Our Hotel is located in Engadin, in Samnaun Dorf on the Swiss side of the border-triangle Switzerland-Italy-Austria at an altitude of 1850m above sea level.

The design of our hotel captures alpine traditions; warm wood, the majority coming from the domestic Arve (pine), gives your room a sense of comfort. In the cosy Arven-Stube in our “Bünder Stube” restaurant, we spoil you with specialties from Engadin and Grisons.

Cultural variety is of great importance in the ZEGG-restaurants. Premium quality ingredients and creative cooking ensure delight of the highest level. Local products are favoured and our menu is tailored to the seasons. Our wine card consists of 200 different positions.

The Silvretta Spa is a source of relaxation and wellbeing. An underground tunnel connects the hotel’s 900 m2 wellness area to the partner hotel Chasa Montana, and together they offer an exceptional range of baths, cosmetic and therapeutic massages including a Roman indoor pool with a water fall and underwater massages, as well as a newly constructed fitness-area.

In summer, 250 km of hiking routes as well as 80 km of mountain bike routes bring you unique landscapes, flowering meadows, quiet mountain lakes and peaks with a sweeping panoramic view. In winter, a superb skiing area with 238 km of slopes and 45 excellent lift facilities in the Silvretta Arena Samnaun/Ischgl awaits you.

We offer continuous training to our staff so you enjoy excellent advice and service despite your allergies. Here you’ll find a description of celiac disease and lactose intolerance with suitable and unsuitable products.

Celiac disease
Celiac disease is an intolerance to gluten (elastic protein substance). In case of genetic predisposition, gluten damages the mucous membrane of the small intestine.

This damage leads to a reduction of intestinal villi, which again reduces the surface of the intestine resulting in a chronic inflammation of the small intestine. The effects can differ from person to person.

Mostly, the symptoms are nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach pains, and due to the reduced uptake of nutrients also fatigue and weight loss, as well as anemia and bone atrophy.

In children, celiac disease can also result in growth disturbances. Unlike with lactose intolerance, there is no tolerance threshold for people suffering from celiac disease, which requires strictly gluten-free nutrition!

Alpine Spa
Characterized by the power of the Alps, Silvretta Spa invites you to enjoy a day of pure relaxation. For calming both the inside and the outside of your body, the 900 m2 Silvretta Spa offers a soothing ice fountain and various showers, a tea bar and its popular fountain with its refreshing Grander water.

Three treatment cabins and a stylish Asian room with Hamam bed, whirlpool, steam room and resting area are available for spa rituals and beauty treatments. In this way you can, for example, allow a soap brush massage or Ayurvedic oil massage to thoroughly cleanse your body.

Since the Chasa Montana Hotel & Spa and the Chalet Silvretta Hotel & Spa have been united, you can benefit from a never-see-before Spa offer.

The Roman indoor pool with Jacuzzi, pool bar and relaxation room in Chasa Montana Hotel & Spa is easy to access by an underground passage and continuously open from 7am until 9pm.

The Pool area
Alpenquell Erlebnisbad with sauna area free of charge for guests of Chalet Silvretta from 20 March 2022. As the indoor swimming pool and the fitness center in the Chasa Montana will also not be accessible for the time of the renovation (summer/autumn 2022), we will organize a free shuttle service for you to the Alpenquell Erlebnisbad, which is 5 minutes away.

The entrance to the adventure pool with sauna area is also free of charge for you during this time. Just bring your Samnaun guest card, which identifies you as a guest of the Silvretta Hotel & Spa****.

The Silvretta Spa (900m2) is of course still available to our Silvretta guests. The Alpenquell adventure pool is closed from May 1 to June 16, 2022 – during this time you can enjoy the Silvretta Spa and benefit either from a 10% discount starting from 1 night or even from a free night starting from 4 nights (4=3).

Harmony, quietness, relaxation, nature…
A harmony of colours, light, air, heat and space can be experienced. You achieve a state of wellbeing that recovers both the body and the soul. The 28°C water ensures pure relaxation.

The Roman indoor pool with whirlpool, pool bar and relaxation room in Chasa Montana Hotel & Spa is easy to access by an underground passage and continuously open from 07:00 until 21:00.

Earth Sauna
The Earth Sauna is a Finnish outdoor sauna and the most popular form of sauna. The session is based on a recurring change of heating the body up and cooling it down again. Saunas in general improve the immune system, cleanse and detoxify the body, support the respiratory tract and strengthen the cardiovascular system.

Sauna sessions are not recommended in case of circulatory problems, a tendency for thrombosis, extremely low or high blood pressure, in case of acute infections or acute rheumatism. Sauna session: approx. 10-15 minutes

Laconium
Laconium refers to a dry form of sauna, the temperature lies close to 55°C. In a short period of time, the body is heated to such a high temperature that it will be optimally detoxified due to intense sweating.

This stimulates the blood circulation, accelerates the removal of metabolic waste and mobilises the body’s own defences. The regular sweating in the Laconium helps reduce stress sustainably as well. The heart activity is stimulated and the blood pressure is regulated.

The result is a feeling of freshness and deeper mental and physical relaxation. The length of your stay in the Laconium is determined according to your own well-being, the purifying effect start already after 15-20 minutes.

Mountain Crystal Cave
The Mountain Crystal Cave offers you an exceptional experience. Feel the crystals’ pure power and discover a mental and physical relaxation. This special stem bath from “Arabian Nights” is heated to 55°C. The mountain crystal reaches multiple organs due to its strong yet at the same time gentle vibrations.

It positively affects the whole circulatory system in particular. This effect is intensified by the connection to the steam bath, its pleasant radiant heat and the natural aromas, which are absorbed by the steam.

Salt Cave
In the salt cave, very fine dissolved sea salt brine is vaporized at your fingertips. Adding pure essential eucalyptus and mint extracts obtains an additional cleaning and care effect of the entire respiratory system.

The special brine and steam technology in combination with the radiant heat of the system elevates partial pressure. The bio climate corresponds with a stay at the sea. This health oasis is a boon for your lungs, a fountain of youth for your bronchi, especially for smokers or people living in a polluted environment.

You should stay 15-20 minutes in the salt Inhalation cave. The inhalation (press the button and keep your nose above the salt wells) may be repeated in 3-5 minutes intervals.

Herbal bath
The stimulating effect of the herbs on the human body keeps on gaining support in the modern world. The herbal extracts injected into the room by mild inhalation stem, will vitalize your body.

The radiant heat, which has been our concept of health and well-being ever since the Roman baths, creates in addition the conditions for a perfect bathing experience. An herbal bath should take about 20-30 minutes.

Infrared cabin
The infrared rays are absorbed by the skin and transported to the inside of the body. The skin warms up from inside (deep heat) and the body can sweat without straining circulation. This deep heat results in a very good cleansing and detoxification effect.

Furthermore, a positive effect on skin, joints and digestion is achieved. Muscle tensions are loosened and the sauna is gentle on the veins. Duration: approx. 10-20 minutes

Since 27th October 2017, our Chalet Silvretta Hotel & Spa has been shining in new splendor. The Silvretta Spa now has an Alpine Silent Room for those seeking peace and quiet.

Silvretta Skiarena Samnaun/Ischgl
Samnaun is part of the unique Silvretta Arena Samnaun / Ischgl, the largest ski arena in the Eastern Alps, which means unlimited skiing on 238km of slopes. And thanks to the high location and the good snow facilities guarantee snow safety from the end of November to the beginning of May.

The Samnaun Valley is the lowest side valley of the Engadine and the border valley to Tyrol. The five villages Compatsch, Laret, Plan, Ravaisch and Samnaun village are nestled in a magnificent mountain landscape at a height of 1’700 to 1’840 meters.

In Samnaun, you will not only be in the only duty-free oasis in Switzerland, but also in a unique mountain world. Samnaun village is the tourist capital of the Samnaun Valley.

The village is home to Europe’s highest shopping centre at 1’840 m. The Piz Ot (2’759 m), which seems to protect the Samnaun village, towers majestically over Samnaun.

Hiking
Breath-taking & quiet – experience the endless panorama in the Samnaun mountain world. Enjoy the varied nature on the south-eastern side of Samnaun with unspoiled trails, unique flora and fauna, and quiet places to relax.

Bike Paradise Samnaun
Be it over single trails, flow trails or extended bike tours: as a guest of the Silvretta Hotel & Spa in Samnaun you’ve found the perfect starting point for discovering the Silvretta Bikearena Samnaun/Ischgl and the Engadin region.

The infrastructure for bike tours through the Silvretta Arena Samnaun/Ischgl on both sides, Samnaun and Ischgl, has been highly extended over the past few years, and meanwhile covers more than 80 km.

Especially the downhill highlights flow trail Alp Trida Sattel – Alp Trida and the endure trail Vider Pass – Alp Trida make the hearts of cyclists beat faster.

Thanks to the Tourist Tax, the use of the Samnaun/Ischgl cable cars is free, and you can enjoy the unique panoramic landscape and thrilling downhill routes from the highest point in the Silvretta Arena with your mountain-bike.

The professional and perfectly trained staff of the bike rental stores in Samnaun make sure you will enjoy your cycling holiday. The Samnaun Tourist Board offers a weekly freeride tour with technique tips.

On the mountain you’ll get an introduction and technical tips for handling your bike. On the freeride trail to Samnaun-Laret you can then apply the theory. Unlimited mountain-bike fun in the Silvretta Arena Samnaun-Ischgl with the unique single trail network for all skill levels.

Spectacular single trails, kilometres of Enduro trails, summit experiences up to almost 3,000 m above sea level, quiet alpine lakes, and beautiful forest trails. All this and much more can be experienced in the striking, border-crossing bike region Samnaun-Ischgl.

Samnaun highlight: Free transport for all mountain-bikers (incl. Bike) on all cable cars in Samnaun and Ischgl. Enjoy the wide selection. Be it the shorter trail from Alp Trida Sattel to Alp Trida or the longer tour from Samnaun Dorf to Heidelberger Hütte and back.

Be it downhill, extended mountain-bike tours or comfortable family routes – the Bike Arena Samnaun-Ischgl offers an individual biking experience for everyone.

Again this year, the event of superlatives will be organised: Ironbike Samnaun-Ischgl-Samnaun. The approx.. 45 km long classic in the opposite direction, which is a challenge for all participants.

The entire Silvretta Arena is crossed: ascent from Samnaun (1844 asl) to Zeblas Pass – from here on to the inner Vider Pass – downhill to Höllboden – ascent to Hohe Zirbe – downhill to Ischgl (1350 m asl).

From Ischgl the route continues over Idalpe to Idjoch Pass – downhill from inner Vider Pass via Alp Trida to Samnaun. Test your endurance or simply be part of the audience at this event in July.

Climbing and boulder park
The family climbing and bouldering park on Alp Trida is a new summer offer in Samnaun. Idyllically located at the Milbach, 9 boulders and a climbing crag await, and each one can be tackled on various routes – ideal terrain for beginners and experts alike.

The ‘Grill & Chill’ zone invites you to relax and play. Safety equipment can be hired at Alp Trida in the ski building, `where` griddled sausages and drinks are also available to purchase.

The entrance to the climbing park is right at the valley station for the Flimsattelbahn N1. Scooters with chunky tyres are also available to hire, these are excellent for speedy down-hilling on the two flow trails `from` the Viderjoch and Alp Trider Sattel. The starting point for the flow trails is conveniently accessible by chair lift.

Leisure tips for the whole family
Leisure tips for families can be found in the weekly programme, which can be accessed free of charge or at a reduced rate with the Samnaun Guest Card.

Once a week, Family Day in the bordering fortress “Altfinstermünz”, baking bread with the whole family and a guided tour of Alp Bella, one of the highest Alps in Europe, takes place.
