Kayaking Experience
Kayaking experience in the beautiful evening summer light. When you embark in a sea kayak you practically sit on the surface of the sea and can navigate it using your own bodily strength.
The evening light makes the experience extra special and the light for photography is brilliant. You will appreciate Lofoten’s dramatic mountains from a wholly new perspective when you paddle up close to them. It is an experience almost as majestic as standing on top of them.
We use stable double kayaks on our trips. The combination of silence, raw nature on all sides and full freedom of motion makes sea kayaking one of our most popular adventures. You cannot get closer to nature than this.
Our guide meets you at our base in Svolvær harbor and provides the necessary instructions and adjusts your equipment for the trip.
The trip is tailored to suit those who wish to try out kayaking or who have little experience, but who also wish to learn about Lofoten’s history and culture from the coastline. The area we kayak from Svolvær harbor is calm and well-suited for beginners. No qualifications are necessary.
Sea Eagle Safari
A trip made for nature enthusiasts! You get the chance to meet sea eagles and experience some of the most scenic landscapes in Lofoten. The tour starts from the quayside in Svolvær, and will take you through Raftsundet before we enter Trollfjorden.
This is some of the most dramatic scenery that Norway has to offer and in an open boat you will get close to the elements. There is a large population of sea eagles in Raftsundet, and one of the highlights is without a doubt when a sea eagle circles a few meters above your head.
This is the eagle with the largest wingspan in the world, up to 2.65 meters. Our guides have expert training and will make sure that you have a comfortable experience.
This tour is a good option for families with kids over eight years of age. The duration of this trip is about two hours and we have daily departures through the year.
We do not recommend this trip for people with back problems or pregnancy. All participants must meet at our activity center 30 minutes before departure. Private tours are available on request all year.
Fishing Trip To Lofoten
Experience fishing in Lofoten on board our authentic fishing boat. Our professional crew will provide the best guidance on our 4 hour fishing trip from Svolvær.
Catch your own fish, soak up fresh sea air and enjoy yourself on board our authentic fishing boat MS Symra, a traditional 39-foot fishing cutter with a long history back to 1917. Our professional crew will provide the best guidance on our four-hour fishing trip from Svolvær.
During summer we catch fish like pollock, haddock, mackerel and coastal cod. The trip includes sea fishing with a line wheel and thermo suits are included.
The fishing location will vary depending on the season. There are 10 fishing stations on board, so our guests must expect to share these between them on the trip. But do not worry – we expect you will be very satisfied by the time we head back to port.
And the catch? We teach you to fillet it on board, and of course you can take it home with you if you wish. Other times and group outings can be arranged on request.
Snowshoeing
Snowshoeing is an easy way to get close to nature without too much hassle, and everyone can use them. Our experienced guide is ready to take you out on a guided 3 hour trip in his backyard.
Our aim is for you to enjoy intriguing stories during easy walks in our fantastic, silent nature. We guide you to the best views and photo spots. Don´t forget your camera!
Please arrive at our headquarters at the quay side in the harbour in Svolvær for the trip to start. Our guide welcomes you and fits you with the right snowshoes and poles before setting off in our minibus to today´s starting point close to Svolvær.
We don´t have to go far to find complete silence and wilderness. We decide the best route after reviewing today´s weather conditions. When there is no snow, we use crampons. You do not have to be fit to go on a trip with us, but interested in wildlife, nature and to get to know more about the Lofoten Islands.
Henningsvær
Our host will guide you through the picturesque landscape, typical for the Lofoten islands. Along the way we stop at historical sites, beaches and the mandatory photo stops that you cannot miss in Kabelvåg, Lyngvær, Hov and Henningsvær.
You can sit back and enjoy the scenery while we introduce you to the fishing culture and history, plus a taste of Lofoten. In the comfortable van you will be accompanied by a maximum of 6 other guests.
At Hov beach you are served coffee and the traditional lefse. Whether you choose to wander on your own to absorb the never-ending horizon or let the guide tell you stories about the way of life on the coast, we are sure you will enjoy.
After arriving at the charming islands of Henningsvær we will make a short fishing village walk and serve some local tastes of Lofoten before you are welcome to wander on your own. There are small handcraft shops, galleries and cafes that are worth visiting while here.
Northern Lights Photo Tours
Join us in the hunt for one of the most fantastic phenomena of nature – the Northern Lights. On this tour there are a maximum of 7 participants, which guarantees you an exclusive adventure with an experienced photographer.
The Lofoten Islands is situated right under the Northern Lights oval, which means there are good chances to experience the dazzling Lady Aurora while here. The Northern Lights can only be observed when it is dark and the sky is clear. If there are clouds we will do our best to search for a location with open sky.
The main season for the Northern Lights starts in September and ends in April. All Northern Lights activities are weather dependent, so we study satellite pictures and Northern Lights forecasts before we decide where to take you. If you bring kids we recommend book a private trip.
To get a good photo of the Northern Lights is complicated if you are not familiar with your camera. Our guide will offer tips for shutter speed, ISO and aperture. It is not possible to guarantee Northern Lights, but we do guarantee we will do our very best to find them.
In case of bad weather conditions the tour might be cancelled. If so you will get a full refund, or the possibility to rebook for another day. We will contact you one hour before departure if conditions are adverse. We advise all our guests to plan the trip early during their stay so you can change dates if necessary.
