The Albergo dell’Agenzia hotel in Pollenzo is the brainchild of Slow Food. Endowed with a charm all of its own, it’s the ideal place for anyone keen to indulge in the pleasures of the palate.

Housed in the same complex as the University of Gastronomic Sciences and the Wine Bank, it’s the fruit of painstaking restoration of the neo-Gothic buildings of King Carlo Alberto of Savoy’s royal estate.

Situated a few kilometers from Alba and Bra, between the Langhe and Roero hills, a UNESCO world heritage site, the hotel has a restaurant, a bar, a summer swimming pool, a private garage and meeting rooms that can seat from 30 to 200 people.

The Agenzia is surrounded by more than two hectares of parkland. Here guests can relax among the luxuriant rose beds, head out through the meadows, and stroll along the avenues.

The park was originally designed and laid out on behalf of the Savoy royal family by the famous German landscape gardener Xavier Kurten between 1834 and 1840.

Carlo Alberto’s commission to Kurten was to produce a garden in the English romantic style that would fit in with the neo-Gothic architecture of the overall complex.

Its range of prestigious facilities is rounded off by two hectares of parkland, while the Cherasco Golf Club is just a few minutes away.

Our Hotel is located in Pollenzo, in Piedmont, in the wonderful area of the Langhe and Roero, ancient seat of the agricultural centre of the House of Savoy. A project that is also a dream that we want our guests to live and discover.

We are part of a multidisciplinary hotel complex, home to the University of Gastronomic Sciences and the Wine Bank.

The entire architectural structure is the result of a valuable renovation that took place at the beginning of 2000: the walls that make up the Agenzia di Pollenzo date back to the Neo-gothic period and take us back in time, in an enchanting Savoy atmosphere.

ROOMS & SUITES
The rooms and suites are warm and welcoming, furnished with precious materials such as the prestigious furnishings, in elegant Frau leather. The terracotta-tiled floors, the wood of the coffered ceilings and the elegance of the marble coating of the bathrooms will allow you to live an exclusive stay in an exceptional location.

All the rooms are reachable through wide corridors that overlook the internal quadrilateral of the building and are equipped with all necessary comforts: air conditioning, Wi-Fi, flat screen TV with integrated Sky-TV, strongbox, direct dial telephone and minibar.

Our staff is ready to accommodate any requests for extra beds and cots, which can be arranged upon reservation. The rooms are all named after important wine “crus” of the prestigious Langhe and Roero area.

SUITE CANNUBI
It enjoys a beautiful view of the park and consists of a very large living area, furnished with fine antique furniture and Frau leather armchairs, as well as a romantic decorative fireplace; the sleeping area includes a spacious walk-in wardrobe and a king size bed.

A series of comforts and small luxuries makes the Cannubi suite ideal for a romantic weekend. There are two bathrooms with marble finishes, of which one with a Jacuzzi, the two flat screen televisions with integrated Sky-TV, free wi-fi and minibar.

Breakfast is included in the price of the room, a refined selection of delicacies prepared in our kitchen with Slow Food Presidia products. Room service is available on request.

DELUXE HOLIDAY
Our Deluxe rooms will welcome you in an intimate and refined atmosphere of about 35 square meters, embellished with antiques, a decorative fireplace and Frau armchairs beautifully positioned along the perimeter of the room.

Each room has a marble-coated bathroom with a bathtub and shower, and a queen size bed. The offer is completed with air conditioning, free Wi-Fi and a mini bar.

In some Deluxe rooms a lovely wooden staircase connects the living room to the loft sleeping area; in both spaces, among other accessories, there are flat screen TVs with Sky included.

SUPERIOR ROOMS
The Superior rooms are designed to welcome you in a warm and familiar atmosphere, offering you a relaxing space of about 25 square meters to fully enjoy your stay between Langhe and Roero.

They are characterized by terracotta-tiled floors, coffered wooden ceilings, a queen size bed, Frau leather furnishings and a marble-coated bathroom with bathtub and shower – all Superior rooms combine ancient charm with modern hotel amenities.

On the walls, lithographs, prints and photographs tell the story of our territory. Some of the rooms located on the second floor have attic ceilings and a small balcony, which will allow you to discover every hidden beauty and detail.

FAMILY ROOMS
We pay special attention to the families staying at our facility. To them are dedicated the adjoining rooms of Superior category, which allow you to enjoy large spaces while still maintaining a certain privacy. If the space allows it, our staff can add a cot for children under the age of three for no additional cost.

The rooms can be reached through wide corridors that overlook the internal quadrilateral building of the Agenzia. The rooms designed for families have terracotta-tiled floor, wooden coffered ceilings, Frau leather furniture; two queen size beds and two bathrooms, finished in marble, with bath and shower.

THE RESTAURANT
Its large windows overlook the park of the Agency, dotted with important historical archaeological finds. When the sky is clear, from here you can admire in the background the Alps dominated by the “Stone King”, the Monviso mountain.

The menu is based on the traditional local dishes of Langhe, but also includes fish dishes and revisited recipes. Local products and Slow Food Presidia guarantee an essential cuisine of great quality. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner.

Comfortably seated at the tables of the Garden restaurant overlooking the great park of the Agenzia you will enjoy the main dishes of the now legendary tradition of Langhe (handmade “Tajarin” pasta, “ravioli del plin” pasta, veal with tuna sauce, braised beef) but also seafood dishes with fresh fish and in autumn the white truffle of Alba.

These dishes can be paired with the great wines of the area: Arneis, Nebbiolo, Roero, Barolo, Barbaresco, Barbera, Pelaverga, Dolcetto and the less known Nascetta, from top producers selected by the Wine Bank.

Piedmont is one of the best-known Italian regional cuisines in the world and all of us who work at the Albergo dell’Agenzia like to think that we have collected and interpreted, according to the precepts of the Slow Food philosophy, this important cultural heritage.

Natural ingredients, products from the Slow Food Presidia, a daily supply of fresh raw materials from several markets and local producers allow our customers to enjoy gastronomic experiences of the highest level.

The restaurant, thanks to the air-conditioned dining room with large windows, allows our guests to taste our dishes before the relaxing green of the meadows and the flowers of the park all year round. A refined selection of over 300 wines from the adjacent Wine Bank completes our offer.

From romantic dinners to Sunday lunches with the family, the Garden Restaurant can be booked both by the guests of the Hotel and by those who want to stop by for a brief and delicious refreshment.

The sharing of important experiences and great enjoyment creates a formidable “glue“ for the building of work groups and motivating professionals to work together elbow to elbow. Food and wine are a synonym of conviviality, pleasure and aggregation and provide the ideal context for team-building activities.

The modern rooms of the Cookery School, the 19th-century cellars of the Wine Bank and the Sensory Analysis Laboratory will provide the setting for games and challenges in which the closest-knit team will be crowned the winners.

Five meeting rooms are available, as are 70 rooms and suites with access to the swimming pool, the wellness area and all the Albergo’s services and facilities.

SLOW BEAUTY
After a day of work or pleasant itineraries in the beautiful hills of Langhe and Roero, in our hotel you can enjoy a moment of relax. Access to the outdoor swimming pool, the gym and the wellness area with an emotional shower, Jacuzzi and steam bath is included in the cost of your stay.

A hydromassage tub with a view over the park, a sauna and a plain brick Turkish bath allow guests to relax mind and body after a busy day of work or a pleasure trip up into the splendid Langhe and Roero hills.

SLOW FOOD 
Just eight years after founding Slow Food, Carlo Petrini felt a strong need to develop a large, prestigious hub of food and wine culture, which he interprets innovatively as a science.

He imagined the place as the cultural powerhouse of a new “eno-gastronomy” based on the quality of food and wine, respectful of biodiversity and the environment, careful to erase any form of workplace exploitation.

Hence the seven-year rescue operation on the wonderful neo-Gothic complex of the Agenzia, a huge space where Albergo dell’Agenzia, University of Gastronomic Sciences, Academic Tables and Wine Bank live side by side in a state of synergy.

GOLF
The Albergo dell’Agenzia is happily located in a land that offers lot of opportunities to play golf: Golf Lovers can reach in few minutes the Cherasco Golf Club, surrounded by the beautiful Langhe hills. Our Hotel offers convenient “all included” packets to satisfy every Golf player need.

THE CHERASCO GOLF CLUB
The prestigious Cherasco Golf Club – a beautiful 18 hole course designed by the architect Marco Croze – is situated near the Hotel “ell’Agenzia” at the feet of the spectacular mountain Monviso and in the heart of the Langhe.

The golf course is laid out on rolling land where one finds a grand variety of trees, including maple, hornbeam, beech, oak and pine. Several small lakes and streams add to the charm and pleasure of the round for both professional and amateur golfers.
