ALPINE SKIING
Stranda Ski Resort is one of Norway´s most spectacular. With its 7 lifts and 17 slopes in various difficulty levels, children’s facilities, terrain park and Scandinavia’s best off-piste opportunities, Strandafjellet is the perfect ski destination suitable for the whole family.

Strandafjellet has a gondola to Roalden Pavilion, located 1042 meters above sea level. Here you can enjoy refreshments in the pavilion’s restaurant as you take in the spectacular views. The panoramic view from Roalden towards Stranda and Storfjorden is truly majestic and part of UNESCO’s World Heritage Site Geiranger.

FJORD CRUISE
The Sunnmøre region is home for Norway´s most spectacular fjords. Storfjord Hotel offers private boat trips with the hotel boats to explore the secluded and breathtaking fjords such as secluded Hjørundfjord and UNESCO World heritage area Geirangergord.

FISHING TRIP
Fishery is a part of our culture and local heritage. As Norway’s leading export port for fish and fishery products, Ålesund has a long and proud fishing history. With direct access to the open sea we are happy to show you our secret fishing spots. Don’t miss the famous Borgundfjord fishing that attracts enthusiasts from all over the world.

This traditional fishing has taken place for many generations and has had a great impact on the development of Ålesund as a city. Every spring for many hundreds of years Borgundfjord fishing has been a spectacular fishing that has taken place right under the quays, almost in the middle of Ålesund town center.

Fishing normally takes place from February through April. During this period the cod together with herring come in large quantities to the Moorish coast for spawning, and the boats lie close in tight to pull up the tasty cod in large quantities.

The coastal cod coming into the Borgund Fjord for spawning has been protected, and in recent years the fishermen have had to stay away. But recreational anglers can enjoy the unique fishing in the Borgund Fjord. It is extra nice to deliver your own catch from the fishing trip to the kitchen at the Storfjord Hotel.

After an exciting day at sea, enjoy a lovely dinner overlooking the Storfjord where your catch will be included in one of the dishes served at your table that evening. Fishing is an exciting experience suitable for everyone. We organise trips with the hotel boat.

KAYAK
Explore the surroundings with the hotel kayaks. Just a short hike from the hotel you will find Glomset bay and our kayaks. This is the perfect starting point for shorter or longer kayak trips. LOCAL FOOD FARM
Vist an autenthic fjord farm. Meet the charming couple who are friends of the hotel and lives by the Storfjord in fjord village Glomset.

Local food traditions is being protected as they hunt, grow, bake and fish everything they produce and serve at the farm. HELICOPTER
Helicopter sightseeing and transfer. Explore the Sunnmøre region by air. We offer curated tours with amazing views of glaciers, fjords, mountains and landmarks. As a part of the journey we can stop for lunch or dinner at remote and exotic dining experiences. Helicopter transfer is available from the airport to our hotels and between activities and destinations.

Nature lovers will find a vast selection of shorter and longer hikes for you to explore. Some even starting at the hotel door. The views are spectacular and such a reward as you reach the top.

Daily departures from Ålesund Town. Wildlife Sea Safari is the perfect combination of adrenaline, sightseeing and storytelling in the fjords. In Summer you can join our daily departures or book a private trip all year round. In Summer and Autumn we offer daily departures from Ålesund Town. All year you can book a private trip with our boats. The capacity for each boat is 12 people.
