Savona 18 Suites Milan

Savona 18 Suites is carved from an ancient Milan-style house by a project from the famous designer Aldo Cibic, and it has established as one of the most interesting properties in the via Tortona and Navigli area of Milan.

The hotel features 42 rooms (different in furnishings, sizes and spaces), a nice breakfast area, the Petit Café, and a charming outdoor court, nice and elegant – even suitable for events. Furnishings and items by Aldo Cibic can be found and bought throughout the whole hotel.

Savona 18 Suites, housed in a typical Milanese railing house, with over a century of life behind, the object of an interesting renovation by the designer Aldo Cibic, based on the preservation of the architectural image of the historic building, that is a typical example of a Milanese court representative of the “style” of the Milanese residential courts, typical of the early twentieth century.

THE CONCEPT
A perfect balance between the retro structure, expertly recovered without distorting it and the contemporary furnishings and décor. A large house with a minimalist concept located in the Navigli area of Milan, a few steps from Via Tortona:

“Savona 18 I lived as a big house, an intimate and welcoming place in the center of the fashion and design district of Milan. The lobby is a cozy living room, with lots of different fruits that stand together; at the entrance the counter, reminiscent of an out-of-scale Tibetan furniture, the yellow tile bench, along with the graphics of the walls, in contrast to the neutral tones of the room, create an effect of warm minimalism. In the courtyard, one lives the profoundly Milanese experience of living in a railing house, while the mural is the citation of an incomplete, poetic skyline in its soft colours.”

ALDO CIBIC
Aldo Cibic was born in Schio (VI) in 1955 and is approaching the world of self-taught design. In 1977 he became a member of Sottsass Associati, and in 1981 he was one of the founders of Memphis. An innovator by vocation, far from gender labels and stylistic constraints, Cibic immediately adopts “experimentation as a practice”.

At the end of the eighties he founded the studio Cibic and in 1991 he launched “Standard”, his first self-produced collection. Projects such as “The Solid Side” (1995) and “New Stories New Design” (2002) encourage a dynamic relationship between man and space and propose an original way of designing places with respect to social dynamics.

With the same vocation “Microrealities” (2004) and “Rethinking Happiness” (2010). In 1989 he founded the studio Cibic & Partners; in 2010 he started the Cibicworkshop. Aldo Cibic teaches at the Politecnico di Milano, the IUAV of Venice and the Domus Academy, and is an honorary professor at Tongji University in Shanghai.

SUITE SAVONA VIEW
The refined Savona View Suite with a large area of 48 square meters are composed of double room: a double bedroom with king size bed and a large living area. They boast a fantastic view of the famous and cosmopolitan via Savona.

In all rooms guests can enjoy free hot drinks, making use of tea and herbal teas and a Nespresso coffee machine Guests also have access to a wide variety of sweet and savoury snacks and a minibar.

SUITE STUDIO
The Suites Studio , of 40 square meters, are composed of double room between double bedroom and living area with work table, which make them ideal for small business meetings; they overlook the charming inner courtyard.

At guests’ disposal free of charge: tea and herbal tea making facilities and Nespresso coffee machine. Guests can also enjoy a wide range of snacks and use the minibar service.

QUEEN ROOM
Our Queen Rooms, elegant and functional, 30 square meters, have a single large room and are equipped with a king size bed. They have a Nespresso coffee machine that guests can use for free. You can also enjoy appetizing snacks and use the minibar service.

HOME SUITE
The comfortable Home Suites, 30 square meters, are composed of double room, equipped with double bed or twin and living area with sofa bed and table/ desk, overlooking the scenic private courtyard of the hotel.

At guests’ disposal free of charge: kettle for tea and herbal teas, Nespresso coffee machine. Guests can also enjoy a wide range of snacks and use the minibar.

COMFORT ROOM
Our Comfort Rooms are characterized by a bright single room of 20 square meters, equipped with double bed and large bathroom. In all rooms guests can enjoy free coffee, using the Nespresso coffee machine. Guests can also enjoy a selection of sweet and savoury snacks and a minibar service.

MEETING ROOM
The hotel has a modern and bright event space with natural light, overlooking the large internal courtyard of the hotel, suitable for meetings, meetings, workshops and showcases. It can be set up for 25 people and a board room for 8 people.

OUTDOOR AREA
The spectacular inner courtyard of the structure is the ideal location to organize events of various nature in a suggestive and design context, characterized by a mural by Aldo Cibic, which sofas and armchairs have transformed into a large open air living room.

The space boasts a large surface area of 310 square meters, which serves as a perfect setting for events related to design or cultural, fashion shows, presentations, press days and corporate aperitifs.

PETIT CAFÉ
At the elegant Petit Café guests can enjoy a pleasant break while enjoying the Italian breakfast (cakes, a wide choice of croissants, fruit juices, bread, jams, yogurt, cereals…), the delicious dishes of our small à la carte menu, but also a wide range of cocktails and aperitifs, relaxing in the cozy lounge area that continues outside in a courtyard with a contemporary style: an oasis of tranquillity perfect for a lunch break, an aperitif, or a dinner to be enjoyed overlooking the go-ahead of one of the most lively and lively areas of the city.

Made with fine designer furnishings, the Petit Café combines colours and elegance pervaded by a relaxing atmosphere representing the perfect meeting place for cosmopolitan clientele visiting Milan. Also open to the outside. Opening hours: from 07.00 to 22.00 for hotel guests and from 07.30 to 22.00 for external guests.
