A unique landscape created by volcanic tuff and delicately shaped by wind, snow and rain for over thousands of years. The homeland of the Hittites, the largest monastery settlement of the world for centuries, the native land of grapes and wine, the cradle of Christianity, the heart of the Seljuks, the oasis of the Anatolian steppe or the “Land of Beautiful Horses” as the Persians called it: this is Cappadocia.

The unfolding of a fascinating history, a mystical atmosphere, a beauty forever etched in mind… And in the middle of all this stands a hotel built with a love for this region: Argos in Cappadocia.

It is the most special hotel of the land which underground cities were carved into thousands of years ago, millions of pigeons considered to be the safest nest, and monks retreated to for centuries.

The hotel offers an unparalleled stay with a unique value offering from one of a kind room options to an enchanting history, staff to food & beverage varieties, decoration to architecture, eco-consciousness and pet friendliness to a meaningful contribution to the region.

Argos in Cappadocia is one of the most original transformation projects in Cappadocia. It has been meticulously put together since 1996. It all started with the idea of building a house. It was initially a piece of land purchased thinking “this is the place to live”, but the historical remains unearthed during construction changed all plans.

The desire to reveal, preserve, promote and embrace the beauty of Cappadocia transformed the idea of building a house into building a hotel. Under the supervision of expert architects, historians and the cultural and natural heritage preservation board, the hotel rooms, each of which took years to build and to be gradually incorporated into an area of 13,500 square meters, were inspired by the region in all their aspects from texture to decoration. This is how Argos in Cappadocia, the “hotel with a village for a heart”, was born.

Argos in Cappadocia is a “hotel of fine details”. From the table to the carpet, the audio system to playlists, the soap to the umbrellas, every minute detail in the rooms has been put together, as our guests would say, with “sophistication”. Built using local stones and wood, the rooms are furnished by combining traditional Turkish handicrafts with modern furniture.

Argos in Cappadocia gives you the opportunity to spend some alone time in your room and focus on your creativity or to relax, as well as the opportunity to socialize with many different activities.

At Argos in Cappadocia, you can unwind in the pool while watching the colorful dance of hot air balloons, have a massage while enjoying the view of Mount Erciyes and Pigeon Valley, treat yourself to a delicious meal made with the produce grown in our own garden at our restaurants, taste our award-winning wines made with the grapes from our vineyard at lounge area, or lose the track of time as you let your eyes wander towards the valleys, vineyards, apricot and apple orchards by the fireplace or on the terrace in the evening.

Even if you never leave the hotel, you will find yourself immersed in a wealth of details carefully picked to perfectly blend with the true texture of Cappadocia and to give you information about the basic characteristics of the region.

How many hotels are there in the world with a centuries-old underground tunnel underneath it? A part of this tunnel, originally thought to be six kilometers long, connects Gemil Mansion with the Tünelli Mansion of our hotel.

ROOMS & SUITES
The 51 rooms in Argos in Cappadocia, designed to blend in with the landscape and historical texture of the region and meticulously built in 26 years, promise 51 different experiences to their guests. Overlooking the Pigeon Valley, Mount Erciyes and fairy chimneys, the 51 rooms on graded terraces offer a unique pastoral feast for the eye.

They can be divided into five categories based on their size (m2). It is also safe to say that there are “51 different categories”. Offering fireplace, terrace or cave alternatives, these unique rooms, each with a different aura and personality, share the same gusto.

Rustic niches and corners shaped by the volcanic rocks in the region create living spaces that combine traditional Turkish handicrafts with modern furniture in great harmony.

NAHITA CAPPADOCIA RESTAURANT
Inspired and nourished by its Anatolian roots, respectful of its geography, history, and cultural continuity, Nahita, the new star of Anatolian cuisine, harbors the mindfulness that lacks in the new world. Nahita’s “good” sense and approach is reflected throughout its philosophy, narrative, service, and dishes.

Nahita’s inherit ties to Cappadocia, home to one of the oldest human settlements in history, and Anatolia, where the world’s earliest teachings originated, the first clay pots were created, copper was processed, agriculture and farming were established, tables were set to share meals, and the “major transformation” of humanity begun, is reflected in its location at the heart of Anatolia.

Nahita promises guests a journey where they can reconnect with nature and culture to experience the regional heritage. From the perspective of cultural heritage, Nahita adopts the principle of maintaining Anatolian culture in a waste-free environment.

Nahita’s menu is curated through produce from an area of 60 km diameters, where most significant Neolithic Age settlements can be found. Cappadocia, one of the few areas where life has uninterruptedly persisted for around 11 thousand years, is among the most outstanding examples of this period, when social order was altered, and urbanized life started.

In a unique land that was created over millions of years, Nahita Dokya wines made from grapes cultivated from volcanically fertilized Anatolian soil and Nahita’s signature cocktails await on a terrace that opens a gateway to history from Guvercinlik Valley to Erciyes Mountain.

A unique culinary experience offering one the world’s most ancient views while harboring the teachings of Anatolia, Nahita invites you on a journey to become part of history.

SEKI RESTAURANT
Seki Restaurant, which takes its name (meaning “terraces on the slopes”) from the lush green terraces of our hotel, has been etched in the minds and taste buds of its guests with different layers of flavor that live up to its name.

Located in one of the oldest and largest monasteries in the world, above the cellar, one of the prime locations of this area, Seki is the most awarded and most popular restaurant in the Cappadocia region.

Recognized time and again among the “best” by international magazines and organizations such as Condé Nast, Wine Spectator and Departures.com, Seki Restaurant bases its service on the philosophy of using the freshest ingredients to prepare any dish in the best way possible.

Striving to embrace and promote to their guests the “Zero Mile” philosophy (“Make food with hyper-local ingredients”), which is crucially important for ecological sustainability, Seki’s culinary team use produce collected from the hotel’s garden fresh between June-October and in their dried or fermented form during the rest of the year.

Moreover, molasses obtained from the grapes such as Emir, Dimrit, and Parmak, which are harvested from the vineyards of Argos in Cappadocia, add another layer of flavor to the dishes or make for a delicious breakfast spread.

CAPPADOCIAN WINES
Learn about our viticulture activities that we carry out utilizing cutting-edge techniques in the Cappadocia region, which boasts one of the few terroirs in the world where grapes grow healthier thanks to the volcanic soil and the temperature difference between day time and night time.

Our Gülşehir and Sofular vineyards located at an altitude between 900 and 1300 meters, are home to native Anatolian varieties such as Kalecik Karası, Boğazkere, Emir and Narince, as well as other well-known international varieties such as Shiraz and Chardonnay.

The generous winds that shape the fairy chimneys of Cappadocia and the natural touch of the Kızılırmak River give the wines of the region their characteristic taste. In the Cappadocia region, a total of 30 different grape varieties can be produced, including early, intermediate and late harvest. The volcanic soil rich in minerals and plenty of sunlight culminate in a highly fertile region.

The most special grape variety of the region is Emir, which is also grown in our vineyard. Its grains are medium-sized and the skin thickness is medium. All producers in the region make white wine using Emir, which is a grape variety with a juicy, aromatic and acidic flavor profile.
