Baglio Passofondo is a typical Sicilian rural building of the XVIII century, renovated and transformed into a dream resort. The grandparents of our owner, Anthony F. Stellino migrated in the 1920’s for a new life in America, never forgetting their Sicilian roots, instilling in their children and grandchildren Sicilian traditions and ideology to succeed and enjoy and always remember their roots.

Today, Anthony has recreated that sentiment in 2 distinct Sicilian treasures “Baglio Passofondo” and “Villa Cristina Scopello” on the north western tip of the island of Sicily. An authentic and unique location, nestled between gentle slopes and row of vines, few kilometers from the sea.

ROOMS & SUITES
Blue skies and unforgettable sunsets, fragrant and clean air, sweet slopes covered by rows of vines and olive trees; a silence broken only by crickets singing, by night, and by sparrows’s chirpings during the day. This is the setting where our Baglio is nestled in.

DELUXE ROOM
A rustic style for a room with all modern comforts: whirlpool bathtub, ethanol fireplace, satellite television with flat screen, Lavazza coffee pod machine. This room features a comfortable double bed with memory foam mattress and pillows. Beautiful view on the hills of the surroundings.

Fresh and seasonal products, Slow Food presidium, Sicilian excellences and vegetables from our organic vegetable garden, at zero km, are the starting point to create unique plates and recipes paired with a selection of the best wines of the island. Upon request our chefs will prepare personalized menus for vegetarians, vegans and people with food intolerances.

THE WINE CELLAR
“A meal without wine, it’s like a day without sun” , Anthelme Brillat-Savarin used to say and at Baglio Passofondo we think the same way. A gastronomic experience can not be enjoyed to the full without the right accompaniment in the glass. Our cellar has an interesting selection of Sicilian wines to make you travel all over the island, sitting at the tables of our restaurant.

Sicilian oenology is a book of adventures that speaks about four elements: the fire of the volcano, the air of its winds, the water of its seas, and of course the land where deep roots of this millenary culture sink.

COOKING CLASSES
You will learn how to prepare a typical Sicilian dessert. With the help of our chefs, you will learn while having fun. The fascinating art to prepare a perfect fresh hand made pasta: tortelli, fettuccine, tagliolini… Sicilian grandmother style with the more delicious dress

A special area designed to take care of yourself. Massages and beauty treatments to get in better shape or just to wind down and relax at the end of the day, waiting for dinner time.

DECONSTRUCTIVE MASSAGE
It consists in maneuvers of pure pressure, superficial and deep rubbing to make the tissues more elastic creating a stimulating effect and dilating vessel. During the massage, innumerable nerve endings are stimulated both in the skin and in the deepest districts.

BODY TREATMENT
The treatment is divided into the phases of body scrub, mud and final massage with essential oils. It is a 5-star sensory treatment. Thanks to the moisturizing and anti-radical properties of grapeseed oil, vine leaves, fresh grape juice and rose, the skin will be brighter and more hydrated.

TRIBAK HAMMAM BODY TREATMENT
Duration 90 minutes. The treatment is divided into the phases of body scrub, compresses with black soap, mud and final massage with essential oils. Based on precious Argan oil, it is a moment of pure energy that is released by the slow and wise craftsmanship of ancient tribal methods. The treatment is indicated to stimulate cell renewal and is ideal for tired and dull skin.

POMEGRANATE BODY TREATMENT
The treatment is divided into the phases of body scrub, compresses with green clay and final massage with essential oils. Since ancient times the beneficial virtues of the pomegranate have been praised by entire peoples and illustrious personalities, even linked to medicine.

Rich in vitamins and with antioxidant and astringent properties, this fruit is used for a special massage to the whole body, refreshing, firming and regenerating. The result will be a toned and relaxed body skin.
