praia do Beliche
This beach is sheltered from the northerly and westerly winds, nestling in the wide cove formed by the headlands of Ponta de Sagres and Cabo São Vicente.

Praia do Zavial
Praia do Zavial is the next bay along from Praia da Ingrina – just follow the road past Ingrina. It is another sheltered, sandy cove in between the cliffs and is very popular with surfers.

Lagos
Lagos is a municipality at the mouth of Bensafrim River and surround by a beautiful coastline. Melding a lively character with a cherished seafaring tradition, Lagos basks in its reputation as one of southern Portugal’s favorite holiday destinations.

The town has a young, cheerful vibe and a wealth of historic attractions and leisure amenities – facilities that include a modern marina, nearby zoo, and even a science center for kids.

By navigating Lagos’ old town visitors can also savor the hospitality of some excellent cafés and restaurants.
